northern sun below deck down under season 2

And it’s hard to imagine a better yacht than the Northern Sun motoryacht to explore this iconic area. The Northern Sun is a 50.8m (now yacht) that used to be a vessel dedicated for ice exploration. The refit work took two years but was clearly worth it when we look at the result displayed in this second season of the Australian Spin off.

Although the Northern Sun is built by the Japanese Narasaki shipyard, it surely is a boat that fits Australian waters quite well and could delight anyone looking to explore the most rugged locations in style, whether they are polar or tropical.

Northern Sun is available for charter from $161,700 / week . Her latest asking price was $15,000,000 .

Delivered by U.S. yard Trinity Yachts in 2006, the vessel is getting a little long in the tooth but underwent a substantial refit last year. The white hull was painted sky blue, the operational systems were upgraded, and the interior was revamped. The vessel’s name was also changed to Purpose this past January.

Large enough to accommodate both guests and reality TV stars, Purpose is equipped with six generous cabins, including an owner’s suite, a VIP, three doubles, and a twin. In addition, the yacht features a sprawling main salon with a baby grand piano, a formal dining room, and an upper deck lounge. The living quarters evoke the Golden Age of yachting, with dark wood paneling contrasting light upholstery.

Heading outside, the sundeck is home to a Jacuzzi, sun loungers, and a bar perfect for cocktail hour. The crew can also set up an alfresco gym or an open-air cinema outside if you desire. As you might expect, Purpose also comes with a full arsenal of water toys and tenders, including a 32-foot Intrepid, wave runners, kayaks, paddleboards, and more. She also sports an inflatable pool, a 30-foot waterslide, and a beach club pontoon that will be particularly fun in the Med.

Why Lady Michelle Is Captain Sandy's Favorite Below Deck Mediterranean Yacht to Date

In an exclusive chat with e news, captain sandy yawn explained why the season six yacht for below deck mediterranean is her favorite. see what she had to say.

All aboard!

In an exclusive chat with E! News, Below Deck Mediterranean 's Captain Sandy Yawn dished all about her season six yacht, named Lady Michelle. Fans of the Below Deck franchise got a taste of the luxury vessel during season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . Yet, in the new season of Below Deck Med , viewers will get a front row seat to what the yacht has to offer.

And, from what Captain Sandy told us, Lady Michelle is one impressive yacht. "My favorite boat ever," she shared. "It was like so solid, I didn't even know we were at sea."

While the layout of Lady Michelle is certainly breathtaking, boasting six guest cabins and over 180 feet in length, the captain revealed that she loved the way it handles. "For me, how it responds in the sea," she explained. "You know, the layout was great, it's for charter...The volume for the size was incredible."

This is certainly high praise coming from Captain Sandy, who has previously captained mega-yachts Sirocco, Talisman Maiton and The Wellington. However, after learning of Lady Michelle's $310,000 winter rate/per week, we can't say we're shocked that the yacht is so spectacular.

Although Lady Michelle typically sails the Caribbean and Bahamas, Captain Sandy led her through the waters of Croatia this season. On returning to the European country's coast, she relayed, "It was absolutely beautiful. The people were great. You know, remember, it was very quiet 'cause of what was going on around the world."

Per the captain, she was "just grateful" that they "got to go there."

Speaking of the coronavirus pandemic, Captain Sandy assured us that season six will be just as entertaining and fabulous as its predecessors. "We made it incredible, right?" she said. "So, that's the beauty of being on a boat is you can quarantine off-shore and have this epic time and see these beautiful places while the rest of the world is shut down."

The captain highlighted how the charter business also helped the economy. She concluded, "At the same time, you're employing people, you're provisioning, you're buying goods. You know, so you're helping the community at the same time."

Below Deck Mediterranean  premieres tonight, June 28 at 9 p.m. on Bravo . All new episodes will be available on Peacock one week early, starting June 21.

Below Deck Yachts

Yacht with Below Deck logo

If you’ve never seen the show, it follows the crew of a luxury yacht during peak “charter season.” The original Below Deck, for example, showed off the glitz and glamour of the Caribbean, especially around St. Thomas, the British Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas. The Mediterranean spin-off, on the other hand, highlights European hotspots, including Italy, Spain and Croatia.

The show is undeniably a ton of fun. From the drama in the crew quarters, to the incredible beaches, the show provides an entertaining look behind the curtain.

Yet, the chartered superyachts are the real stars of the show. Each season, Below Deck features a truly stunning super yacht. All of them measure over 150 feet and are decked out in opulent features, staterooms and amenities. And here’s something you might not know: The majority of the Below Deck yachts are available for charter!

Below Deck Charter Yachts

Through five seasons, Below Deck has featured some of the most magnificent super yachts in the world. Some of the yachts have changed ownership since the show, been renamed, or have undergone a refitting. Yet, most look like they did from the show.

But beyond the name and maybe a few changes to the interior, there aren’t many differences. All of the water toys, Jacuzzis and stunning outdoor dining areas are what you’ll find on the yachts available for charter! So which charter yachts are available?

Here’s a more detailed look at the yachts featured on the original Below Deck:

Honor – Season 1

Lumiere yacht

Honor (which is now LUMIERE) kicked off the first season, and she put on a dazzling display. The yacht, originally built by Benetti in 1999, is one of the largest yachts ever featured on the show, and it was actually booked for a five-week charter for filming.

