A DAY ON THE YACHT

There are many different types of guests who visit Croatia, and all of them have a different set of standards and expectations when it comes to their holidays. Some want to experience Croatia`s mainstream summer offer, while others opt for a more subtle and private approach to their holiday. For those guests who enjoy peace and quiet, JANTAR yacht charter will offer transportation to Maun, a sleepy island located 9 kilometres west of Pag island.

To get to Maun, the easiest route would be to arrive in Zadar by plane and then board JANTAR in the Zadar marina. Arriving in Zadar will also give charter guests a chance to experience the medieval atmosphere of this ancient coastal city . Plan for a short sightseeing tour before heading out to Maun and you will get to enjoy all the neat things on Zadar`s “Not to be Missed” list.

With help from a local tour guide, hear the sounds of the Sea Orgon or enjoy the show of the Sun Salutation light installation, all the while being surrounded by gothic and baroque architecture.

It is also possible to organize lunch in Zadar prior to your departure, but this depends only on your preference. Whatever the outcome, once you are ready to depart Zadar, JANTAR yacht charter will be waiting for you in the marina, and you will recognize her thanks to her crew who will greet you at the dock and help with the boarding and baggage procedures.

During the cruise, you may want to relax in the interior salon or on the flybridge, from where you can follow the transformation of the surroundings until you finally reach your destination.

The enchanting allure of Maun consists primarily of the fact that this island does not belong to Croatia`s mainstream tourism paths, attracting yacht enthusiasts and solitude-seekers instead.

Once you arrive, you will notice that there are only a few houses on the island, that are only inhabited during the summer. Despite its small size of only 9 kilometres in length, Maun island has a history spanning almost a thousand years, being mentioned in a document from 1069, when it was given as a present by the Croatian king to a monastery in Zadar.

If you have decided not to have lunch in Zadar, you may do so on JANTAR yacht charter, once the captain finds a bay that offers an atmosphere that is suitable for a quaint yacht lunch.

After lunch, the crew will take out the water toys so you can experience JANTAR`s rich toy offer; Maun is extremely popular among scuba divers and snorkelers, due to the particularly rich seafloor.

Since there is no dedicated chef, you can expect your stewardess to prepare some fantastic local dishes, but for other occasions and situations, you will have to depend on your cooking prowess.

Regardless, you can expect something along the lines of a brudet, which is a Croatian fish stew, made with fresh fish, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and herbs. This will be followed by a grilled or baked Sea Bass, seasoned with olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper, and then grilled or baked to perfection.

And for dessert, fritule – a Croatian sweet treat in the form of fried doughnuts that are flavoured with lemon zest, brandy, and raisins. They are dusted with powdered sugar and can be served with a side of honey or chocolate sauce.

Alternatively, you can always dine in one of 10 Michelin restaurants in Croatia , or experience many other numerous exclusive restaurants that are scattered around the Adriatic coast.

To get a complete picture of the potential behind JANTAR, guests usually start the tour of the yacht from the aft section on the main deck. Here, a fixed extendable dining table is surrounded by movable chairs and a sofa bench which is nestled against the exterior wall of the superstructure, enabling easy passage for guests and crew between different sections of the yacht.

From this area, guests can enter the interior or walk on either side of the side deck and reach the charming forward-facing sunbed, located on the bow of the main deck. This mini sundeck is perfect for guests who want to work on their tan, while also enjoying the beautiful Adriatic vistas, regardless if JANTAR is stationary or underway.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: Main Salon & Dining Area

Brown matte wood in combination with white leather panels makes up most of the flat surfaces in the salon, exuding a luxury vibe. The natural and inviting atmosphere is due to the heavy use of natural materials and relaxed lines and angles, which generate informality.

The layout of the interior salon consists of a portside placed lounge arrangement, made out of 3 separate sofas, movable chairs and a fixed regular table, enabling guests to eat, drink, play or hang out in the salon, without worrying about usable space. The starboard side is lined with hip-high brown wood cabinetry, which is ideal for storage but also houses the pop-up TV.

