The 43 M sailing yacht ‘Cavallo’ is enjoying yet another cruise in the glorious Whitsunday region. Once again availing ourselves of the excellent facilities at Coral Sea in the bustling township of Airlie Beach to do our preparations it took no time convincing us to cruise the area again, this time utilsing some of the new designated anchorages that have recently become available to larger yachts. As we typically draw more water than other smaller yachts we find we are no hinderance to them and they usually give us a wave before going in closer to anchor. The anchorages are well spaced around the compass points to provide options for all wind and swell directions. We now have better access the many walking trails and the famous pristine beaches that the Whitsundays have to offer. I’m a long time convert to the cruising possibilities here and this now makes the experience far more feasible and more complete! I’m sure other yachts like ours will follow.

Our Motor Yacht Vegas cruises the Whitsundays and surrounding Great Barrier Reef extensively for 4 months of the year. Every year. We are in the region around Late July early August and do not leave until early December. We have cruised extensively throughout Australia and the South Pacific Islands all the way to Tahiti. We use many marina facilities throughout our travels. Whether it be long term or casual berthing, provisioning or overnight stays. There is no equal to the reception you get on arrival at Coral Sea Marina. It is not just the pleasant, well-educated staff. Or the effort they go to from the time they take your call on the phone to make a booking to your arrival at the dock. It is the culture instilled in everyone involved at Coral Sea Marina. Paul has built by far the best superyacht destination in Australia. It does not stop there. Paul and his highly motivated team ensure your stay is as stress free as humanly possible. They go out of their way to ensure this happens. The marina provides courtesy cars. They provide Helicopter transfers between the mainland and the airport on nearby Hamilton Island. Paul himself is Yacht owner and this reflects in the service he provides to other yacht owners from the many years he has cruised the waters in and around Australia. You cannot provide a better service unless you have experienced what other marinas offer. Coral Sea Marina has not been built on chance. Paul has designed the Marina around how he lives. You treat others how you would like to be treated yourself. He has staked his reputation on it. And all this reflects on the outstanding staff he employs and the destination Coral Sea Marina is. The facilities and infrastructure of Coral Sea Marina and the ongoing development of services the marina provides for all yacht uses in the Whitsundays, is second to none. Without question, every year since Paul and his talented team of individuals took over Coral Sea Marina, we get excited heading back there.

The Whitsundays

Glowing with beach-glamour and dripping in first-class hideaways, the group of islands known as the Whitsundays are both indulgently luxurious and stunningly beautiful.

Made up of 74 picture-perfect islands and bordered by the Great Barrier Reef, their brilliant seas and underwater delights are hard to resist.

Located just off the east coast of Queensland, Australia’s sunshine state, the Whitsunday Islands lie amongst the Coral Sea; rightly earning their place among the South Pacific’s most majestic island groups. National parks, coral cays and sublime beaches make up the majority of the landscape while wilderness retreats and hedonistic spas also have their place.

The Whitsundays are widely regarded as one of the true yachting pleasure grounds of the world with smooth waters, spectacular reefs and balmy rainforests that are just as amazing to gaze upon as they are to explore. Paired with superb deep water anchorages and five-star resorts, there is no surprise as to why this region continues to attract the yachting elite.

The region is excellent for both crewed and bareboat charters with its easy navigation, close proximity of the islands and a first-class combination of untouched natural sights and modern indulgences. Most yacht charters will often start at Hamilton Island where guests can fly in, or the small but lively boho town of Airlie Beach known as the gateway to the Whitsundays.

Both Airlie Beach and Hamilton Island boast world-class superyacht infrastructure and luxury amenities to act as a base for exploring the region. Hamilton Island Marina places superyachts in the centre of the Whitsundays cruising grounds, and is very much a destination within a destination with an array of bars, restaurants throughout a phenomenal luxury resort.

Luxury Island Resorts

The Whitsundays are truly blessed with immersive luxury experience which take superyacht charters in the region to the next level. Only eight of the islands are inhabited, with the most popular being the exclusive Hayman, the water-sports mecca of Hamilton Island and the appropriately named family favourite Daydream Island. For something a little more off-beat, sail down the Cumberland Channel to visit the lesser-known islands of Goldsmith and Tinsmith in the Sir James Smith Group.

Hamilton Island is the largest of the islands and is easily accessible for superyachts due to its fantastic marina facilities. The Qualia Resort on Hamilton Island is one of Australia’s esteemed Luxury Lodges, and is in itself a reason to visit the Whitsundays. Hamilton Island is a hive of water-based activities and opulent spas, and even has its own golf course for those keen to play a round in this paradisiacal setting. This is a favoured destination for superyachts in the region, and is often a reason why guests tend to either extend their stay or find themselves returning promptly.

