Sardinia luxury yacht charter

Sardinia’s scalloped bays, shimmering sands and dramatic coastline have long been the playground of screen starlets, royalty, first families and the yachting elite. With some of the most exclusive harbours, hotels and restaurants in the western Mediterranean, a luxury yacht charter around the Italian island of Sardinia seamlessly combines sun-soaked glamour with timeless elegance and natural beauty. A Tyrrhenian Sea yacht charter around this island can happily balance partying in hotspots like Porto Cervo on the Costa Smeralda with an escape to secluded islands and jaw-dropping marine parks in places such as the Maddalena archipelago.

Sardinia yacht season and weather

Sardinia is hot and dry from May to October with the island enjoying an average of 300 days of sunshine a year. Peak charter months are July and August, though June is also an excellent time to charter. August is particularly busy as most Italians take their holidays during this month.

Most rain falls between October and February, giving much of Sardinia a lush and verdant character. Visitors may well experience balmy summer days in March and April, though evenings will be cool during this time of year. The prevailing wind is north westerly, which can be particularly significant on the Strait of Bonifacio at the north of the island.

Sardinia superyacht charter itineraries

Historic Cagliari crowns Sardinia’s southern edge, and a litter of pretty coves and tiny villages then await. With vineyards inland and towns steeped in history, it is a region rich in cultural and gastronomic offerings. Yachts up to 55 metres LOA can drop anchor at Marina di Cagliari. 

To the north, the superyacht haven of Porto Cervo is the central hub for the yachting elite that descend on Sardinia’s glittering Costa Smeralda each summer. Home to some of Europe’s most expensive residences and exclusive resorts, including the iconic Cala di Volpe hotel, Porto Cervo pulsates during the summer season and its bars and restaurants promise a great night ashore. 

The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda is based in Porto Cervo and organises a packed yacht racing season throughout the summer. Highlights of the Mediterranean cruising calendar in Sardinia include the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta, the Maxi Rolex Cup and Rolex Swan Cup – all lively events for sailing enthusiasts in Porto Cervo to get involved with. Yachts up to 120 metres can berth at the IGY marina in Port Cervo.

South of Porto Cervo, the resort village of Porto Rotondo’s turquoise waters, pristine beaches and charming piazzas will prove irresistible, and the port here has 25 berths for megayachts. Cruise 20 nautical miles and dock at Marina di Olbia (for yachts up to 80 metres) to discover the city’s café-lined squares. Further south explore the caves near Cala Luna, where the peaks of Gennargentu National Park provide a dramatic backdrop and the snorkelling is excellent. Nearby Cala Goloritzé is another natural wonder.

From the northern coast of the main island cruise about 10 nautical miles offshore toward the spectacular archipelago of La Maddalena. While away long, languid sunny days around Caprera, Spargi, Santo Stefano, Santa Maria, Budelli and Razzoli, and discover some of Sardinia’s best beaches and the island’s breathtaking lagoons. On Isola Maddalena, Cala Gavetta marina can host yachts up to 60 metres LOA, as can the marina of the Hotel Excelsior. On Capera, Porto Palma can accommodate yachts up to 40 metres.

Some luxury yacht charters will combine the magic of Sardinia with French-held Corsica – the islands lie in a north to south run, with Corsica sitting off Sardinia’s northerly tip.

On Corsica , visit the historic capital of Porto-Vecchio, discover the UNESCO wonders of the Lavezzi islands and marvel at the houses perched atop the windswept bluffs in Bonifacio before cruising south to the majestic La Maddelena archipelago.

It is also the first Nautical Hotel accommodation facility in the world to also have ISO 9001 certification.

The company today offers its customers the opportunity to find the right offer for their holiday by directly visiting the Yachting in Sardinia website where 8 different offers are available every day, valid only for 24 hours, for a fleet of boats that are completely similar. and throughout to floating and completely eco-sustainable housing units, equipped with all comforts and divided into categories (exclusive, comfort and standard). The customer on board receives 24-hour assistance, also thanks to the SeaTutor monitoring system, and can count on a dedicated Service Operator, ready to respond to any needs of the guest crew, giving the customer the opportunity to experience the sea in total safety.