HONOR benefited from the new-found fame of the show. She sold after it aired for nearly $15 million, and the new owners completely refit her interiors and renamed the boat. Today, LUMIERE is a masterpiece of nautical engineering.

She features luxurious accommodations for up to 12 guests and an abundance of deck space, including a sprawling sun deck. The yacht also features a wide array of water toys (the slide was a struggle for the crew all season!).

Ohana – Season 2

Yacht Rhino

Season 2 took the crew on a tour of the British Virgin Islands and featured some familiar faces. Captain Lee, Chef Ben, and Bosun Eddie were back, much to the pleasure of fans. Yet, the yacht was completely different.

OHANA (real name is RHINO) was featured on the second season, a stunning 154-footer, with beautiful decks, a horseshoe outdoor bar, and a stunning outdoor sun deck. After the show aired in 2014, Ohana underwent an extensive retrofit.

She now features an updated interior with a decidedly modern, airy vibe, as well as new hardware, including a state-of-the-art stabilization system.

Eros – Season 3

Yacht Mustang Sally

EROS took centerstage in Season 3, and the 161-foot yacht, originally built for the founder of Tim Hortons, was one of the most luxurious featured on the show. The beautiful tri-deck, featured a stately saloon, a sky lounge Jacuzzi, and sleek exterior styling.

EROS – which was sold prior to the third season – has since been renamed and was also remodeled. She’s now known as Mustang Sally, and unfortunately, this is one of the few Below Deck charter yachts that’s not available for charter.

Valor – Seasons 4 & 5

below deck mediterranean yacht names

The stately VALOR was a fan favorite in Season 4 and 5. Built in 1990 by Dutch-based Feadship, the 154-foot VALOR featured a sprawling aft deck, perfect for sunset dinners and afternoon lounges. Plus, the ship – when featured on the show – had a range of water toys, including dual jet skis and a sleek, boutique hotel-inspired interior.

Like Mustang Sally, VALOR – which is now known as simply BG – isn’t available for charter. Yet, fans will always remember all the drama that took place on board.

Below Deck Mediterranean Yachts

Below Deck Mediterranean premiered in 2016, and through three seasons, the show has featured some of the Med’s best yachts. All of the yachts from the Mediterranean spin-off are available for charter, exactly how you see them on the show.

Ionian Princess – Season 1

Yacht Ionian Princess

Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean launched with a bang, featuring one of the strongest premieres for the franchise. Although there was plenty of drama throughout the season as the crew traveled around Greece, the beauty of IONIAN PRINCESS couldn’t be missed. The ship, which was originally built in the U.S. in 2005, featured a sleek, streamlined tri-deck design and gorgeous interiors.

The sun deck – where guests partied all season long – is one of the yacht’s star attractions, featuring a Jacuzzi with world-class views. Her interior, though, is one of the most stunning, featuring a chic design. The yacht also includes six cabins with accommodations for up to 12 guests.

Sirocco – Season 2

Sirocco yacht

Season 2 took the crew to Croatia, aboard SIROCCO. The Dutch-built yacht originally launched in 2006, and thanks to its unique two-tone, third-deck exterior, she was remembered for her striking exterior. All of the yacht’s features made great TV. From her incredible sun deck, to the African chic interior, and all of the many water toys, SIROCCO’s impressive design and amenities stood out.

Today, she’s available for charter throughout the Mediterranean. A few unique features include a sun deck gym, an alfresco party deck, a theatre, and a wide array of water toys.

Talisman Maiton – Season 3

Talisman

Named for an island in Thailand, TAILSMAN MAITON is a stunning tri-deck that cruises the pristine waters of Italy and all of the Mediterranean. The largest to ever be featured on the show, TAILSMAN is truly incredible.

The yacht accommodates 12 guests, in 6 beautifully appointed rooms. There’s a master suite, as well as 1 VIP stateroom, and four smaller cabins. The yacht was built in 2006, but most recently refit in 2016 with a timeless Art Deco aesthetic. The yacht also features a sundeck spa pool with a beautiful bar, a full-service gym, and an observation deck with panoramic views.

How Long Are the Below Deck Charters?

Here’s a little-known secret about Below Deck: The “charter season” on the show is just a few weeks. In fact, the yachts are actually booked for about six weeks, and their regular crews are sent home. In other words, the charters on Below Deck are actually a charter within a charter!

Each of the Below Deck charters last just a few days, and each episode features new charter guests.

Below Deck Yacht Rental Costs

Hiring a yacht from Below Deck isn’t cheap. The majority cost in the neighborhood of $150,000 per week. Yet, that charter rate doesn’t include expenses, including fuel, dockage fees, and taxes.

Yet, for that price, you’ll get a truly world-class experience. The crews of each of these yachts provide first-class service and all of the boats are fully loaded with amenities. There’s nothing quite like it in the world. And by hiring one of these superyachts, you’ll also have bragging rights for chartering a yacht featured on a TV show!

More on Season 8 of Below Deck Mediterranean

Per the official press release for Season 8, drama is on the horizon for the aforementioned Mustique crew members.