In Airlie Beach, Coral Sea Marina is also linked to its own luxury resort by the same name, which it merged with in 2019 to complete an all-encompassing offering for visiting yachts. Coral Sea Resort has benefitted from significant investment to provide an enticing array of indulgent facilities, backed by outstanding hospitality and a passionate team. Airlie Beach town itself is a vibrant base filled with an eclectic mix of bars, restaurants and shops, perfect or both short of long stays.

Beaches and Diving

Diving, snorkelling, whale watching, and fishing are all there to be enjoyed in the Whitsunday Islands and it’s not uncommon to come face-to-face with turtles, sea eagles and ospreys during your journey. The soft white-sand beaches are another of the region’s biggest draw cards; perhaps the most breath-taking sandy stretch is Whitehaven Beach, coined “Heaven on Earth” by locals.

One of the most famous dive and snorkel sites in the Whitsundays is Heart Reef. This stunning coral has been aptly named after its natural formation into a heart shape, and sits in its own mesmerising reef lagoon. Throughout the Whitsundays, there are opportunities for divers and snorkelers of all levels to enjoy the wonders and colours of the reef. Gary’s Lagoon and Manta Ray Bay are both exceptional novice dive sites with abundant coral, while sites such as the Stepping Stones offer more advanced diving opportunities. Found in Bait Reef, the Stepping Stones are a unique diving experience made up of 18 flat-topped coral pinnacles lined up in a row, each rising from a depth of 15-25 metres up to one metre below the surface.

Cruising Highlights

Cruising the  Whitsundays  and  Great Barrier Reef offers endless itinerary possibilities. From a short three day weekend to a full two-week itinerary, there is so much to explore during the perfect Whitsundays adventure.

In August 2017, the Australian government opened up access to an additional  21 pristine anchorages  around the Whitsunday islands for vessels over 35metres, offering 27 anchorages total in varied spectacular locations. These anchorages now offer superyachts the accessibility to create a varied and interesting itinerary for vessel owners and guests.

With renowned island resorts, the seclusion of the Great Barrier Reef, the pristine white sands of world-famous Whitehaven Beach and a maze of tropical islands to explore, it is easy to understand why the Whitsundays is known as Australia’s premium cruising destination.

Recommended Itineraries  

10 Day Whitsunday Adventure Itinerary

Your voyage starts at the award-winning Coral Sea Marina Resort and takes you on a complete Whitsunday experience. Incorporating many of the newly opened superyacht anchorages, this itinerary can easily be extended for 14 days or more, if time permits.

DAY 1 – 2: Coral Sea Marina Resort/ Macona Inlet/ Luncheon Bay

Fly into the Whitsunday Coast Airport and enjoy a private helicopter service taking you directly to Coral Sea Marina Resort where your yacht awaits. This world-class marina has a concierge service committed to ensuring your boating experience has minimum hassle and maximum pleasure.

From here it’s a short 2.5-hour cruise past Pioneer Point and crosses the Whitsunday Passage to your first night’s destination at Macona Inlet on Hook Island. The next day checks out Luncheon Bay on Hook island for its exceptional snorkelling opportunities, coral gardens and teeming fish life.

DAY 2 – 4: Blue Pearl Bay/ Stonehaven/ Langford Island

From Luncheon Bayhead to Blue Pearl Bay, a stunning location that again offers amazing snorkelling with an abundance of fish and corals said to be some of the best the Whitsundays islands have to offer. Continue on your adventure to Stonehaven and anchor up for the night.

The next morning it’s an easy 30-minute cruise in the tender over to Langford Island where you can explore the coral cay and the fringing reef. Stroll on the sandy beach before heading approximately 3-hours to Hamilton Island.

DAY 5 – 6: Hamilton Island/ Turtle Bay/ Chance Bay

Your next stop for overnight is Hamilton Island. This modern resort island has boutiques, an exceptional day spa experience at a luxury resort, qualia and plenty of restaurants to choose from. For those golf lovers, take the short trip to Dent island and enjoy 18 holes with a stunning view of the islands and then lunch at the clubhouse.

Leave Hamilton island and head for Turtle or Chance bay on Whitsunday island, accessing the walking track of the Ngaro Sea Trial from Chance Bay to Whitehaven Beach and follow in the footsteps of the elders of the Ngaro Tribe, traditional owners of the Whitsunday Islands.