Sardinia has a typical Mediterranean climate with three main winds to ensure great conditions for sailing: The powerful Maestrale - from the north down along the west coast, the strong Ponente - offshore west wind breezes through each season, and the warm Scirocco prevailing on the east coast.

Most yacht charters are limited to a maximum number of 12 guests, even if their cabin figuration means they can technically sleep a higher number of guests. Charter vessels are normally limited to 12 guests due to the additional compliance and regulations they must meet to be able to carry more guests. However, there are charter vessels that can sleep more than 12 guests. The Advanced Provisioning Allowance, commonly referred to as APA, is an additional charge applied on top of the base charter rate for Sardinia boat charters. This provision covers various non-fixed expenses, including fuel, mooring fees, and provisioning, such as food and drinks. This amount is paid in advance, and the Captain utilizes the APA funds to address expenses throughout your luxury yacht charter. Upon completion of the charter, a comprehensive summary of all costs will be provided, and any remaining funds in the APA will be promptly refunded to you. To enter Sardinia, US citizens must possess a valid passport with an expiration date of at least three months beyond their planned departure. Visa requirements are not applicable for a stay of up to 90 days in Sardinia. Although not obligatory, obtaining travel and health insurance is recommended. Once you confirm your reservation, your broker will process your payment.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

About the Yacht

SARDINIA, named after the second largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, promises the experience of a cruise & island getaway that people often imagine with the Mediterranean Sea.

Custom-built in Aberdeen, Hong Kong, Sardinia was first created as a part of a fleet of 4 yachts initially procured by One°15 Marina Club, back in 2007 where the marina was first launched.

Within her fleet, the Sardinia was a special edition, for she had been built with 2 engines instead of 1.

This meant that she was created with the ability to cruise the seas, while her “sisters” built houseboats–with only 1 engine for short trips or manoeuvring within the marina itself.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling policy: Any rescheduling of the yacht charter is subject to our rescheduling policy. The charterer may reschedule the charter subject to availability and terms and conditions.

• Rescheduling made more than 1 month prior to the charter date is provided free of charge.
• Rescheduling made less than 1 month prior to the yacht charter date, an additional 50% of charter fees will be charged as a rescheduling fee.
• Any reschedules made within office hours count towards the effective rescheduling period stated above. Rescheduling made after office hours will be counted beginning from the next working day.
• Should Charterer reschedule a weekend charter slot to a weekday charter slot (from a higher-value charter to a lower-value charter), no refunds (whether cash or credit) on the difference of the charter fees will be provided.
• Should Charterer reschedule a weekday charter slot to a weekend charter slot( From a lower value charter to a higher value charter), a top up (whether cash or credit) on the difference of the prevailing charter fees will be required.
• Rescheduled bookings must be placed within 1 month from the original booking date. Otherwise, the booking will be taken as a new request.

Cancellations

Cancellation policy: In any event of cancellation, our cancellation policy applies

• Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the yacht charter date are subject to 100% of the charter fee, with no refund or rescheduling allowed.
• For cancellations made less than 1 month prior to the yacht charter date, full payment of the charter fee will be charged, with a refund of up to 50% allowed at TYC’s sole discretion.
• For cancellations made more than 1 month in advance, TYC may, at our discretion, allow a refund of up to 100% of the full charter fee.
• All refunds may be made in the form of a cash refund or credit refund.
• Cancellations made within office hours count towards the effective cancellation period stated above. Cancellations made after office hours will be counted beginning from the next working day.
• Any refund, if applicable, shall only apply to the charter fee component. Charges for food catering or other services will not be refunded should the charter be cancelled for any reason.
• TYC will always negotiate with our vendors in the best interests of our clients. Refund decisions by vendors may be transferred where possible. Flexibility may be exercised where possible, with special considerations made by TYC at our sole discretion on a case-by-case basis.