"Set amidst the mesmerizing Italian Riviera and the historic façade of Genoa, Italy, it's all hands on deck this season for Capt[ain] Sandy and her team," the release reads. "From outrageous guests to after-hours antics , the boat gets rocked throughout each charter as the crew navigates complicated dynamics and unexpected rifts. In a franchise first, unprecedented staffing changes dominate the season, which tests each department as they struggle to find their sea legs through unforeseen turnover."

"Sandy levels up this season with the 180-foot M/Y Mustique , which challenges her deck crew as they attempt to navigate the busy industrial port with utmost precision. Before they even leave the dock, visa issues tie up two crew members while a department head mismanages important paperwork. Sandy leans on temporary help for the first charter and an unexpected shake-up results in a change of hierarchy. On deck, the crew is overwhelmed by their workload on the oversized vessel as the interior deals with a clash of personalities. Chef Jack wows the guests with his impressive take on local Italian fare, but things start to sour when communication goes south..."

See more from Captain Sandy and the rest of the Mustique crew when Season 8 debuts on September 25.

In all the Below Deck franchises, the deckhands have been seen doing a lot of work, while balancing out a lot of play. But the ones who are the best prioritize the boat over a boatmance. The life of a yachtie is not for everyone, but these deckhands proved that maybe they could continue up the ranks. For this list, we will look at the deckhands who were not in a management position. These are the best deckies from the exterior team across the Below Deck universe.

Below Deck is a beloved Bravo series that has launched four spin-off series. From the Caribbean to the Med, Below Deck has taken viewers around the world , providing stunning views while the drama occurs below deck. Documenting the onboard work and off-charter antics, Below Deck has been going strong since 2013. With no signs of stopping, it's time to step aboard and praise the men and women who kept the boat afloat.

10 Harry Van Vleit

'below deck down under,' season 2.

How could you not adore Harry Van Vliet ? The second season of Below Deck Down Under had some tumultuous moments regarding sexual harassment allegations. Yet, Harry Van Vliet was not only a reliable deckhand, he was just a super sweet and kind person. Harry had a bit of a crush on stew Margot Sisson.

Harry was a safe place for Margot during her difficult time on board.

As much as she didn't reciprocate those feelings, viewers cheered Harry on, hoping he might win the girl in the end. Harry was a safe place for Margot during her difficult time on board. Harry Van Vliet left Season 2 as a fan favorite, and rightly so.

9 Culver Bradbury

'below deck down under,' seasons 1 and 2.

Nobody's perfect. Especially Culver Bradbury . Culver first came to prominence during the first season of Below Deck Down Under . He was unofficially known as the "Chief Entertainment Officer," often ensuring the guest experience was always lively. Whether it was with a costume or silly antics, Culver would go above and beyond the job description.

He left the first season as a fan favorite, so when he made a return mid-season during Season 2, fans were overjoyed to see him. But the fun-loving Culver from Season 1 was not the same Culver of Season 2. He didn't have the best work ethic under replacement Boson João Franco , though, to be fair, Joāo is not always the easiest to get along with. He did lead-on some of the ladies on board, but that was nothing new when it came to Below Deck . Whether he was the best deckhand or not, Culver is still a beloved character in the Below Deck Cinematic Universe.

8 Connie Arias

'below deck' season 3.

Connie Arias was the gift that kept on giving during Season 3 of Below Deck . Connie was an exceptional worker. She had strong bonds with her fellow exterior team, making working on board motoryacht Eros a breeze. You can't judge a book by its cover because Connie defies that. She may look demure and innocent, but her hilarious antics on board were anything but.

She loved to show some skin whenever possible. If there was an opportunity to take off her clothes and replace them with whipped cream, she took it! She was the comic relief of the group and fit in as "one of the guys." When it came to work on deck, she was a hard worker and well-rounded. Fans were desperate for more Connie, but sadly, she was only part of the Below Deck crew for a single season.

Follows the crew of a multi million dollar charter boat in the Caribbean.

7 Nico Scholly

'below deck' seasons 4 and 5.

Hard work and determination can get people to the top. For Nico Scholly , that's exactly what happened. Appearing in back-to-back seasons of the flagship series, Nico was a hardworking deckhand who dreamed of becoming Boson . Nico had a charm about him that had fans gravitate toward him. Nico's journey on Below Deck was filled with balancing work with some difficult personal issues.

Viewers learned of the passing of Nico's brother, something he was trying to cope with. He also ended breaking up with his long-distance girlfriend before engaging in a boatmance with stew Brianna Adekey . Nico dreamed of being the man in charge, but during both of his seasons, he was only given the role of senior or lead deckhand. When a temporary Boson arrived during Season 5, Nico was frustrated, feeling passed over. But his hard work paid off as Captain Lee Rosbach gave him his epaulets at the end of the charter season.

6 Mzi "Zee" Dempers

'below deck mediterranean' seasons 6 and 7.

No one was ever kinder than Below Deck Mediterranean 's incredible Mzi "Zee" Dempers . Always with a smile on his face, Zee was eager to learn and grow, proving that he was a beneficial asset to the exterior team. When Mzi made the jump to work on a megayacht, it was a drastic change from his previous work. No matter the challenge, Mzi was up to it. He formed an incredibly close friendship with Courtney Veale , who served as a stew during Season 6 and a deckhand during Season 7.

