Yacht Rock Schedule

Our cruise director Julie McCoy kicked off Friday night with a mean rendition of Physical by Olivia Newton John.  By the way, does it get better than a pleasure cruise in the harbor?  I mean, Marina del Rey is so reminiscent of 1978 and a boat party with Michael McDonald blaring?  So, we launched into Scotty’s buttery vocals on Reminiscing by Little River Band.  What a crowd out there!!!  Lastly, we gotta thank the community at Playa Vista for rolling out the red carpet on Sunday for putting us on the Yacht Rock schedule.  Love that beautiful park and Julie’s crew dancing up a storm.  Can’t wait to cruise with you again soon.

Mild High Club!

Lake Arrowhead yacht rock

Lake Arrowhead will get Yachty on August 30 to round out the Mountain Top Yacht Rock journey.  Mile High meets MILD High when Yachty by Nature takes the stage and melts your face smoothly.  Last time we graced the shores of this lake, Covid was in partial swing.  Thus, we can’t wait to let our 70’s hair down and dance our butts off.  Captain Carl is ready for this glorious return to the beautiful mountain hamlet.  No dance pods this time, the Captain says feel free to roam around the cabin.  From Mammoth Village, Tehachapi, and Lake Arrowhead the yacht rock schedule moves to the Arizona State Fair on October 4.  Make sure and follow us on Bandsintown and Linktree to calendar our concerts.

Yachty Flashback

Just a quick FLASHBACK to the pre-Covid original Captain’s Log yacht rock schedule post from 2019 that we posted here.  Another smooth concert on the beach with Snoop Dogg on September 1, 2019 was huge.  However, these soft rockers are just revving up the engines and battening down the hatches for quite a ride this fall.

Snoop and Nood Beach

Hope you got a taste of those guilty pleasures over at Sea Legs on the big stage.  We played with a brilliant lineup of E40, Coast Club, Sega Genecide, Snoop Dogg , and Dash Berlin.  In fact, Sega Genecide rocked the house ahead of us, we took the stage for some smooth sailing and then Coast Club pumped the jams.  We got to geek out with their peeps backstage talking all things smooth music before E40 jumped on the mic to the crowd’s delight.  Additionally, when Snoopadelic began his set, Sea Legs parking lot and food festival grounds were going nuts.  He truly crushed it with thousands beckoning for more.  By the time we left, the Dash Berlin transformed the audience into a Vegas maelstrom of DJ tension and release.

Ultimately, there was but scant leftovers of ramen and a massive crowd of dancers synched up with that big beat.  What an amazing show!

Yacht Rock schedule September

Campus Jax is next on the yacht rock schedule for September 7.  In fact, we return to this killer club with an intimate vibe and epic food.  $10 cover gets you an all you can eat smorgasbord of smooth and the hottest Saturday night ticket in town.  Additionally, get your reservation now so that you can dine with us and dance your butt off to Toto, Steely Dan, and Michael McDonald and more.  Increasingly, there might even be some Kenny Loggins and Little River Band in the setlist.  Easily accessible for our Newport Beach crowd and near the 73 and the 405, it’ll be smooth sailing on Saturday, September 7.  Hence, get your Jack Shrimp on with us, it’s gonna be smooth.

Smooth Cruise

Next, it gets really busy.  In fact, on September 12 we’ll be playing a private show in La Jolla at a corporate awards show.  Unfortunately, we can’t bring you with!

Then, we’ll be playing a Temecula wedding on Friday, September 13 .  Again, we wish we could invite everyone, but it’s going to be a private and intimate affair.

Lastly, we finish the week up at a Private Community concert in Laguna Beach on Saturday, September 14 .  Hope you have friends in high places and we’ll see you there.

On Sunday, September 22 from 2pm to 5pm Sea Legs puts us on the yacht rock schedule for another Yacht Party on the sand in Huntington Beach.  Last couple shows there have been legendary, so get there early or Uber/Lyft to PCH and Warner and walk south.  Furthermore, we are counting on another spirited show, new tunes, and lots of fun.  Get your reservation and come on down for the smooth cruise.  Additionally, Huntington Beach Bicycle Company, Inc . is planning a bike ride that day that will cruise on over to our show and they already have merch you can buy too!!!

Just remember, we only have a few big public shows coming up.  We are evermore busy with corporate shows, private parties, weddings and more.  So, make sure you come out to Sea Legs on 9/22 and get your tickets for Back Bay Bistro on 10/26 for our Halloween concert in Newport Beach.  In addition, we’ll be in Las Vegas at Topgolf on 11/2 and some more local shows in November.

Yacht Rock Schedule and beyond…

And, last but not least on the yacht rock schedule, we’re taking the weekend of September 27 and 28 off.  And, of course, Toto is playing at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, so we’re out on September 20.  Moreover, we’ll need to rest up for our upcoming show in the Midwest!  Woot!  Love that the Heartland of America is so down for smooth music.  In fact, what an honor that we’re traveling so much this year.

The love and passion that these 6 pro musicians have for the genre of smooth music is legendary.  It certainly drives our show.  In addition, it’s what our fans resonate with.  And it’s exactly that passion that keeps everybody coming back for more.  Moreover, we take great pride in the fact that the venues, the fans, and even former fans of other yacht rock tribute bands recognize that we are in the conversation of only two bands nationwide:  Yacht Rock Revue and Us !   What great company.

Yacht Rock Shows

Our concert at the NAMM show in Anaheim in January kicked off a pretty hot 2024.  In fact, the Virgin Cruise we took to the Caribbean wasn’t a bad way to turn the corner on a new year.  Another SOLD OUT gig at Venice West in February and our trip to the Houston Rodeo were epic.  We returned to the Catholic School Fundraiser circuit where we hit 5 super fun fundraisers in two months.  Anytime we can play the Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey for a couple weeks in a row is awesome.  We are still feeling the effects of the rain out at Hangar 24 in March.  Alas, we will return for another concert in November though!  Sadly, the keytar is still in the shop hopefully fixed from the rain damage soon!

