Marina Variety Store Restaurant

Comfort food and stunning seaside views are on the menu here at the family-owned Marina Variety Store Restaurant. Since the 1960’s this Charleston gem has been a go-to for seafood specialties featuring beloved classic flavors sure to please the whole family. Skip the overpriced breakfast spots and sidle up to a piping plate of Fried Green Tomatoes Shrimp and Grits, Down South Chicken and Waffles, or Crab Cake Benedict. You’ll thank us later.

Freshwater & Saltwater Fishing

Grab your tackle box, cooler, and a friend–the waters around Charleston are home to a beautiful variety of freshwater and saltwater fish ripe for the catch. Species include spadefish, red drum, black sea bass, king mackerel, cobia, marlin, and even sharks! Whether you prefer to fish from the beach or plan to charter a boat for a full day on the water, there’s no shortage of opportunities for landing a fresh catch during your stay in the Holy City.

Folly Beach

No trip to Charleston is complete without a day at the legendary Folly Beach. In this gorgeous stretch of wide, sandy, coastline, you’ll find the perfect setting for anything from kayaking and fishing to eco-tours where nature lovers can learn about the endangered species native to the area. The sunsets here are everything to write home about—so gather the family and bring a camera to capture the special moment you can look back on fondly for years to come.

If you’re going to eat one meal in Charleston, make a beeline for FIG, (an acronym for “Food Is Good”) the classy neighborhood bistro serving up a bounty of seasonal dishes with local ingredients and Lowcountry flair. FIG’s ever-rotating seasonal menu is creative yet approachable, paying homage to the traditions and people that sustain it. You can’t go wrong with any of the seafood—it’s all fresh and delicious—especially when paired with a selection from FIG’s James Beard Award Winning wine program. Cozy, low-lit and unpretentious, FIG is the perfect choice for any celebration or occasion—but be sure to make reservations in advance.

Church & Union

This refurbished church turned New American restaurant has become a culinary holy site in the heart of the Holy City, courtesy of Top Chef Alum and partner, Jamie Lynch. Casual yet refined, atmospheric but approachable, Church and Union is a fantastic spot for groups to gather. The brunch is sublime, (think Fried Chicken BLT and Praline French Toast) but stick around for dinner and cocktails for some of the most delicious–and righteous–dining in town.

The Harborage at Ashley Marina is located on the downtown Charleston, SC  peninsula within walking distance to nearby historical sites, restaurants, and shops. It is the perfect location to dock your vessel whether temporarily or long-term.  The Harborage at Ashley Marina accommodates vessels up to 120 feet in length with approximately 230 slips conveniently located north of the James Island Expressway on the Ashley River offering shelter from strong winds and seas. So, whether an investor, owner, transient, boat or yacht enthusiast you will be made to feel at home here at The Harborage at Ashley Marina!

Here to Serve You

The Harborage at Ashley Marina is a convenient place to dock both recreational and live-aboard vessels.  With  approximately 230 wet slips, the facility is a vibrant part of Charleston's historic downtown. The day to day operation and maintenance of the facility is self managed under the oversight of the elected Harborage at Ashley Marina Condominium Association  Board of Directors.

Creating a community on the water

The Harborage at Ashley Marina Condominium Association was formed as dockominium in 2006 and is the Marina slip-owners association that governs Ashley Marina's commercial and residential use.  The marina is governed by the Master Deed and By-Laws set forth in the Articles of Incorporation for the Harborage at Ashley Marina Condominium Association and the Rules and Regulations that are amended from time to time by marina management and Board of Directors.

Current Board of Directors include D. Cooke Jr, J. Krupa, D. Sutton, K. Smith, J. Mazzoli

The Harborage at Ashley Marina is one of the premier marina facilities with slips available for individual ownership in the Charleston Area.  Membership in the association is available through slip ownership and does require ongoing financial contribution via quarterly dues as determined by the quarterly assessment.  While we invite any boat enthusiast to dock with us, residential privileges are limited.  At present, only current slip owners and grandfathered long term lease tenants (01/01/2016) may elect to live-aboard their vessels, and must do so in their owned slip.  As a reminder, all vessels entering the marina must keep a minimum of $500k liability on their vessel and include the Marina added as an additional insured, and all owners and tenants must abide by the Rules & Regulations.  For slip purchase availability, check out the Listing page.