When she was given the lead deckhand role, he was there to support her, like a great friend should. Captain Sandy Yawn admired Mzi's growth as a person and a yachtie. While Mzi was present for a lot of drama on board, he kept himself out of the drama as best he could. Even if stew Lexi Wilson came at him. In the end, Mzi left as a fan-favorite and that's all that matters!

5 Izzy Wouters

'below deck' season 8.

When Izzy Wouters was first hired for Below Deck Season 8, she was a part of the interior team. Having skills in both interior and exterior, Izzy wasn't feeling fully realized working inside. So, when there was an opening on the exterior team, Izzy jumped on the situation and became a deckhand.

It was something she excelled at, being promoted to Lead Deckhand toward the end of the season. Izzy's work-ethic was unmatched, which helped to prove her worth to Boson Eddie Lucas and Captain Lee Rosbach . Following the season, Izzy came out , gaining support from her crew and fans. While she only lasted a season, she was one of the best deckies the show has seen.

4 Colin Macy-O'Toole

'below deck mediterranean' seasons 3 and 4.

Colin Macy-O'Toole was a mama's boy and the kind of guy you want to be your best friend. He's a shoulder to cry on, a close confidant, and an all-around great guy. With little experience in yachting, Colin arrived to the Med as a captain of a ferry boat that chartered guests to the infamous Fire Island in New York. With such an affable personality, Colin was able to be a soothing presence around the bigger personalities onboard.

While he didn't engage in any major boatmances during his two seasons on Below Deck Mediterranean , Colin did develop a slight crush on stew Brook Laughton , but when Joāo Franco swooped in, Colin took a step back and let them deal with their dramatic relationship. With his focus on his job, Captain Sandy Yawn saw something special in him, allowing him to take the helm on occasion.

3 Ross Inia

'below deck' season 6.

Despite an off-camera incident , everything on screen during Season 6 of Below Deck was positive. Ross Inia was a strong deckhand who stepped up to fill the Boson position following the firing of Chandler Brooks . Ross proved his worth as a hard-worker, taking no nonsense from anyone. Especially deckhand Rhylee Gerber .

When Ross was in a larger position, the entire exterior team improved as the atmosphere no longer had unbridled tension. While he only lasted a season, he was able to help guide his friend Ashton Pienaar to the Boson position the following charter season.

2 Wes O'Dell

'below deck' season 9.

Wes O'Dell is easily one of the most underrated personalities across the entire Below Deck Cinematic Universe. Wes had an immense ease about him. With the ninth season having some incredibly dramatic and tense moments, Wes was the calming presence that anchored the crew. Wes impressed Captain Lee Rosbach and First Officer Eddie Lucas with his strong skills on the deck.

Following the racist comment incident between Chief Stew Heather Chase and deckhand Rayna Lindsey , Wes was there to help mediate the situation. Many fans were shocked that Wes only appeared in a single season, believing he was a perfect candidate for a future management position.

1 David Bradbury

'below deck' seasons 1 and 3.

The first season of Below Deck kicked off the phenomenon that has thrived to this day. The first season's cast served as guinea pigs, balancing work and reality television. One of the most brilliant characters in the cast, David Bradbury was a good deckhand and kept to himself. For an industry that exposed the difficult balance of gender roles and sexuality, David was an out and proud gay man who didn't have to hide himself from his crew. David was everyone's best friend. His ability to get along with everyone helped make him a breakout star.

Part of his story included a surprise from his then-partner, one of the sweetest moments of the season. During Season 3's revolving door of crew, David came to the rescue toward the end of the season as a replacement deckhand. Fans were overjoyed to see him reunite with his Season 1 BFF, Eddie Lucas . Leave it to David Bradbury to be one of the few people to talk some sense into him while he was engaging his secret boatmance with Rocky Dakota . David Bradbury was a star from day one. Below Deck wouldn't be the same without him.

Below Deck Mediterranean: 5 Scandals

T he hit Bravo series Below Deck Mediterranean has become a mainstay in the reality TV world. It follows the lives of crew members working aboard luxury yachts as they navigate the challenges of catering to high-end clients while dealing with their interpersonal dynamics. As one of the five spin-offs of the Below Deck franchise, the show has captivated audiences for nine seasons.

Below Deck Mediterranean offers a glimpse into the world of yachting, where the crew's professional and personal lives frequently collide. However, this collision has also led to several scandals over the years, leaving fans shocked.

The five scandals that have notably shaken the series include:

  • Malia White's love triangle in season 2
  • Pete Hunziker's off-camera racism in season 5
  • Hannah Ferrier's drug stash in season 5
  • David and Natasha's surprise history in season 7
  • Ruan Irving's false paperwork in season 8

5 Scandals of Below Deck Mediterranean

1) malia white's love triangle in season 2.

S eason 2 featured a love triangle between deckhand Malia White, bosun Wes Walton, and chef Adam Glick. The turmoil began when it was found that Malia and Adam were in a previous relationship before joining the yacht in Croatia. They planned to keep their past hidden from the rest of the crew, but tensions flared when Malia developed affection for Wes during the charter.

Adam, feeling envious and deceived, began chasing Malia more aggressively. This caused a conflict among the three crew members. Malia acknowledged having feelings for both Wes and Adam, saying:

"Did I have feelings for both of you? Yes. But did I reach a point where I was ready to choose someone? No. I just wanted to get through the charter and stay friends."

The tension peaked and Adam responded:

"She played me like a f-king flute."