DAY 7 – 8: Shaw Island/ Thomas Island/ Lindeman Island

From Chance Bay travel south to Burning Point on Shaw Island before exploring Gap Beach and the national park walking tracks on Lindeman Island. If you are looking for seclusion the southern anchorages on Thomas and Shaw Islands will suit you perfectly.

A relaxing picnic on the beach or long lunch on the deck is in order, as you enjoy the tranquillity of these secluded waters.

DAY 9 – 10: Whitehaven Beach/ Tongue Bay/ Coral Sea Marina Resort

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Thomas Island before making your way to the iconic Whitehaven Beach, acclaimed as the best beach in Australia, with 5 kilometres of sparkling white sand made up of 98% silica a legacy of a geologic era when the sea level was lower. From Whitehaven anchor at Tongue Bay and enjoy the walk through the rainforest to the interpretive viewing platform overlooking the swirling sands of Hill Inlet. Arrange for the tender to collect you from Betty’s Beach and relax on deck, before heading back into Coral Sea Marina Resort.

Explore the Great Barrier Reef

Access to the  Great Barrier Reef   is a short trip from either of the Whitsunday superyacht marinas.

The Whitsunday Islands themselves are surrounded by fringing reefs, providing some great snorkelling opportunities, but for those wanting a real Great Barrier Reef diving experience, the below itinerary takes in some of the best locations the reef has to offer in this region

Day 1 – 2: Coral Sea Marina/ Macona Inlet/ Butterfly Bay

  Fly into Whitsunday Coast Airport and enjoy a private helicopter service to bring you directly to Coral Sea Marina where your yacht awaits. This superyacht marina has a dedicated concierge service committed to ensuring your yachting experience has minimum hassle and maximum pleasure. From Coral Sea Marina it is a short 2.5-hour cruise across the Whitsunday Passage to your first destination at Macona Inlet on Hook Island. Explore this fjord-like inlet by tender, enjoy an afternoon on the stand-up paddleboard, kayak or relax on the deck and take in the tropical serenity.

The next day after a light breakfast head north to the top of Hook Island and explore the snorkel sites at Butterfly Bay, Manta Ray Bay or Luncheon Bay. Vibrant soft corals, abundant marine life and fringing coral reefs are all there to explore under the water throughout the day.

Day 3 – 4: Hayman Island

The  Intercontinental Hayman Island Resort is worth a visit for a daytime excursion. Relax by the infinity pool with a cocktail, book a treatment at the award-winning day spa or sample a private lunch on the beach with cuisine prepared by a chef of your choice. Head over to Stonehaven anchorage to catch the last glimpse of the sun and enjoy drinks on the deck as the sun sets over another perfect Whitsunday afternoon.

Early morning head around to Blue Pearl Bay, snorkel the fringing reef along the island shelf or explore the coral beach in between the trees and during the wet season discover the natural waterfalls which spring up along the hillside.

Between June – October has a watchful eye on the horizon, as the annual humpback whale migration is in full swing and you may be lucky enough to spot a mother and calf frolicking in the turquoise waters.

Day 5 – 6: Bait Reef/ Fairey Reef

Wake up to the sound of silence as you enjoy the serenity of the outer Great Barrier Reef anchorages. Spend your days diving the famous Stepping Stones, which are unique in that you will find 18 or more flat-topped coral pinnacles lined up in a row along the southwest face of the reef. Living amongst this structure is abundant fish life, as well as many deep canyons and crevices to explore.

Little Fairey Inlet is a great spot for snorkelling as well as some exceptional diving along the wall of the inlet. Brightly coloured angelfish, coral trout and sweet lip will swarm past and the chance encounter with a blue-spotted lagoon ray or white-tipped reef shark is almost guaranteed. After a long day underwater, sit on the back deck and enjoy the clarity in the night sky as the milky way is clearly visible most evenings without a cloud.

Day 7 – 8: Hardy Reef/ Line Reef

For diving, fanatics head to Hardy Reef and spend your days exploring the range if different dive sites.

If diving is not your thing, then helicopter charters can be arranged from the pontoon at Hardy Reef offering an incredible perspective of the complexity of the reef system from the air. Hardy Reef is home to the Whitsunday icon Heart Reef, which is aptly named after the natural shape this reef has taken.

Some of the best diving at Hardy Reef can be found at Hardy Reef South where the shallow pools provide the ultimate haven for a range of fish life. At certain tides, the natural ‘waterfall’ can be experienced at Hardy Reef when the water is emptying from the reef and this is quite a formidable sight.

