Designed by A. Vallichelli and built in the Arsenale di Venezia, launched in 1985 as the Italian entry in the 1987 Americas Cup.

Aluminium hull and deck. Long fin keel with wings. Retrousse counter stern.  Flush deck with aft cock-pit, twin wheels. Wheel steering on chains and cables.

Fractional sloop rig on original alloy mast, stainless steel rigging. The mast is fitted with hydraulic heel ram to raise and lower, hydraulic rams on the spreaders and back-stay, triple spreaders, runners on tackles. Triangular alloy boom.

Primary winches with central coffee grinder. 2 pairs of self tail secondary winches. Self-tail main sheet winch. Pair of self-tail halyard winches on the deck by the mast. 2 further winches. Deck tracks for the headsail sheets.

Large number of sails, mostly very serviceable, including a new mainsail in 2006 and a new genny in 2004, both in perfect condition.

A 35hp BMW diesel engine was installed around 1997 with folding 2-blade prop.

The yacht has been slightly modified on deck to make her more suitable for cruising. The forward end of the cock-pit has been decked over and an entrance hatch created to access below, otherwise the deck lay-out remains largely original.

The yacht has been simply fitted out below to suit her for cruising.

In present Danish ownership the yacht underwent a simple conversion to a cruising yacht. The cock-pit was altered at the fore end to make an entrance hatch to below, an engine was installed and a new boom made.

Below the conversion is simple but practical.

She was road transported from Denmark to Italy for this refit and subsequently cruised the Dalmatian Coast and the Greek Islands as a family yacht.

She was sailed back to Denmark in 2002 and in 2004 cruised the Danish Islands. She sailed back to Italy until returning to Denmark in 2007. In summer 209 she sailed to Sweden.

She has proved to be surprisingly manageable as a cruising yacht and enormous fun to sail. The owner regularly sails her single handed in the Baltic and she is very easy to sail with 3. She will move at 6/7 knts in the lightest airs and with the right crew of course can still be driven very hard.

She could be refitted back to her original racing configuration.

This new luxury sailing boat offers a wide range of customisation possibilities to suit all sailing styles. The Dufour 41 comes in three versions: Adventure, Ocean or Performance, two layouts in 3 or 4 cabins, and with two atmospheres to suit all sailing programmes and tastes.

EXCEPTIONAL AND CONNECTED INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR SPACES

This new cruising yacht offers beautiful living spaces designed for you to make the most of the boat inside and out.

In the three-cabin version, you’ll find a large and bright owner’s cabin with plenty of storage space and your own bathroom. Your guests will have two beautiful and spacious cabins each with their own bathroom.

In the four-cabin version, up to ten guests can be welcomed aboard the Dufour 41. This yacht is the only one on the market to offer, in the 4-cabin version, two proper forward cabins, featuring 145 cm beds and soundproofing between the two cabins.

In these two versions, the Dufour 41 is equipped with numerous storage spaces and a fore-and-aft galley, allowing you to move freely and easily around the boat.

Design and comfort

Opposite the saloon, the longitudinal galley has been completely redesigned. The 2.4-metre Corian worktop is separated in the middle by a console that increases the work surface while providing a place to rest. There is plenty of practical storage space. The galley even has a double fridge with a front door and there’s also locker, so you’ll have more than enough galley storage when you’re cruising.

The aft cockpit is very spacious, with a table with large leaves that that fold up to easily seat 10 guests. The plancha grill, a Dufour signature, is perfectly integrated into the design and easily accessible from the aft platform for cooking when at anchor.

The two cosy aft cabins each have an en suite bathroom, which is very useful if you’ve chosen to have two double cabins forward.

Simplified sailing

Ease of handling is another of the Dufour 41’s strong points. Thanks to the large volumes on deck and in the cockpit, as well as modern equipment, you can sail this yacht easily, even with a short-handed crew. This includes:
