bayfield 25
- Add to quote
well, before i drive 300 miles to look at an Alberg 22, any opinion as to the stability of a Bayfield 25, which happens to be down the road from me? -- i know the cabin head room looks great, but i''ll bet the wider beam and 2''11 keel will make it less stable than the Alberg(or the Cape Cod Marlin, or the Whitby Continental) /?? -- thanks again, bob
Its more than a stability at stake. The Bayfield 25''s are lightly ballasted with ballast carried comparatively close to the waterline and a hull form that would be conducive to rolling. While none of these boats are especially fast sailer, the Bayfield would perform particularly poorly in either lighter (small sailplan) or heavier (poorer stability) winds. Jeff
thanks again, i was already having second thoughts