Day 9 – 10: Hamilton Island

Round off your 10-day itinerary with a visit to the island resort of Hamilton Island.

Take a private transfer to the Dent Island golf course and enjoy 18 holes or a long relaxed lunch at the clubhouse. Enjoy their resort-style nightlife with a sumptuous dinner at the architectural creation that is the Hamilton Island yacht club, or relaxes over sunset cocktails at One Tree Hill and experiences a 360-degree view of the Whitsunday Islands.

For those who enjoy hiking, wake up early and climb to the highest peak on the island – Passage Peak – as the sun rises over another perfect Whitsunday day. With day spas, boutiques and the award-winning qualia resort on the island, a visit to Hamilton Island could be the perfect way to end 10 days in the Whitsundays.

The Whitsundays is located along Queensland’s central coast in north-eastern Australia, approximately 1,120 kilometres north of Brisbane and 630 kilometres south of Cairns. Getting to the Whitsundays is easy with daily flights into the Whitsunday Coast via Proserpine airport (approx 30 minutes from Airlie Beach) and the Great Barrier Reef via Hamilton Island airports.

The subtropical climate provides beautiful summers and mild winters, making cruising a great option year round. Temperatures are similar to Honolulu in the northern hemisphere and Mauritius in the southern hemisphere.

The islands are sheltered by the Great Barrier Reef, which makes this tropical paradise ideal for swimming, snorkeling, diving or just dropping anchor in one of the many secluded coves. The region is famous for its crystal clear turquoise waters, colourful marine life including tropical fish, humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and an array of birdlife and offers some of the best sailing in the Southern Hemisphere. The Whitsunday islands are a complex ecosystem with thousands of animals and plants, including rare and endangered species.

The Whitsundays is home to well known islands such as Hamilton Island, Hayman Island, Hook Island and Daydream Island. Hamilton is the largest inhabited Island and a major arrival and departure point for the region with Hamilton Island Airport and Hamilton Island Marina being a key transport hub.

Surrounding the Whitsunday islands are ‘fringing’ reefs—coral reefs that form in clear waters around continental islands and occasionally along the mainland. Approximately 400 species of corals are found in the marine park, and exploring these reefs is one of the most popular visitor activities. Fringing reefs often contain a surprising diversity of corals, especially soft corals which survive better than hard corals in water with a high sediment load.

One of the most popular destinations is stunning Whitehaven Beach. Whitehaven Beach stretches for seven kilometres and is famous for its pure white sand. The sand is 98 percent pure white silica, which gives it a brilliant near luminescent colour. Whitehaven differs from most beaches in the Whitsundays, which tend to have coarser sand that includes fragments of shell and coral. Popular spots for snorkelling are the northern bays of Hook, Hayman, Black and Langford Islands. Many visitors comment on the aquamarine shade of the sea throughout the Whitsundays. Very fine sediment suspended in the region’s waters scatters sunlight as it penetrates the water, creating the shade of blue that makes the Whitsundays famous. The Whitsunday Islands National Park in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, is made of 74 islands and the best way to explore this beautiful region is by boat. Havanna Luxury Cruises Sample Itinerary - 12 Days Whitsundays to Lizard Island

Day one HAMILTON ISLAND Start your luxury sailing experience by flying into Proserpine Airport or Hamilton Island also known as the Great Barrier Reef Airport (HTI) This airport services all Australian major capital cities such as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane daily. There you will be welcomed by the crew from your luxury private charter yacht and taken to the yacht by private concierge.

Also recommended is a short stay before your private charter on Hamilton Island at either Qualia or the Beach Club Hotel which cater to the discerning guest.

Once you arrive on your sailing yacht, your crew will welcome you with oshibori & champagne and show a tour of the yacht. After which the captain will go through the safety procedures along with a planned itinerary of the private yacht charter.

Depending on the flight arrival time and the weather, after welcoming drinks we will set sail to one of the secluded bays in the Whitsunday Islands.

Suggested is Tongue Bay on Whitsunday Island. There we can visit the famous Whitehaven Beach and do a short 35 min walk to see the magnificent surroundings.  

Day 2: Great Barrier Reef Tour

BUTTERFLY BAY (WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS) We start the day with a gourmet breakfast on the top deck and set sail for the top of the Whitsunday Islands. We stop at any number of secluded anchorages on the way for lunch and a paddle board before arriving at Butterfly Bay.

On the northern side of Hook Island, Butterfly Bay is perfect for snorkeling and an excellent overnight anchorage spot.

Day 3 HeadIng North on the Great Barrier Reef

CAPE BOWLING GREEN

We get an early start and sail north.

