Originally the pier was built in the early 1900’s and served as the ferry from Gig Harbor to Tacoma.

Peninsula Yacht Basin was the first recreational boat marina in Gig Harbor opening 1947. Over the years the facility has gone thru many changes with the average boat in 1972 being under 30 feet and now our average is over 40 feet. Today our covered gated parking provides a secure area available 24 hours a day. When walking down our scenic pier one gets a feeling of days past and gives one a wonderful sense of nature. Peninsula Yacht Basin offers a great start for your boating experience.

Marina Features

• Located at the foot of Gig Harbor with a great selection of local restaurants, pubs and shops to keep you busy all day.
• Finholm Market is across the street to your left about a block and has ice, beverages, a good selection of food and snacks.
• Daily Dock master checks of the docks and boats with Christmas and Thanksgiving the exception.
• Our outside slips range up to 100′ feet with covered moorage from 36′ to 50′. Power and water available for all slips.

The Washington Land Yacht Harbor offers 111 vehicle storage sites, with RV wash & dump at an additional charge. We also offer seventeen (17) RV storage sites with electrical hookups, including 30-amp service.

Non-Discounted rates:

WA Unit & Affiliate Member discount rates:

• Dry Storage $75.00 per month
• Electric Storage $180.00 per month

About Oak Harbor Yacht Club

We are a private Club with a waterfront event venue adjacent to the Oak Harbor Marina. Members enjoy a variety of boating and non-boating social, recreational and educational activities. Our ballroom is rentable for special events, and memberships are available too, even if you don’t own a boat.

We are a community of people who love boating, but that’s not all we do. We also  enjoy good food, good company, and a good party every now and again. Our establishment is family-friendly and offers a little something for everyone.

Located on Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor is a vibrant community situated conveniently between Seattle and San Juan Island. This small town has been named so for its oak trees line the streets along with many hiking and biking trails as well. With majestic oak trees, spectacular farm land and magnificent coves and bays, Oak Harbor is breathtakingly beautiful and a must visit destination in the Pacific Northwest. From diving to hiking wildlife areas, Oak Harbor offers a bevy of can’t-miss things to do and see for visitors.

City Parks: Oak Harbor boasts a number of parks that offer visitors and locals recreational opportunities. Deception Pass State Park is the most-visited park in Washington with over 2 million visitors each year. It is one of the most photographed places in Oak Harbor. It features 4,134 acres of ancient forest with saltwater shores, freshwater lakes, camping grounds & 38 miles of trails. Several miles of the Pacific Northwest Trail are within the Deception Pass State Park. Plan a full day of walking, hiking, picnicking, beach-combing and kayaking. Windjammer Park is a 28.5 acre waterfront complex that consists of shoreline picnic tables, barbecue pits, picnic facilities, playgrounds, baseball fields, basketball courts, swimming lagoons and more. If you are looking for an urban park, visit Hal Ramaley Memorial Park, which boasts picnic tables and seasonal garden displays. Sailaway RV Park located adjacent to Windjammer Park operates 56 serviced sites with water, sewer, and electricity facilities. This park provides access to the Oak Harbor Waterfront Trail. Other parks that you can visit while vacationing in and near Oak Harbor include Beeksma-Gateway Park, Scuttlebutt Park (Flintstone Park), Smith Park, South Whidbey State Park, and VFW Memorial Park.

Best Beaches: North Beach is located in Deception Pass State Park. The beach is quite popular with tourists, especially during the summer months. Simply enjoy this beach, fish for Salmon off the shore or walk this peaceful beach while in the Deception Pass State Park. Dugualla Bay Beach area is popular for bird watching and salmon fishing. Dugualla Bay is one of the most important salmon habitats in Puget Sound, and is home to a variety of birds migrating through the area, including snow geese, western sandpiper, and several duck species. Rosario Beach is the lesser known section of Deception Pass State Park. Here you can enjoy picnicing, boating, kayaking, diving and swimming.

Adventurous Activities: Whether you play golf for fun or are a golf pro, you must visit Whidbey Golf Club while in Oak Harbor. It is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most exciting golf courses and accommodates players of all levels. Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is the fastest growing water sport in the world and is the best way to explore the shorelines of Oak Harbor. Kayaking Oak Harbor and surrounding areas is the most convenient, scenic, and affordable way to enjoy this scenic environment. If time permits, visit Farmer's Market as you will get to sample the best fresh and local food there. Other activities that you can try here include hiking, biking, dragon boating, and kite flying.

Whale Watching and Fishing: There are many opportunities to observe the orcas while cruising the waters of Oak Harbor and Whidbey Island. Apart from Orcas, you may also spot Grey Whales, Minke Whales, Porpoises, and other species. Take a unique ride on a private yacht charter and enjoy a 360° unobstructed view as you get to see these giant marine animals. While in the area, you may want to consider a day trip to the San Juan Islands for an even greater whale watching experience. The San Juans provide one of the best whale watching opportunities anywhere in the world. Their calm waters boast of a huge variety of wildlife which includes three pods of resident Orca whales. If you like fishing, you're in luck. Oak Harbor and its surrounding locations have amazing fishing spots as well. On your fishing excursion, you can catch a variety of Salmon, Sturgeon, Smelt, and more.

Oak Harbor Dining and Shopping: From American cuisine to Thai eateries, Oak Harbor is known for a wide variety of local and fresh seafood. When you visit Oak Harbor, give your taste buds a treat on some of the delicious dishes while at Frasers Gourmet Hideaway, Jumbo Burrito, Jeda's Thai Kitchen, Seabolt's Smokehouse, Teriyaki Time, Mi Taco is Your Taco, Alfy's Pizza at Water's Edge, and Riverside Cafe & Lounge Oak Harbor to name a few. Historic Downtown Oak Harbor has lots of boutique shops and wide sidewalks for easy strolling. You can visit these shops during your stay here: La Lonnie's Notions, Red's Boutique, The Purple Bench, Garry Oak Gallery, and Island Thrift, among others.

Day Trips: Oak Harbor is situated in an incredible region – Whidbey Island, and the potential for day trips is practically limitless. Visit Langley, another charming town in Whidbey Island with historic buildings, shops, flower-lined walkways, and art galleries. Hike Ebey’s Landing State Park alongside the Strait of Juan de Fuca. If you are food lover and enjoy shopping, then visit Coupville. Camano Island is an island getaway well within your reach. Take your private yacht charter to Camano and enjoy its pristine beaches and water sports. Desolation Sound is another destination in Washington, where you can go on a day trip to enjoy its breathtaking views and explore forests and wildlife.
