Annapolis Boat Shows Announces Five-Year Fall Shows Schedule

Providing the industry with an opportunity to plan ahead, while encouraging strong collaboration efforts with other industry-leading shows.

For Immediate Release (December 17, 2020) Annapolis, MD – While 2020 has been difficult for maritime shows everywhere, the Annapolis Boat Shows are alive and well and ready to take on 2021 with gusto and determination. The Annapolis Boat Shows have announced the next five-year dates for their fall shows. Their marquee fall shows will now take place on the same October weekends for the next five years.

The United States Powerboat Show will be held on the four days (Thursday to Sunday) of the first full weekend in October, and the United States Sailboat Show will follow on the second full weekend (Thursday to Monday). “Our future dates now coordinate seamlessly with the other major boat shows. This will allow our exhibitors flexibility with travel planning, affording them the ability to showcase their boats and products across multiple dates and locations,” said Paul Jacobs, President of the Annapolis Boat Shows.

Following this newly planned schedule, the United States Powerboat Show will run on October 7-10, 2021 and the United States Sailboat Show on October 14-18, 2021 at City Dock in Annapolis.

Taking in the knowledge from lessons learned in 2020, the management team is working hard to produce boat shows that ensure the health and safety of all in attendance. A steering committee consisting of county health officials, representatives from economic development, city management, the boat show producers, and their contractors is on the horizon. Additionally, a 35-page health and safety manual has been drafted, along with logistics and protocols, to allow each show to run safely and productively. 2021 and beyond is looking promising for all and the Annapolis Boat Shows looks forward to welcoming everyone back to Maryland.

Two of the most anticipated boat shows in the Chesapeake Bay region are just around the corner: the Annapolis Boat Shows , which include the United States Powerboat Show and the United States Sailboat Show.

Every October, hundreds of exhibitors bring boats, gear, apparel, services and accessories to City Dock at the downtown Annapolis waterfront. Boaters from all over the country (and sometimes the world) come to peruse, shop and learn from experts and this creates a one-of-a-kind atmosphere in the boating capital of the region.

Boat builders, charter companies, local marine businesses, sailing schools, yacht clubs, and more join the party to form a one-stop-shop for boaters. In the evening, historic downtown Annapolis offers Pusser’s famous Pain Killer cocktails, great restaurants and iconic shopping for all things boating-related.

4 Reasons Why Boat Shows are 'Can't Miss' in 2021-2022

United States Powerboat Show

In 2021, the U.S. Powerboat Show will be first, running October 7-10. A variety of powerboats will be on display including bowriders, center consoles, cruisers, cuddy cabins, deck boats, powercats and more.

There are a number of boat builders who will be debuting all-new models that are expected to make their debut include the redesigned Back Cove 372, the Boston Whaler 420 Outrage fishing machine, the stylish Hinkley 35 and the Ranger Tugs R-43 CB, among others. United States Sailboat Show

Just a few days later, the U.S. Sailboat Show follows on October 14-18. Recognized as one of the world’s most comprehensive and prestigious sailboat shows, this event draws hundreds of mono- and multihull sailboat builders as well as charter companies from around the world which set up in Vacation Basin in Ego Alley.

Yacht charters have been hot lately, and you could win a weeklong sail on a 45-foot catamaran in the British Virgin Islands (courtesy of The Moorings and valued at $10,000) as a door prize. Boat Show Shopping Tips: How to Get the Best Deal

Education & Hands-On Learning

There’s a lot to learn whether you’re a new boater or a seasoned sailor.

• Serious sailors contemplating offshore passages and travel to exotic locales can take a three-day Offshore Emergency Medicine class and receive a certificate by Wilderness Medical Associates International. The course is U.S. Coast Guard approved under CFR 46 and accepted by U.S. Sailing for first aid training. This is a fee-based class and registration is required.
• Cruisers University will make an appearance again with nearly 30 expert speakers. These popular courses fill up fast, especially the diesel maintenance and navigation classes so book early. University prices include educational materials, expert instruction, breakfast and lunch, evening activities, a one-year basic BoatUS membership and admission to the show(s).
• Additionally, the BoatUS Foundation will be hosting the Demo Dock with introductory courses for the whole family. SeaKeeper will be demonstrating their gyro stabilization system that reduces fatigue and seasickness while with Yamaha, you can test their Helm Master EX system that provides joystick driving for single to quad outboard applications. And don’t forget to check out the Cox diesel outboard engines with their 25% fuel savings.