Depending on the winds we will either end the day at Upstart Bay or Cape Bowling Green.

This area just south of Townsville is where the freight steamer SS Yongala sank in 1911. 

The area is lined with numerous sandy beaches interspersed with rocky headlands and fringing coral reef.

An absolute beautiful place to explore.

Day 4 Magnetic Island

MAGNETIC ISLAND, TOWNSVILLE After a sail of approximately 60 miles we arrive into Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island . The island features huge boulders, hoop pine forest and beautiful sandy beaches. Relax with a coffee on the quaint esplanade of Horseshoe Bay, walk the 3km of beautiful sandy beach or rent a famous topless car and explore the island. Magnetic Island is the perfect resting place for the night.

If requested we can visit Townsville , 3.5 nm away. The largest tropical city north of Brisbane, it features a beautiful beachfront promenade and a unique shopping and cafe culture.

Day 5 Orpheus Island

ORPHEUS ISLAND After a short sail of 40nm we will arrive at the Palm Islands. Orpheus Island is national park and unspoiled paradise with deserted golden beaches fringed with coconut palms.

Here our sailing yacht guests will check into the resort for the night, enjoy an exotic beach spa massage and a private dining experience on the island’s starlit pier.

Day 6 Hinchinbrook Island

HINCHINBROOK ISLAND Leaving Orpheus Island late in the day, it is only a short sail to Hinchinbrook Island. Completely uninhibited, Hinchinbrook Island is pristine and unspoilt.

There we will enjoy deep rock pools, waterfalls and sheer granite pinnacles.

Day 7 Bedarra Island Resort

BEDARRA ISLAND RESORT Leaving Hinchinbrook Island behind after lunch, it is a short sail to Bedarra Island Resort. The middle of three luxurious interludes off the yacht, guests experience a night of decadence.

With a maximum of 20 guests, Bedarra is the ultimate in exclusivity, Play a game of tennis, relax in the infinity pool or soak up the natural surrounds, Bedarra is luxury.

Day 8 Russell Island

RUSSELL ISLAND Leaving Bedarra Island later in the day, Russell Island is a good anchorage and stopping point half way towards Cairns. 

Part of the Frankland Island group, it is teaming with marine life especially green turtles.

Day 9 Green Island, Cairns

GREEN ISLAND, CAIRNS Leaving early from Russell Island, we set sail to Green Island , 15nm off Cairns. Green Island is a tiny forested coral cay surrounded by coral reef.

If requested we can visit Cairns and even overnight in the well appointed marina.

Day 10 Low Isles, Port Douglas

LOW ISLES PORT DOUGLAS Providing a nice comfortable anchorage, the Low Isles , 9nm off Port Douglas is a good stopping point.

The Low Isles lagoon is home to turtles and dominated by soft corals.

Day 11 Hope Islands

HOPE ISLANDS Named by Captain Cook in 1770, East and West Hope Islands are two beautiful and isolated coral cays surrounded by reefs and a deep channel between them. Perfect spot to snorkel and anchor for the night.

Day 12 Lizard Island

LIZARD ISLAND Arriving at the final destination of the North Queensland island private charter, guests are taken to the award winning Lizard Island Resort. 

Luxurious, secluded with sweeping beach views, the resort is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy before your flight home.

Charter Notes

The suggested route as described above has been designed for maximum comfort for the guests. It features no overnight sailing and aims to provide calm overnight anchorages (weather permitting). The sailing time varies from day to day with 30 to 70nm covered each 24 hour period. The charter can be as strenuous or relaxing as the guests want with many activities available both on land and on the yacht. The private charter can be extended or compressed to suit individual requirements. Three overnight ‘luxury stops’ are included at Bedarra, Orpheus and Lizard Resorts (Hotel accommodation is not included) Two marina stops are permissible with extra nights charged. Cancellation Policy

BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS: When booking our Havanna luxury charters - private charter yacht, guests agree to pay the applicable charges and to be bound by the following terms and conditions: Deposit: 50% of charter fee at the time of booking Balance due: 30 days prior to departure Within the 30 days prior to departure, no refunds or date transfers allowed unless agreed with the Captain in writing.1. DEFINITIONS In this AGREEMENT, the following terms have the following corresponding meaning: CHARTER means the cruise for which the CHARTERER is paying, and HAVANNA LUXURY CRUISES is providing. CHARTERER means the client who is paying for the CHARTER. CHARTERER’S GROUP means all passengers who will take part in the CHARTER. MASTER means the dully qualified person in charge of the VESSEL. VESSEL means HAVANNA mentioned VESSEL and Tender to Havanna specified in the schedule details. 2. INVOICES Invoices are only valid for 7 days, and CHARTER dates are still available to other parties to book until funds are received in HLC Bank Account. 3. SECURITY DEPOSIT The CHARTERER shall provide credit card details for a Security Deposit to HLC or BOOKING AGENT, prior to commencement of the CHARTER (held with credit card details on file). HLC or BOOKING AGENT may use the details if the CHARTERER or the CHARTERER’S GROUP causes damage or loss to the VESSEL during the CHARTER. 4. RIGHT OF REFUSAL HLC reserves the right to refuse bookings which contravene these Bookings Terms and Conditions. The CHARTERER must provide all necessary details to HLC about the CHARTER and the CHARTERER’S GROUP. 5. SPECIAL EVENTS, PUBLIC HOLIDAYS, AND PEAK SEASON All Public Holidays will incur a 20% surcharge and be dependent on the vessel’s location and HLC reserves the right to amend payment terms on these busier dates and the CHARTER FEE will reflect these increased rates. Special Events and Peak Season dates will also incur a surcharge based on the timeframe (Peak Season – Easter dates & 24th December – 1st January) 6. TENTATIVE BOOKINGS Tentative bookings will be held in good faith for a mutually agreed length of time pending payment of a deposit, or until another party wants to book the same date, whichever is sooner. The booking is not secured until a deposit has been received into HLC account and this signed AGREEMENT returned. 7. CONFIRMED BOOKINGS A CHARTER will be confirmed on receipt of the Deposit being cleared into HLC Bank Account and signed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. All bookings made within 30 days of the CHARTER Date require payment in full at the time of booking. Any payment confirms the CHARTERERS acceptance of these Bookings Terms and Conditions even if the AGREEMENT is not signed by the CHARTERER. 8. DEPOSIT The deposit payable is 50% of the TOTAL CHARTER FEE unless otherwise specified in the Deposit and Final Payments. If the CHARTER is booked within 30 days of the CHARTER, full payment of the CHARTER FEE is required. 9. FINAL PAYMENT Final payment is required 14 days prior to CHARTER unless otherwise agreed. 10. PAYMENT METHOD Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to HLC nominated Australian Bank account as stated on the invoice. 11. CANCELLATION More than 60 days prior: An alternative CHARTER Date may be arranged with no rebooking fee. Alternatively, the deposit can be refunded to the CHARTERER less 10% for booking and administration purposes. Between 60 – 21 days prior: Deposit is not refundable. An alternative CHARTER Date may be arranged. Between 21 – 7 days prior: Full payment is not refundable. If within these days the CHARTER is postponed at the request of the CHARTERER, then a 10% rebooking fee applies along with any rate difference. The alternative CHARTER Date must be confirmed at the time of postponement. Within 7 days prior: No refund, credit, or postponement will be issued, and full payment of the Charter Fee will be payable. Cancellation by HLC for; severe weather, safety, VESSEL inoperability, or any other reason is at the MASTER’s discretion. In the unlikely event of cancellation by HLC, where available, HLC reserves the right to substitute a suitable alternative VESSEL or an alternative CHARTER Date suitable to both parties will be offered. If nothing else is available or suitable, a refund will be given. All cancelations and postponements must be made in writing to be valid and considered. 12. RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL The VESSEL operates under the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and as such reserve the right to refuse service to the CHARTERER and the CHARTERER’S GROUP under 18 years of age or who is perceived intoxicated, for all CHARTERS including those who utilize Bring Your Own (BYO) beverage service. Wherever alcohol is served substantial food must also be provided by the CHARTERER to satisfy the RSA obligations. The VESSEL reserves the right to refuse entry to passengers who arrive intoxicated or to terminate the CHARTER if it is deemed that intoxicated passengers pose a threat to the safety of its passengers, crew, and VESSEL. 13. CHARTER COURSE The course to be undertaken during the CHARTER may be agreed in advance with HLC or with the MASTER on the commencement of the CHARTER. The CHARTERER acknowledges that the MASTER always has sole discretion to take whatever action is necessary to protect and maintain the safety, welfare, and good order for the VESSEL, its passengers, and crew with regard to; cruising course, weather conditions, anchorage, clearance, and any other activity on the water. 14. WEATHER CONDITIONS All CHARTERS will proceed regardless of weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by the MASTER on the day. Cancellation or rescheduling of the CHARTER by the CHARTERER to unfavorable weather conditions are subject to the cancellation terms in clause 11. HLC or the VESSEL are not responsible for the weather conditions and any adverse weather conditions do not give the CHARTERER the right to terminate the CHARTER. The MASTER will determine if the weather conditions are safe to operate the CHARTER as planned. There are no postponements for rain, strong winds, or unsavory conditions unless weather warnings are in place and the MASTER is solely responsible for calling a cancellation or postponement. 15. SHOES POLICY The VESSEL has a strict no shoes policy. All shoes will be collected prior to boarding and stored during the charter. Shoes will then be returned to guests to put on once disembarked from the VESSEL. Exception will be made by prior arrangement for guests with medical conditions that require them to wear shoes. 