Other Terms & Conditions

• This yacht does not refund if there is a shortfall of guests on the day of the charter. You might want to book your charter for the confirmed number of guests and add on within the maximum capacity nearer to the charter date.
• Only fully vaccinated passengers are allowed onboard the SZH-licensed pleasure craft. Unvaccinated passengers (other than recovered individuals, medically ineligible individuals, or children aged 12 years and below) are not allowed to board the craft.
• All rates listed are for basic charters only (4-5 hours depending on the yacht). For the standard itinerary,  please click here .
• BBQ pit and cooking services DO NOT  include food.
• Ice (otherwise stated), disposable cutlery, and cups are not provided.
• Do note for wet weather, the Captain will still sail out if it does not pose any safety issues. If it is not possible to sail out, the Captain will try to  delay  the sail out timing. If it is not possible to sail, the charter will be  rescheduled  to a later date (subject to availability).  No cancellations  are allowed. The Captain will decide what is the next course of action.  Customers are still required to proceed to the marina and wait for the captain’s final decision.
• Disembarkation at Lazarus Island Pontoon is no longer permitted by MPA unless the yacht has a tender boat.
• Balloons are prohibited due to marine life preservation.
• Red wine is strictly prohibited on all yachts except for Anka, MS Eternity and EagleWings 1, 2 and 3.
• If no social gatherings are allowed due to any pandemic, we would reschedule the charter up to a mutually agreeable date and time. No cancellations will be permitted. Strictly  NO refunds and postponements, should there be any reduction in headcount for social gatherings by the MMTF, charterers will need to reduce their own headcount and consume the charter. Notwithstanding the above, there are no refunds or reschedules for bookings even if guests are tested positive for COVID-19 unless agreed by the yacht owners.

The island of Sardinia is renowned for the beauty of its coastline, dotted with countless inviting bays and coves, and for those visiting on an Italy luxury yacht charter , the options may seem endless. Here we present seven of the best beaches on the island, which are easily accessible by superyacht.

On a Sardinia yacht charter  vacation, expect to discover a wealth of secluded beaches only accessible by boat. Many of the finest beaches are on the spectacular Gulf of Orosei, halfway down the east coast, a wilder and more isolated region, while for those based in Porto Corvo , the Costa Smeralda and the lovely Maddalena islands also have their hidden charms.

Cala Mariolu

At the southern end of the Gulf of Orosei, Cala Mariolu is regularly named among Italy’s most beautiful beaches, and it’s easy to see why; the sea here is known for its striking hues, which range from the palest blues to deep emerald green, and the pink and white pebbles that line the shore.

The clarity of the water makes Cala Mariolu one of the best places on the island for both scuba diving and snorkelling, and the beach is backed by limestone cliffs, which offer welcome shade in the afternoons. Difficult to reach from land, Cala Mariolu is an ideal stopover for those arriving in a luxury yacht.

The crescent-shaped beach at Cala Luna is an immediately enticing stretch of golden sand with crystal clear water, backed by high limestone cliffs and fringed at its edges by pink oleanders. It’s a secluded spot, most easily reached by yacht, and is one of Sardinia’s best snorkelling beaches.

This photogenic little cove has attracted the attention of filmmakers over the years, and scenes from several films have been shot here, including Madonna’s 2002 movie outing, Swept Away .

Aroud 3km south of the seaside village of Cala Gonone, you’ll find another of the Gulf of Orosei’s entrancing beaches, Cala Fuili. Just 100m long, it’s a small but idyllic beach of soft sand and pebbles, offering an uninterrupted view over the sparkling waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, which is remarkably clear, and shallow, too, so it’s a great beach for children.

The beach is set in a pretty cove, hemmed in by soaring white cliffs draped in verdant vegetation, while beyond lie the forests and mountains of the national park, the Parco Nazionale del Golfo di Orosei e del Gennargentu.

Towards the northern end of the Gulf of Orosei, you’ll come upon the straight run of coarse golden sand known as Su Barone. At more than 3km long, it is more exposed to the wind than some others, making it particularly popular with windsurfers and kiteboarders.