2) Pete Hunziker's off-camera racism in season 5

During season 5 in June 2020, Below Deck Mediterranean faced backlash due to the off-camera actions of one of its crew members, Pete Hunziker. The lead deckhand was criticized for sharing an offensive meme on social media that featured a Black woman in shackles.

A source close to Bravo told Variety at the time that the post led to widespread condemnation and resulted in Bravo taking swift action by firing Pete from the show. Although the incident did not take place on camera, it had a significant impact on the season. The network edited the remaining season 5 episodes to reduce Pete's appearances, ultimately removing him from the show.

In July 2020, Pete apologized via an Instagram post (now deleted) and expressed regret for his behavior. Recognizing the harm the meme had caused, he admitted:

"A little over three months ago, I thoughtlessly reposted a meme without realizing how hurtful it was. I am genuinely sorry to those I've offended. I support equal rights for all people."

3) Hannah Ferrier's drug stash in season 5

In season 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean , Chief Stewardess Hannah Ferrier was discovered to have hidden Valium on board. The drama began when Captain Sandy received a photo from an unknown crew member, depicting a pack of Valium, a vape pen, and a lighter among Hannah's possessions.

Hannah and Captain Sandy clashed over the finding, with the latter questioning the legality of the medication aboard. Hannah, who had been open about her anxiety issues, justified herself by noting that those were prescribed.

After the episode aired, Hannah took to X on August 11, 2024, to clarify the matter. She shared a snapshot of the prescription label on the Valium box and wrote:

"I like Malia's arranging skills. So that's prescribed Valium, CBD (which is legal in Spain), a lighter (not sure what this has to do with anything) and my passport holder... And for anyone who's interested the prescription is on the other side of the box as shown... #belowdeckmed"

Despite Hannah's justification, the event resulted in her departure from the show, effectively ending her term as Chief Stew.

4) David and Natasha's surprise history in season 7

In season 7 of Below Deck Mediterranean , Natasha Webb and David White became involved in another scandal after Dave sent Natasha threatening texts, calling her derogatory names like "wh*re" after a night out. Natasha later claimed that the show edited the situation to make Dave appear more sympathetic. During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on August 9, 2022, she noted:

"The texts were pretty threatening… and none of it was really shown."

Dave, on the other hand, expressed deep regret for his actions. The same year, he stated in an interview with Decider on August 9:

"What I did and what I said were completely out of line... there's no excuse for what I did. To be honest, I can't watch the episode... Do I deserve a second chance? I was out of order."

5) Ruan Irving's false paperwork in season 8

One of the most recent incidents occurred during Below Deck Mediterranean season 8, which premiered in September 2023. The season got off to a rough start when Captain Sandy Yawn learned that her bosun, Ruan Irving, had apparently given fake documentation.

Sandy received a call from the Port Authority, she discovered that Ruan's Yachtmaster documentation had another person's photo attached when scanned online. This discovery put doubt on Ruan's reliability and raised questions about his qualifications.

Ruan later admitted to bringing copies of his medical license and stated that he was waiting for the originals to be mailed to him. Despite his assurances to acquire the right documents, Ruan decided not to return to the yacht after leaving.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

8 signs below deck mediterranean season 9 villain ellie dubaich would make a bad chief stew, below deck mediterranean season 9 shows captain sandy’s selfish side (she’s inconsiderate).

Malia White was last seen on Below Deck Mediterranean season 6, but what has she been up to since her time on the show? Viewers first met Malia as a deckhand on season 2 of the Bravo series, where she made waves for her love triangle with Bosun Wesley Walton and Chef Adam Glick. She went on to date Wesley for several years after the season ended. Malia returned for Below Deck Med season 5 as a bosun and again for season 6 in the same role.

Even though Malia didn't have the best showing on Below Deck Med season 5, she ratted Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier out for having unregistered Valium and a vape pen on board, and she returned for season 6. Malia had somewhat of a redemption season and had a better rapport with viewers. However, Malia has yet to return to the series, which has many wondering what she has been up to since Below Deck Med season 6.

In the trailer for Winter House season 3 , Malia was seen flirting with Kory Keefer , who was dating Summer House 's Sam Feher at the time. Sam comes to the house, set in Colorado, and faces off with Malia, saying she doesn't respect her and Kory's relationship. While Malia is no longer on Below Deck , she got to appear on other Bravo shows.

Malia Works As A Chief Mate

According to Malia 's Instagram bio, she currently works as a Chief Mate 3000. Malia was able to achieve this position through certifications, as well as by being in charge of a deck team for at least a year. Malia is passionate about her work and becoming a captain , which is why she looked up to Captain Sandy Yawn so much on Below Deck Med .

While it seems Malia got to take some time off from yachting to travel and promote Winter House , she is a yachtie at her core. Malia may not be appearing on Below Deck Med anytime soon, but viewers got to see her on the upcoming season of Winter House . Whether fans loved or hated her, Malia was an integral part of the Below Deck franchise.

What Is Malia Up To In 2024?

After appearing on Winter House and taking a break from the yacht life to promote the show last year, Malia quickly got back into the swing of things in 2024. As soon as Winter House season 3 was done airing, Malia went right back into yachting. She started in 2024 in the Caribbean . She took several pictures for her Instagram that were geotagged with Grenada. Malia seemed to be there in January and ended up in Europe in February. Malia shared photos of herself in Portugal and then made her way back to Central America in Mexico.