16. SMOKING POLICY HLC has a no smoking policy to avoid damage to the VESSEL caused by ash/embers. A designated outdoor smoking area onshore will be advised by crew for when the VESSEL is at anchor or berthed. Smoking of any kind (including e-cigarettes, unless given permission by the MASTER) is not permitted onboard at any time. Any damage caused by failing to comply with the no smoking policy may incur a repair fee. 17. EMBARKATION AND DISEMBARKATION The VESSEL will be available to guests at the agreed times stated in the PARTICULARS OF CHARTER. All passengers have 15 minutes to board and 15 minutes to disembark. Any guests who arrive earlier will be given access to the vessel, on the Master’s discretion only if the vessel is in readiness for guests. 18. SWIMMING AND WATERSPORTS ACTIVITIES Swimming and/or water sport activities, including the yacht toys, must be arranged ahead of CHARTER, so a suitable charter course and swimming location can be provided. Swimming and water sport activities are only permitted during daylight hours, when the VESSEL is at anchor, and all passengers entering the water do so at their own risk. HLC and VESSEL take absolutely no responsibility for your safety for swimming and any water activities that are used throughout the CHARTER. 19.1 ACTIVITY WAIVER An Activity Waiver will need to be signed at the beginning of the CHARTER by the CHARTERER and each of the CHARTERER’S GROUP if they wish to participate in any activities off the vessel during the CHARTER. 19.2 SWIMMING AND ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION HLC does not permit any swimming off the VESSEL or participating in any water sport activities after the consumption of excessive alcohol and reserves the right to prevent any passenger/s who are deemed unfit from entering the water to ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and equipment. 19.3 WATER SPORT USE Due care and diligence will be given to the sea state on the CHARTER Day. The CHARTERER acknowledges that the MASTER always has sole discretion to cancel water sports due to unfavorable weather conditions (including but not limited to wind, severe weather, tidal currents, or risk associated from marine wildlife). If an additional cost for Water Sport has been incurred, it will not be reimbursed to the CHARTERER. Any additional cost to hire an extra Crew for specific water sports will not be refundable. 20. LYCRA SUN SUITS During summer season (November to May) it is strongly advised for the CHARTERER and the CHARTERER’S GROUP to wear a Lycra sun suit, stinger suit when entering the water. If the CHARTERER or the CHARTERER’S GROUP fail to adhere to this advice, they do so at their own risk. 21. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CHARTERER The CHARTERER is at all times responsible for the conduct of the CHARTERER’S GROUP. All passengers fall under their responsibility. 22. DAMAGE TO THE VESSEL The CHARTERER shall be liable for any loss or damage to the VESSEL, or its equipment or fittings howsoever caused by the CHARTERER or the CHARTERER’S GROUP. Fair wear and tear are excepted, to a degree determined by the MASTER onboard and exceeding this – an invoice will be provided for payment to rectify if any have occurred below: a. Any Loss or damage to the yacht, its fittings, bedding, or any equipment, caused by the CHARTERER or the CHARTERER’S GROUP. b. Any unreasonable amount of excessive uncleanliness caused by the CHARTERER or the CHARTERER’S GROUP. 23. DECORATIONS The CHARTERER may place decorations on the VESSEL during the CHARTER ONLY if approved in advance. CHARTERER is responsible for set up and removal. Decorations must NOT be placed using adhesive tape, pins, tacks, or any other material which will damage or mark the VESSEL. All decorations must be removed at the end of the CHARTER. 24. LIMIT OF LIABILITY It is a condition of the CHARTER the liability of HLC, their agents, employees, and subcontractors is agreed to be limited in accordance with the Limitations of Liabilities and Maritime Claims Act 1989 and that any claim for loss or damage must be notified in writing within 7 days from the day of the CHARTER and any court action, suit or proceeding must be brought within 365 days of the CHARTER Date. 25. RISK WARNING There are inherent risks and dangers onboard any VESSEL. The CHARTERER and the CHARTERER’S GROUP participate in the CHARTER at their own risk. 26. INDEMNITY The CHARTERER agrees to indemnify and hold harmless HAVANNA LUXURY CRUISES their agents, employees, and subcontractors from and against any and all losses, claims, actions, costs, expenses, fees, damages, fines and liabilities (including reasonable legal fees) caused by any negligent act or omission by the CHARTERER or members of the CHARTERER’S GROUP including: a. Failure to follow any reasonable direction given by the MASTER or Crew; b. Failure to comply with any of these terms or conditions; c. Failure to comply with any warning signs; d. Unreasonable or unsafe behavior; e. Willful misuse of the equipment or facilities of the VESSEL; f. Intoxication or the use of prohibited drugs. 27. JURISDICTION The laws of Queensland govern this agreement, and the parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Queensland in respect of any disputes arising between them. 28. SAFETY – MASTER’S AUTHORTY The CHARTERER and the CHARTERER’S GROUP will comply with all directions given by the MASTER of the VESSEL. The MASTER at any time, can or will terminate the CHARTER if they: a. SAFETY BRIEFING: All guests must participate in a safety briefing issued by the MASTER and Crew at the beginning of the Charter. b. Safety compromised: If the MASTER believes the safety of the VESSEL or CHARTERER or the CHARTERER’S GROUP on the CHARTER to be at risk or refuse to comply with the MASTER’S directions, the CHARTER will be terminated immediately, and the VESSEL returned to the point of embarkation with no refunds or liability for early return. c. Illegal Substances: If the MASTER believes there is use of illegal substances onboard, the MASTER will terminate the CHARTER immediately and the VESSEL will be returned to the point of embarkation with no refunds or liability for early return. d. Jumping Overboard: If at any time, the CHARTERER or a member of the CHARTERER’S GROUP is to jump overboard whilst the VESSEL is moving, the CHARTER will be terminated immediately by the MASTER, and the VESSEL returned to the point of embarkation. The person may be reported to the QLD Water Police and face appropriate fines.