The beach has a natural and unspoiled quality, framed by pine trees and dense wild fennel and mastic bushes, with a crystal clear sea lapping at the shore. It’s the perfect place to get away from it all, and enjoy the brisk breeze blowing in from the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Spiaggia del Principe

Also known as Portu Li Coggi, the “Prince’s Beach” is a stunning sight, a half-moon shaped cove dusted with white sand reaching into a bright turquoise sea. It’s one of the very best beaches to be found on the Costa Smeralda, and was a favourite of the Aga Khan, after whom it’s named.

If you’re visiting Porto Corvo, make sure you put the Spiaggia del Principe on the top of your ‘must see’ list. It’s especially attractive early in the morning.

Cala Corsara

On the tiny island of Spargi, in the Maddalena Archipelago off Sardinia’s northeast coast, you’ll find Cala Corsara, a series of four little beaches with fine, soft sand, separated by rocky outcrops and surrounded by dunes and a wide variety of maritime plants.

Spargi lies within a national park, so the whole area is protected from over development. It’s a wonderful place for diving, with clear water and rich marine life, and those travelling by luxury yacht will be able to enjoy this group of islands at their best.   

Cala di Trana

At the northern tip of Sardinia, facing the lovely Maddalena Archipelago, Cala Trana is a secluded 200m-long sandy beach, surrounded by dunes and wild Mediterranean scrubland.

Bounded by granite promontories, this is an isolated and peaceful corner of the coast, perfect for simply taking some time out to relax and perhaps enjoy snorkelling in the shallow, blue-green sea.

David Beckham Says His Packing Habits ‘Annoy’ Wife Victoria and He Always Packs This One Thing

The soccer star revealed that he's done packing three days before a trip, while his wife is "still messing around"

David Beckham says his “very precise” organizing before trips gets on wife Victoria Beckham ’s nerves.

“It annoys Victoria a little bit because my bags would be packed three days before we're leaving,” he explained while speaking at a Bowers & Wilkins launch event in New York City on Tuesday, Aug. 27. Victoria, meanwhile, tends to be “still messing around” the day before they leave, he claimed.

The soccer legend, 49, added that the former Spice Girl, 50, laughs at him when he chooses outfits specifically for the destination they’re visiting.

“If we go to Italy, I dress Italian. We go to Spain, I dress that,” he said. “I'm kind of trying different things because I think you get so much inspiration from travel.”

David also revealed his travel must-haves, starting with a pair of headphones to “block everything else out.”

“When I'm away from home, I like to take pictures of the kids,” continued the father of four. He said he also packs photos of Victoria, with whom he shares four children : Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 13.

And there’s one other essential he brings on trips.

“I like to take a candle, when I'm allowed,” he said. “You know, there's not many places where you can light candles in hotels, so it's a bit restricted.”

He explained that it reminds him of home, noting, “At the house, we always have candles on, and there's always the same scent.”

The couple, who celebrated 25 years of marriage in July, frequently share snaps of their family vacations.

Earlier this month, David joked that he had an annoyance of his own about his wife’s sophisticated style.

During their vacation in Italy, he posted an image on his Instagram Stories of Victoria reading a book while wearing a black sundress and wide-brimmed hat.

In July, the couple enjoyed another getaway: a boat outing in France with Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

​​“Happy summer!! Kisses,” Victoria captioned photos that showed the family making the most of the summer.

In one image, Victoria lounged on the boat against a scenic sunset backdrop. In another, David grinned at Romeo with his arm around Cruz.

Harper posed with her parents in one shot, and with brother Romeo in another. The gallery ended with a photo of Victoria and David embracing on the vessel’s stern.

That wasn’t the Beckhams’ only excursion on the water this year.

In June, David, Victoria and Romeo were seen aboard a yacht, anchored off the coast of the Italian island of Sardinia. The family relaxed on the Mediterranean Sea and Romeo zoomed around on a jet ski.

Victoria and David celebrated Easter on a luxury vessel with Harper, Cruz, Brooklyn and Nicola.

Victoria also spent her 50th birthday on a yacht , joined by friends Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber in April