Other places Malia has visited this year so far include Italy, Scotland, Greece, and more. It seems like most of these places have been for pleasure rather than for work. Malia hasn't visited these places alone, either. In a few photos, there is an unnamed man who appears alongside Malia and the two seem like they are more than friends . This mystery man also appeared in several of her Scotland photos, which the two likely went to for a romantic getaway. Malia has yet to officially confirm if she's in a relationship.

Malia is back to focus on her yachting career in 2024 after appearing on several Bravo shows on and off for the last few years. Her goal is to become a captain one day, and it seems Malia may reach that goal soon. A return to Below Deck Mediterranean may be in the cards one day, but that might happen once Captain Sandy decides to retire.

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.

EXCLUSIVE: Below Deck season 6 yacht revealed

By Katia Damborsky   4 September 2018

For the sixth season of Bravo’s Below Deck, the 56m/184ft motor yacht 'My Seanna ’ from Delta Marine will be playing host.

Premiering on 2 October, Below Deck is coming back to our screens and the superyacht of the season can be exclusively unveiled as My Seanna  - a motor yacht renowned for her opulent interiors, chic deck areas and dedicated entertainment and leisure facilities.

At 56 metres, the Delta Marine build is the largest yacht ever to feature on the show and the first in Below Deck's six seasons to use her real name as opposed to a pseudonym. This doesn't include the spin-off Below Deck Mediterranean, which follows the lives of superyacht crews during the summer charter season.

Below Deck, on the other hand, is filmed during the winter cruising season. Usually, it is set in the popular cruising grounds of the Caribbean but, this year, in another first for the show, it takes place in Tahiti - an idyllic island in French Polynesia which offers an alternative destination for winter charters.

The ocean is calling... 🌊 and @Captain_Lee_Rosbach is picking up with an all-new season of #BelowDeck Tuesday, October 2 @ 9/8c. Link in bio for a first look! A post shared by BravoTV (@bravotv) on Aug 22, 2018 at 8:24am PDT

Filming of the hit reality TV show began in Tahiti in early February and now a recently released trailer included below provides a glimpse into what on-deck antics viewers can expect from the crew and guests alike.

In this season, fan favourite Captain Lee Rosbach returns to the helm accompanied by Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain. But apart from these two familiar faces, the rest of the crew are new to the show.

Held by Below Deck veteran Ben Robinson for the first four seasons, the chef position will be filled by Adrian Martin, an experienced superyacht chef who has won awards at some of the industry's top culinary contests.

Following on from his predecessor Ben Robinson, Adrian Martin is expected to cause plenty of drama in the galley

Kate from Below Deck on motor yacht My Seanna

Following on from his predecessor, Adrian will serve up delicious dishes as well as plenty of drama when his diva reputation surfaces. Likewise, tension is created when Kate forms an exclusive clique with her first ever male stew - Josiah Carter - leaving fellow stewardess Caroline Bedol feeling left out.

Also anticipated to provide compulsive viewing is the dynamics between bosun Chandler Brooks, who begins to crack under the pressure, and his deckhands Ross Inia and Ashton Pienaar. Female deckhand Rhylee Gerber will be making her debut on the show too.

The show will also provide an insight into what a French Polynesia yacht charter is like. Below Deck Med spoilers: Nathan’s sad news, meeting stew Carrie and jealous Ellie

Nathan Gallagher on Below Deck Med Season 9

Below Deck Med is about to shake things up as the crew gears up for the final two charters of Season 9.

The addition of a new stew, Carrie O’Neill, changes the crew dynamic for a couple of reasons.

It’s not even the new stew’s fault, though,

Carrie simply finds herself in demand after joining the Mustique crew.

That’s not all going down either, as Deckhand Nathan Gallagher gets some devastating news from home.

The Carrie factor on Below Deck Med

In the preview, things pick up where they left off this week with Carrie arriving on the yacht. Nathan helps welcome Carrie aboard, taking her straight to Captain Sandy Yawn.

Soon, Chief Stew Aesha Scott arrives to meet Carrie and get her settled. Down in the crew quarters, Carrie gets introduced to everyone, immediately making an impression on Joe Bradley.

The crew gets all glammed up for a night out with Carrie, the main attraction. At dinner, Aesha and Joe put all their attention on Carrie.

Joe doesn’t hide the fact that he’s crushing on the new girl, which doesn’t surprise Bri Muller. Meanwhile, Aesha can’t hide her excitement about having Carrie in the mix and goes all in to make her feel welcome.

Elena “Ellie” Dubaich immediately sees green, but not because of Joe. In her confessional, Ellie doesn’t hide that Aesha gushing over Carrie is making Ellie feel threatened, especially regarding her position on the yacht.

Oh yes, Carrie has been there for a hot minute, and Ellie is already preparing for a fight. We all know this won’t make this anything smoother for the interior crew.

Nathan faces a loss on Below Deck Med

The preview also reveals Nathan gets word from home that someone close to him died. Nathan doesn’t share his sad news with his crew members, even Gael Cameron.

Instead, Nathan puts on a brave face, joking around with Joe and others as they welcome Carrie into the fold.

However, at dinner, Gael can tell something is wrong. This only makes Nathan try harder to hide his feelings, but it’s not working, as the alcohol has him in his feelings.