Communication between guests is easy between the exterior and interior because there is no fixed wall dividing them, only a wide glass sliding door.

To port, a C-shaped dinette, encircling a fixed coffee table and providing a second alfresco dining option, which is incredible, considering JANTAR`s length. To starboard, cold storage drawers, including a drinks cooler and an ice maker, both of which are perfect for combating the worst of the summer heat in Croatia.

A foldable bimini provides guests with a choice; either they want to be illuminated by the sun`s warm rays or totally excluded from any warmth, finding refreshment in the shade provided by the bimini.

The exterior helm station is located to port, and this is where guests will most likely talk to their local captain about nearby places of interest and similar facts about Croatia and the Adriatic.

YACHT LOWER DECK

The guest accommodations on JANTAR yacht charter consist of 3 separate cabins: a master cabin, a VIP cabin and a twin cabin. Each of these is well-appointed and contains everything a charter guest should or could need during their yachting holiday in Croatia.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: Master Cabin

The atmosphere in the full beam master is warm and inviting, primarily because brown matte wood is used heavily, on frames, carpentry, furniture and accessories. This creates a natural space, where guests can find rest during the day or comfort and snugness in the evening.

The carpet on the floor provides a warm and fuzzy surface for barefooted guests, as well as a contrast to the wood-dominated décor. Adorned with a wide mirror above its headspace, the queen size berth is placed in the centre of the cabin, with portholes on either side providing plenty of daylight, which then reflects against the mirror and illuminated the entire interior of the master.

There is even a compact vanity table with a chair, which will make putting on makeup an easy ordeal. When it comes to the ensuite, it also heavily features wood as the main decorative element, with a white marble countertop around the sink.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: VIP cabin

The layout and architecture of the VIP cabin is so genius, guests do not even notice that it is placed in the bow. Hip-high cabinetry, shelves and nightstands are all covered with the same wood used throughout JANTAR yacht charter.

Positioned for maximum stability, the queen-size berth also sits on an elevated platform, providing sound and stable sleep without much rolling. Portholes on both sides of the hull supply the VIP with plenty of natural light during the day, making this area feel natural and inviting.

Featuring brown wood carpentry and cabinetry, the twin cabin is compact and comfortable, ideal for a kid`s cabin on a family charter vacation. The twin berths are divided by a single nightstand, and a wide porthole provides natural lighting for the twin, with the ability to also open and to let in the fresh sea.

The twin ensuite provides all the necessary facilities, so guests do not need to share bathrooms.

The swimming platform is big and spacious, considering JANTAR`s length. It will allow guests to pick and choose between different water toys, or relax near the surface of the sea. Captain Ivo Tudor was born in Split where he got a degree in mechanical engineering. Captain Ivo has all the necessary certificates: Yacht-Master 100 BRT, Advance firefighting, Advanced medical care certificate, Medical first aid, Automatic Radar Plotting Aid operation level, Basic training and General radio operators certificate (GMDSS ). Captain Ivo is married, and he is a proud father of two children. His favourite hobby is fishing, especially underwater fishing. During the autumn and winter period, he looks after his family's land on the island of Hvar, helping with many olive trees and vineyards.

Stewardess Zorana was born in Split where she got a degree from the School of Tourism Industry. She studied Economics at the Faculty of Economics in Split and got a Management degree in small enterprises. During the last few seasons, Zorana worked as a hostess on luxury motor yachts and gained valuable experience. She has always been passionate about the sea and has spent most of her childhood summers on board a boat with her family. Her natural caring and friendly personality will ensure that the guests are well looked after. Zorana is a perfectionist who will apply extremely high standards to her work, she has a high level of professional and personal integrity. Zorana has excellent knowledge of English and basic knowledge of Italian.