• All payments made are non-refundable unless the yacht is re-let for the same dates. If the yacht is re-let, the monies will be refunded less a 10% administration fee paid to the yacht.
• Cancellation outside of 60 days prior to departure: Guests are allowed to reschedule to other dates within a 12 month period.
• Within the 60-21 days prior to departure, no refunds or date transfers allowed unless agreed with the Captain in writing. Within 21 days 100% fee applies.
• If passengers elect not to travel due to weather conditions but the charter is still operational, 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Day 1-2: Abell Point Marina – Macona Inlet – Luncheon Bay

Fly into the Whitsunday Coast Airport and enjoy a private helicopter service taking you directly to Abell Point Marina where your yacht awaits. This world class marina has a concierge service committed to ensuring your boating experience has minimum hassle and maximum pleasure. From here it’s a short 2.5 cruise past Pioneer Point and cross the Whitsunday Passage to your first night’s destination at Macona Inlet on Hook Island. The next day check out Luncheon Bay on Hook island for its exceptional snorkelling opportunities.

Day 5-6: Hamilton Island – Turtle Bay – Chance Bay

Your next stop for overnight is Hamilton Island. This modern resort island has boutiques, an exceptional day spa experience at luxury resort, qualia, and plenty of restaurants to choose from. For those golf lovers, take the short trip to Dent island and enjoy 18 holes with a stunning view of the islands for lunch at the club house. Leave Hamilton island and head for Turtle or Chance bay on Whitsunday island, accessing the walking track of the Ngaro Sea Trial from Chance Bay to Whitehaven.

Day 7-8: Shaw Island – Thomas Island – Lindeman Island

From Chance Bay travel south to Burning Point on Shaw Island before exploring Gap Beach and the national park walking tracks of Lindeman island. If you are looking for seclusion the southern anchorages on Thomas and Shaw islands will suit you perfectly. A relaxing picnic on the beach or long lunch on the deck are in order, as you enjoy the tranquillity of these secluded waters.

Day 9-10: Whitehaven Beach – Tongue Bay – Abell Point Marina

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Thomas island before making your way to the iconic Whitehaven Beach, acclaimed as the best beach in Australia, with 5 kilometres of sparkling white sand made up of 98% silica a legacy of a geologic era when the sea level was lower. From Whitehaven anchor at Tongue Bay and enjoy the walk through the rainforest to the interpretive viewing platform overlooking the swirling sands of Hill Inlet. Arrange for the tender to collect you from Betty’s beach and enjoy your last night on the water, before heading back into Abell Point Marina.