Season 9 of Below Deck Med may be almost over, but fans can expect the drama to ramp up even more as the season ends.

Below Deck Med airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo. Seasons 1-9 are streaming on Peacock.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Episode 13 Recap: Greece Lightning

Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 13 recap.

Welcome to the  Below Deck Mediterranean  Season 9, Episode 13 recap! In this week’s episode, called “Chef Woes and Cabin Blows,” the Medicane rages on. Trapped at the dock by the wild weather, the crew has to get creative with entertaining the guests. Bri and Ellie make peace with each other while Ellie’s resentment for Aesha grows. Chef Jono commits a “fireable offense,” and Sandy finally hires a new crew member. Here are some of the highlights from Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 13.

Onboard winetasting

Chief Stew Aesha Scott serves drinks on a Below Deck Med charter.

Stuck at the dock by the storm , the guests can’t go anywhere or play in the water. Aesha planned a trip to a Greek winery, but they had to turn back when the streets were flooded. So now the chief stew must come up with some other way to entertain them. She asks if they’d like to do an impromptu wine tasting on board, and they happily agree. Alcohol fixes everything (to a point).

Since the Mustique is stuck at the dock for the night, the interior crew has to knock it out of the park with food and entertainment. Chef Jono is struggling with what to make for dinner since a couple of the guests have food allergies. Some of them requested sushi, but others can’t eat raw food, so he has to be very careful.

Captain Sandy walks by as Aesha is “rapping” descriptions of the wine they’re tasting. It’s kind of hilarious.

“Aesha has some skills that you don’t find on a CV,” Sandy interviews. “Not every chief stew can get the guests to smile when it’s pouring out, and all their plans have been canceled.”

Everybody enjoys Aesha’s wine tasting, but now they’re hammered. Are they even going to be able to stay awake for dinner, much less be able to taste it?

Chef Jono makes a major mistake

Chef Jono has not had an easy charter season on Below Deck Med.

For their first course, Aesha serves tuna carpaccio, which is raw tuna. Isn’t there a guest who can’t eat raw fish?

After Aesha leaves the room, the allergic guest says, “It looks beautiful. I would eat it if I could, but I can’t eat raw fish cause it could kill me.” Yikes! How could Jono forget that?!

When Sandy hears about the error, she’s incensed. “I’m gonna handle that,” she says, heading to the galley.

“What the f*ck!” she interviews. “This is unacceptable.”

In the galley, she tells Jono, “One of the guests … raw seafood will kill her. And it’s in front of her. That’s a big screwup. It was on her preference sheet.”

“Yeah, it was,” Jono admits. “I apologize.” Sandy tells him to apologize to the guest.

“I’m really f*cking pissed,” Sandy interviews. “Never in my 35 years at sea have I had a chef feed a guest something that could actually kill them. This is a fireable offense.”

Aesha’s devastated. “This is such a huge fuckup,” the chief stew interviews. “I should be double-checking everything for Jono. But I am spread so insanely thin right now, I don’t know how I can functionally do that.”

“I feel terrible,” Chef says in a confessional. “I don’t know how I let that slip … [Though] I also have the rest of the dinner to get through, so I’m trying not to let it throw me off too badly. But I can’t help feeling sh*tty.”

Meanwhile, Sandy’s on the phone with Yacht Crew Replacement. “Norma, it’s Captain Sandy,” she says. “I need a new chef. Time frame’s, like, today.”

Ellie gets irritated

Elena Dubiach needs to keep it neat on Below Deck Med.

At the bar, Aesha reminds Ellie that she needs to keep things neat. No rags left lying on the counter, the white wine should be returned to the fridge, and just generally make it look nice.

“You’re not [working] at the local pub,” Aesha interviews. “You’re a bartender on a five-star superyacht. I don’t have time to keep repeating myself. At this point, I feel like I’m a one-woman show.”

When Aesha tells Ellie to “start clearing the plates,” even I know she means to go clear the dinner table. But here comes Ellie with a stack of clean plates. Why?

When Aesha explains she meant “clear the plates on the table,” Ellie gets annoyed. “I can’t win,” she interviews. “I’m starting to feel, like, ‘this big.’ I read a lot about leadership nitpicking. Like, how does that make me try harder to please you?” Um, maybe if you could just retain some of the instructions she gives you that would help.

Meanwhile, Captain Sandy’s on the phone with the boat’s owner. She asks if she can bring on a fourth stew now that they’ve fixed the leak in the forward cabin.

He says, “Let’s make that happen.” Aesha’s going to be thrilled!

Sandy catches Aesha eating standing up again and asks her, “Do you never sit for a meal?”

“I don’t,” Aesha admits. “I’ve got no time.”

“How would you feel if we brought in another stew?” Sandy asks.

Aesha thinks that would be “amazing.” She really needs someone with experience to take the load off. She went over 18 hours the previous day without a break. That’s insane.

“Let’s see what we can do,” Sandy smiles, and Aesha hugs her with gratitude.

Ellie complains some more

Ellie Dubiach has a lot of complaints on Below Deck Med Season 9.

Sandy sees a window in the weather and decides to get the boat off the dock. Let’s give these people what they’re paying a LOT of money for!

On top of everything else, Ellie overslept. She shows up for her 9:15 start time at 9:25. After apologizing for being late, she asks Aesha if she can go eat.