Tickets & Getting to the Show

Admission:  General admission is $20 with the preview (first) day priced at $35. Children 7-10 are $10 and kids six and under are free. Both shows offer exclusive VIP access ($125) that includes a lounge with catering and a choice of a liquor, wine or beer sampling. There’s also an option to add reserved parking at a gate entrance ($150 for both).

Parking:  Boat show visitors are encouraged to park in Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and take the free shuttle bus to the show location. Parking is $20 for cars and $40 for buses and/or motorhomes. Parking is also available at the Eastport Elementary School and at the Annapolis city garages or on-street parking locations.

Jumpstart the boating season with the Annapolis Sailboat Show this April 26-28, 2024 .  Annapolis Boat Shows , a leading management company, has been producing these in-water demonstrations since 1970, drawing over 150,000 people from all over the world to the Chesapeake Bay who want to see the latest and greatest in boats and related gear.

The Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show

The Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show takes place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 26-28, at the Annapolis  City Dock . Set in the seaport of Annapolis, it displays catamarans, monohulls, racing boats, and inflatables - with over 100 new and brokerage yachts. Check out the vessels and spend some time shopping for the latest equipment, including electronics, clothing, and other accessories. The show runs from 10 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday and from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. General admission is $18; children under 12 are free.

Or indulge in an exclusive VIP Experience for $85/ticket. Your VIP ticket includes Boat Show admission and access, with unlimited entry, into the VIP Lounge located inside Latitude 38 Waterfront Restaurant. The lounge includes a full bar starting at noon, continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and afternoon appetizers. Valid for one day only.

The United States Sailboat Show , formerly know as the " Annapolis Sailboat Show ", attracts more than 50,000 boating enthusiasts from around the world every year to the waterfront of historic Annapolis, Maryland. Home of U.S. Naval Academy the Chesapeake Bay town is recognized worldwide as the premier sailing showcase, this is the place to sell, buy or dream about owning a sailboat. The show showcases and displays all makes and models of sailboats including catamarans, international racing sailboats, family cruising boats and sailing yachts, plus sailing equipment, cruising and charter information, sailing accessories and daily educational seminars.

Workshops will also include boat demonstrations. Enjoy perusing the smaller boats including one designs and trailer-able sailboats along with sailing dinghies and inflatables.

The five-day festival kicks off at 10 a.m. Thursday with a preview day followed by four days of sailboat showcases. The show hours are from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.

After first debuting in 1970, the show has grown to accommodate tens of thousands of visitors on the city’s waterfront. Hundreds of vessels, including monohulls, multihulls and inflatables, will be on display. Nearly 500 on-land exhibitors will be selling their wares.

New at the show this year will be a Sailing Channel Booth where 40 sailing influencers will share their stories. Creators such as Ryan and Sophie Sailing, LaVagabond, Expedition Evans and Delos will answer questions, chat about their experiences, and pose for a photo.

Attendees also can register to ride on one of two 74-foot classic schooners that will sail up to seven times daily on 90-minute cruises throughout the weekend. One of the vessels, the Woodwind II, was featured in the movie “Wedding Crashers.” Discounted tickets are available at schoonerwoodwind.com .

Know before you go

Boat show tickets sold in advance start at $22 for adults and $10 for children 7 to 12. Children under six are free. VIP and multiday tickets are also available. No exchanges or refunds.

Pay parking is available at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and continuous free shuttles will run from Gate 2 to the dock starting at 9 a.m. Hillman Garage is closed and currently under construction. There also will be parking at Eastport Elementary and various other garages in Annapolis. Street parking also will be available.

Pets and strollers are prohibited at the event due to concerns of falling in the water or being a tripping hazard.
