Dubai International Boat Show returns after two-year hiatus

The Dubai International Boat Show returns to the city of gold next week after a two-year hiatus as a result of the pandemic. Running from 9 – 13 March, the event’s 28th instalment is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and will be the first to take place in its new home of Dubai Harbour 

This year's show will play host to a series of international debuts including Sunreef’s 80 Eco catamaran and the Princess Y85 , plus a regional debut for Sanlorenzo’s SX88 crossover model. The 54 metre Alloy sailing yacht Tiara and Benetti ’s 40 metre Free Day will be on display, while visitors will also have the chance to step on board Van der Valk ’s new Alvali and Custom Line motor yacht Mrs. G .

UAE yard Gulf Craft is commemorating 40 years in the industry and will mark the occasion at the Dubai International Boat Show by unveiling two new models as well as the launch of the tri-deck Majesty 120.

The largest marine event in the Middle East and North Africa region will feature its own ‘Superyacht Avenue’, one of the show’s most popular sections. Major shipyards such as Amels, Feadship, Princess, Gulf Craft, Sanlorenzo and more are set to be opening up shop in Dubai Harbour.

Speaking about the event executive vice president of DWTC, Trixie LohMirmand said: “The challenges of the last two years have sparked a desire for more outdoor, spatial lifestyle. We look forward to enhancing Dubai’s status as an internationally renowned superyachting destination.”

With over 400 boats in total due to attend, the event is aimed at reuniting the region’s maritime community, according to the organisers. In the coming days, several yards and brokers are set to announce their lineup of yachts attending this year's show.

The Dubai International Boast Show is the largest and most exciting boat show in the region and will be ready to show off more than 150 yachts to over 30,000 visitors from 1-5 th March 2023 at Dubai Harbour.

If you are unfamiliar with Dubai Harbour, it is the premier marina development in Dubai , located in the heart of the city and the perfect host for the event. Owners, captains and charter crews will proudly showcase what their yachts have to offer, and exhibitors and visitors include yacht builders, technical experts, industry professionals and investors from all over the world.

The organisers look to create a welcoming atmosphere with watersports demonstrations, competitions, boat rides and family activities focussing on marine conservation. Delicious food, stylish cocktails, exclusive DJ sets and so much more are all on offer alongside the gleaming super yachts and backdrop of Dubai’s towering skyscrapers.

For those looking for a more active holiday, there is an array of options such as skiing and snowboarding at the Ski Dubai, hot air balloon rides and desert safaris and not forgetting the choice of world-renowned golf courses. The diverse emirates are a melting pot of differing cuisine, and visitors can experience traditional Arabian food at a Bedouin-style camp in the desert or enjoy a fine dining experience at one of the many top-rated international restaurants.

The UAE’s premier boating event will be returning from 9 March to 13 March, showcasing a stellar fleet of yachts and luxury lifestyle goods for the 28th edition at the brand new Dubai Harbour. The 2022 edition is the first in two years following cancellations due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Promising five days of boating action, the 2022  Dubai International Boat Show  (DIBS) is one of the highlights of the yachting calendar for the UAE and the wider Middle Eastern region. The event attracts visitors from around the globe and aims to strengthen Dubai’s status as a superyacht hub.

The event was formerly held along the Dubai Canal. However this year, the show is expected to take place at the brand new Dubai Harbour.

This show location is expected to showcase close to 500 boats, split between the marina and a dedicated on-land exhibition area.

The Fleet of Yachts

The Dubai International Boat Show plays host to an incredible variety of vessels every year. The 2022 line-up will be no different, with a huge spectrum of boats on display, ranging from sparkling superyachts and tenders to sleek pleasure cruisers and fishing boats.

On top of this, there will also be a selection of cutting-edge watercraft that highlight the latest in modern technology.

Alongside the yachts, esteemed shipyards from all over the world will be on hand to exhibit their latest models, unveil concepts and provide details and information about their yachts.

DIBS places a heavy focus on water accessories, including state-of-the-art gadgets and the latest water toys.

A dedicated lagoon will allow show-goers to trial these toys for themselves, while thrilling water toy competitions will put on spectacular entertainment for attendees.

What’s more, there is even expected to be a dive pool in the center of the show, allowing anyone with an interest in scuba to take to the waters in a safe and controlled environment.

Luxury Retail

No boat show would be complete without a selection of exhibitors showing off the finest in luxury lifestyle offerings.

This year, there is expected to be thousands of exhibitors from across the globe, providing everything from maritime products to jewellery, footwear and swimwear. Those with an interest in cars are in luck, as DIBS 2022 will be hosting another prestige showcase of supercars.

Away from the excitement of the show, there will be plenty of social activities to take part in, including DJ sets, cocktail soirees and relaxed pop-up events.