“You start at 9:15, so you should have eaten before you started,” the chief stew says. But then she relents and says Ellie can go eat. “Just clear the breakfast table first.”

A short time later, one of the guests says someone left a phone in their cabin.

“Oh, that’s Ellie’s,” Aesha says. When she returns it to her, she tells Ellie she shouldn’t be walking around with her phone. Aesha needs hers for provisioning, but the rest of the crew should leave their phones in their cabins when they’re working.

“I’ve been working my ass off this entire season,” Ellie complains in a confessional. “I am aspiring to be a chief stew, so I wonder if she doesn’t like that? Aesha seems to be taking me for granted now. She’s recognizing my efforts less and less. My chief stew, instead of mentoring me, she’s treating me like I don’t belong here.” Ellie is starting to get on my last nerve.

A dessert disaster

Captain Sandy has tolerated Chef Jono long enough on Below Deck Med.

While cleaning the guest cabins, Ellie and Bri decide they regret ever fighting over Joe. They’re both over him.

“Have you noticed how well we get along when Joe’s out of the picture?” Ellie asks. “I regret allowing a random man to make me look like a dumb bitch. He really did go back and forth between both of us. Played with your head, played with my head. That’s f*cked up. That’s not how you treat women.”

“This is the best interaction Ellie and I have had since the beginning of the season,” Bri interviews. “I do feel really guilty about ‘the bathroom incident’ with Joe. It can just never be spoken about. Ever.” Oh, but we will .

As Sandy heads off to bed, she gets a text from Norma. “Found you a stew that could start tomorrow,” she says. “Still no chef, but I promise I’ll have someone by tomorrow.”

The 25th-anniversary dinner goes well … until they get to dessert. The guests are hoping for a chocolate soufflé or maybe crème brûlée, but Aesha is disappointed to see what Jono has prepared.

“It’s a cookie/chocolate cake sandwich [and it’s] gluten-free,” Jono explains.

“It’s a cookie on a cake,” Aesha says with dismay. The scoop of ice cream doesn’t add a lot of excitement. Come on, Jono, your job is on the line. Can’t you do any better than that? That’s underwhelming.

And the guests agree with her. “That’s not what I wanted,” moans the woman whose anniversary it is. “You know what? Just take it back, ‘cause I don’t even want it.”

“To see a cookie with ice cream on it,” she continues, “when we all had on our preference sheets ‘soufflés, crème brûlée.’ Come on! It’s our anniversary.”

Chef dodges a bullet

Chef Jono might need to rethink his career after Below Deck Med Season 9.

After the guests leave, Sandy pulls Aesha aside for a chat. “How was dinner?” she asks.

“It was fine,” the chief stew responds. “But then for dessert, he did a chocolate chip cookie … Janie was pissed. It was so embarrassing.”

“I don’t blame her,” Sandy agrees.

When Aesha leaves, Sandy calls Jono to the bridge. Uh oh. Here it comes.

“I have to let Jono go,” Sandy interviews. “The fact that a cookie was served for a 25th-anniversary dessert. On top of everything, Jonathan served raw fish to the person who could die from raw fish. I should fire him just for that.”

But just in the nick of time, Sandy gets a text from Norma: “Sandy, so sorry. I can’t find a chef available right now.” Norma might just have saved Jono’s cookies.

When Jono arrives, they sit down. “So, serving the guests raw fish,” she begins, “that’s a fireable offense. I’m not gonna do that [today]. But this can’t happen.”

“Okay,” he responds, not realizing how close he came to losing his job.

“Now the dessert last night,” Sandy continues, “[the guest] was really upset. I’m not sure why a cookie would be served. Why didn’t you do a crème brûlée or whatever was on their preference sheet?”

He says he just ran out of time. They really should have a sous chef on these superyachts. It’s not fair for one person to be expected to create such amazing food without help.

But Jono promises to bring it for the rest of the season. He doesn’t know that the only reason he isn’t fired is that there’s no one to replace him.

The tip meeting

Below Deck Med Season 9 cast waving.

Despite the disappointment in the weather, the dessert, and Jono’s almost killing one of the guests, the tip is $25,000. Sandy also announces that now the forward cabin is repaired, they have room for another stew, who will join them later today. Ellie looks annoyed, but Joe smells fresh meat. Ugh. Keep it in your pants, Joe.

“Where is this coming from?” Ellie asks. “Do we need a new stew?” Um, hello. Did you not notice your boss working 18-hour days while you were sleeping late?

Bri just hopes for no more drama. And lucky Iain is getting his own cabin. Bri will bunk in with Jono, Gael will return to her original cabin with Aesha, and the new girl will move in with Ellie. Good luck, new girl.

While everyone else is happy to relocate, Ellie complains that she “can’t catch a break.” This is life on a yacht, Ellie. You don’t get a private room unless you pay for it.

For her part, Aesha interviews, “Someone new coming on board is good, ‘cause I’m being spread way too thin. But I know it’s gonna affect the dynamics of the crew. Ellie is seething in her cabin, and I feel this could mark the point where things go south with us. It could blow everything up. But at this point, I don’t care. I need the help.”

And as soon as he hears the new girl is coming down the dock, Joe rushes out to meet her. Down, boy!

Below Deck Mediterranean  airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