After travels to Paso Robles and Laughlin, we had a triumphant return to Sea Legs April 6!  April showers gave way to a beautiful sunny day for this yacht rock cover band at Sea Legs.  In fact, we debuted a new tune for super fan Ryan Glover:  ROCK THE BOAT!  Another killer show on the beach.  Then, just last week we performed 5 shows in 8 days.  It is pretty true that year over year, we are probably the most prolific Yacht Rock Cover Band.  Ultimately, this year will look to be in the 80 shows range again.  This week we celebrate Brett Cassel and his 50th birthday in Dana Point.  Then we ship off for Mission Viejo Country Club for the Tilly’s Life fundraiser.

Looking forward, Yachty by Nature returns to Tiki Bar on May 3 and the Coach House on May 31.  Memorial Day will feature a Monday concert at the USS Iowa for Fleet Week.  Additionally, we just booked June 1 in Las Vegas at the Sahara Pool.  Stay tuned for the ticket link.  The band travels back to the Bay Area for a stellar party up in the Napa Valley in June.  We return in time for another Venice West on June 15 and a HUGE Lake Mission Viejo show on June 22.

As you may well know, Yachty by Nature has been around now for 8 years and very proud of the LIVE music we bring you.  In addition, we not only look back at some amazing shows and awesome venues but the LIVING tribute that we are.  Importantly, we live for yacht rock, we work hard to play it live and we are so excited about the future of yacht rock bands like us.

Catalina Breeze 2020

Back when we originally posted this blog update, it was 2020.  Continue reading to hear what we were doing just before Covid 19 in the 4th year of this yacht rock bands existence.

Now, coming up this month we are truly setting sail!  In fact, the band sails to Catalina Island for the second time as we play March 28 in the historic Casino Ballroom in Avalon .  The Catalina Concert Series will feature Yachty by Nature and our support act Elton the Early Years with Kenny Metcalf.  Get your Two Tickets to Paradise and get yachty with us on Catalina.  In fact, it’ll be our own Catalina Wine Mixer!

Yacht Rock bands in Arizona!

Importantly, we are coming back to Arizona on March 14 for the Scottsdale Arts Festival!  In fact, we headline the event on Saturday and play at 4pm.  In fact, this is Yachty by Nature’s 5th trip to Arizona and leading the smooth movement out there.  From Topgolf, the Arizona State Fair, to the Strong Beer Festival and now Scottsdale Arts Festival, we are keeping Arizona smooth.  In addition, it seems we’re circling in the same orbit as the “yacht fathers” Yacht Rock Revue.

Last month, we attended their concert in Fort Lauderdale ahead of our show for the Emeril Lagasse foundation.  Additionally, they’ll appear in Phoenix this weekend March 7 at the Van Buren and March 8 in Tucson at the Rialto Theater.  Yacht Rock Revue is based in Atlanta and the self proclaimed “Greatest Show on Surf” has played with John Oates and many of the original smooth artists.  In fact, they got in early on this genre of cruise music way back in 2009.

Speaking of yacht rock bands like us, Captain Carl attended the Yacht Rock Revue show again in Los Angeles last night.  In fact, the guys were kind enough to comp us and they crushed it.  The Wiltern Theater was a fabulous venue and the crowd was decked out in yachty gear and feeling the smooth.  Moreover, I’d have to say that opening with Greatest American Hero theme and closing with She’s Gone were killer song choices.  In addition, it’s always fun to be noticed in the crowd for playing in Yachty by Nature.  Of course, with a pink hawaiian shirt

and matching pink pants, I was easy to find!

Importantly, the highlight of the night was Peter Beckett, Eliot Lurie, and Matthew Wilder taking the stage as original artists.  The song Baby Come Back was especially emphatic, emotional, and an interesting ending and the crowd went nuts.  All in all, we’re really stoked for the biggest yacht rock band in the U.S. to be doing well and even coming out with an original album.

Los Angeles Yacht Rock bands

Ahoy Los Angeles!  Hey, we really look forward to playing in Los Angeles a bunch more this summer!  In fact, we have been way overdue to play more public shows in the metropolitan area.  Increasingly, it seems we play Las Vegas and out of state gigs more than we play LA but that is changing.  Incoming shows at Canyon Club, The Rose and Marina del Rey.

We are so pumped to bring 100% LIVE yacht rock to Los Angeles.  Our show at Whisky a Go Go in December was spectacular and has us wanting more.  In addition, we apologize for not making the trek up from the OC more often.  I know we’ve left you underserved!

Lastly, there’s been a bit of confusion in Los Angeles about yacht rock bands.  Harbor Party is the band that started it all playing yacht rock in Southern California around 2015.  Then came Yachty by Nature in 2016.  In fact, Yacht Rock Revue and Mustache Harbor would make some trips to play shows in LA as well.  And then Yachtley Crew came later on by playing shows in 2017.

Additionally, only Harbor Party, High Tide Society and Yachty by Nature play 100% live in all of Southern California.  These three bands do not use pre-recorded backing tracks.  Thank you to all the fans that know the difference between LIVE and MEMOREX 🙂

Midwest tour!

In conclusion, we’re heading back to the Midwest in June.  First up is our private party in Kansas City, MO and then a wedding in Okoboji (Arnold’s Park), Iowa.  Bon Voyage!  Don’t forget to buy your tickets early and Get Yachty with us early and often.  Most importantly, thanks for reading here and thanks for supporting the band.  Keep it Smooth!
