Yacht Broker

Required for berthon international in spain.

English speaker minimum requirement. Spanish/German an advantage.
Already residing in Mallorca/EU preferred.
Full time, permanent position. Commission based.
Prior experience as a yacht broker in the Berthon market segment a requirement.

Overview of Position

Berthon Spain is located in vibrant Palma de Mallorca, heart of the Western Mediterranean yachting scene. This Sales Operation is already successfully selling brokerage yachts from 50 to 110 feet – internationally working with our team of brokers in the UK, Sweden and on the East Coast of the USA. Part of the Berthon Sales Group, we all work closely as a team and we are supported by an excellent marketing and sales support team in the UK. Our focus is to provide our brokers with the very best tools in which to sell yachts and to increase our market share.

We have a strong service company – Berthon Spain (Service), operating in Palma, with a crew of 40 technicians and support staff. This part of the business is also growing.

Berthon Spain (Yacht Sales) has just moved to a new office in Palma, overlooking Club de Mar and the bay of Palma. Berthon is committed to further developing this office which works closely with UK HQ, as Berthon has chosen Palma de Mallorca as its home in the Mediterranean. As part of this development, we seek a motivated and experienced Yacht Broker to work with us to build this business. The successful applicant will be ambitious, hardworking and a team player, working not just in the Spanish office, but with all Berthon’s international sales offices.

The successful candidate will work alongside Simon Turner, Managing Yacht Broker and Nathalie Miquel-Elcano Brokerage & Administration Support. The key difference with working for Berthon compared to other brokerage houses is the collegiate nature of the business and the level of support on offer. We pride ourselves on being a big family and UK HQ is always on the end of the phone.

There is potential for serious growth in this business for the right candidate and for them to play a leading role in this growth and a long-term career with us. We actively market our brokers as specialists and build their profile with that of Berthon.

Support in the office including a CRM package, mobile phone, business cards, computer and administrative support.
We advertise on all the normal platforms – Yatco, Yacht World, etc. as well as having our own highly optimised .com. Brokers yachts are advertised in the yachting press – Boat International, Yachting World, etc.
We have an inhouse photographer and prepare particulars, moving imagery and photography in order to enhance brokers’ listings.
We attend the major boat shows including the Palma Superyacht Show.

The person that we seek will, like us, be passionate about yachts and the yachting business.

A track record of sales success.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build Customer Rapport - spend time with customers to determine their needs and boat dreams, qualify them and discuss boat options for both new and used boats. We don’t just sell boats here; we sell dreams and build long lasting relationships. • Build Customer Trust - become an expert and gain in-depth knowledge of each brand and model. Take customers on test sails demonstrating features. We represent high quality brands delivering exceptional value including one of the largest brands in the world. • Manage sale negotiations – representing your customer, dealership and all vendors involved. • Manage details from offer through survey, demo to final close with title company • Follow up with prospective and existing customers and generate leads • Participate in rotating office schedule including weekends • Come have a blast with customers at company rendezvous • If you are experienced in providing exceptional customer service, have integrity, the drive to earn unlimited income and want to be a member of an professional sales team, we look forward to talking with you.
