NEWPORT HARBOR YACHT CLUB WEDDING | Hannah + Dan

Where to even begin with Hannah and Dan’s wedding day? The gloomy weather did not dampen the sunshine that radiated from Hannah, Dan, and their friends and family all day long. Everyone was so full of joy and excitement as Dan and Hannah tied the knot. The two said their I do’s at Community Church Congregational in Corona del Mar. It was the perfect location for their intimate ceremony that was filled with little giggles and happy tears from the church benches. They then sailed into their reception by yacht greeting their guests from the water and enjoying some alone time between the ceremony and reception. I’m sorry, but can everyone enter their reception by yacht? Thank you so much! It was such a cool experience and the guests were wow’d for sure!

The details, oh the details!! The florals that filled the reception space were unreal. Lush greenery, white buds, and little blue touches were such a compliment to the Newport Yacht Club reception space. Beautifully hand tied napkins, individual menus for each guest, and hand placed name cards made for the perfect touches to elevate their design. But the wow factor? The floral lined band stage!! Hannah and Dan celebrated with a grand entrance, sweet first dance, and private cake cutting. Their favorite people toasted to the couple with sweet stories  and memories of childhood and then they danced the night away! Hannah even had a reception dress change that took everyone’s breath away. I am here for the reception dress change trend!

It was truly a night to remember! Thank you Hannah and Dan for having my team there to capture your special day and a huge shout out to my amazing associate team Becca + Paige for capturing this amazing day!

Newport Harbor Yacht Club Wedding Photography

It was so great to be back to the Newport Harbor Yacht Club for Claire and Roberts wedding! The newly remodeled clubhouse is absolutely gorgeous. The wedding day started down the street at the Lido House hotel. The bridal suite was so cute! It totally fit the theme of the wedding day with all of the nautical decor. Wendy with Chic Productions was there keeping everyone on schedule and even steamed the dress!

After taking the getting ready and family photos at the Lido House, we met up with Robert and his family at the church for formal photos. After their beautiful traditional ceremony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church , they jumped in their hot rod Woody and drove the Newport Harbor Yacht Club.

Once we arrived to the Newport Harbor Yacht Club, we took a few more family formals and had time to walk around with the couple. Cocktail hour was going on upstairs on the deck while we took romantic photos with the Newport Harbor as their backdrop! The day passed by so fast! (that is how you know it was a fun wedding) The next thing we knew, the grand entrance was underway and the rest of the party was a blur! Congrats guys! We hops to see you again when your family grows! 🙂

Balboa Island Wedding | Newport Harbor Yacht Club Wedding Reception

When these two Corona Del Mar natives were designing their wedding, it was imperative that Newport Beach play a prominent role. From their gorgeous Balboa Island wedding ceremony at Saint John Vianney to their Newport Harbor Yacht Club wedding reception, it was an affair to remember.

Preparation at Balboa Bay Club

We began the day at the Balboa Bay Club, where Hayden and her bridesmaids were getting ready.  The Club is a sprawling, bay front resort across the bay from Balboa Peninsula. It is wonderfully furnished and convenient to all things Newport Beach.

Hayden has the finishing touches of makeup applied by her makeup artist. Once the look is complete, they pop a bottle of Dom and celebrate the day!

The first bottle didn’t last long.

Hayden’s gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown was something else.

I love a good bridesmaid reaction shot!

Proof that one doesn’t need an amazing setting for a great portrait. This little alcove was just down the hall from Hayden’s room. The perfect light and privacy made it a great spot for this picture. On the right, Hayden and her bridesmaids trying to lighten the mood before things get serious.

The Balboa Island Wedding

Hayden and Curtis held their Balboa Island wedding ceremony at St. John Vianney chapel, a gorgeous church in the heart of Balboa Island.

Kind of an Abbey Road vibe 😉

Hayden and Curtis wave from inside their vintage Rolls Royce as they head toward the reception.

Hayden and Curtis’s most important request was to spend some time photographing them while the Balboa Island Car Ferry took their car from Balboa Island to the Peninsula.

The ferry holds around about three cars and it takes about 5 minutes each trip. We had enough light in the day to go back and forth twice. Curtis, ever the gentleman, helps bride Hayden out of their vintage Rolls Royce limousine on the way to their Newport Harbor Yacht Club wedding reception

The ferry dumps off passengers right at the Balboa Fun Zone, one of the last great coastal amusement areas.
