ABSOLUTE YACHTS: THE STRENGTH OF AN “EXTENDED” FAMILY

Absolute Yachts welcomed us into the shipyard of Podenzano, few kilometres far from Piacenza, Italy, where we met Cesare Mastroianni, VP Sales and CCO of the brand. We learned everything about the origins of the company, the values which have contributed to its success , the spirit which drives it and its members, who have always believed in the strength of the group and this “extended” family . Moreover, we found out how ISS, their exclusive way to build boats, works.

How and when was Absolute Yachts born? The company was founded in 2002 by the will of the two founders , both with a very technical education – productive for Marcello Bé and project in the case of Sergio Maggi – who strongly desired to be independent from any external influence and free to start from the traditions and skills acquired before being innovative. The first establishment, seated in Carpaneto, was not optimized for boat construction and it was the place where the first small vessels, ranging from 24 to 45 feet , were produced. Then, the brand grew and, with it, boat sizes and the presence on the market: thus it became necessary to produce with more engineered techniques in a suitable seat. Between 2006 and 2007, the group inaugurated the new establishment in Podenzano, finally optimized to build boats in a modern way and with an advanced internal technological support.

Can you explain this in detail?

Nothing is left to chance and our attention to a “clean” technology is full. For example, the printing room is air-conditioned with a remote automated control which allows a very precise and remotely monitored environmental control both during the processing stage and the night seasoning of products. The establishment is very modern with no environmental impact since we work with geothermic heat exchangers which use an electric heat pump . In the different departments, especially in the printing, trimming and construction ones, the whole air treatment is made to reduce emissions completely.

A complex “machine” to arrange…

The whole complex worked fine until 2013. In 2014, additional spaces became necessary and this need resulted in an enlargement and restoration project of the current establishments which was completed in January 2017. Not because boats have become longer but because their type has changed: flyboats and trawlers are the dominant category now . In terms of moulds, superstructures double the necessary processing surface compared to that one used to produce their hull. Our new establishment has been exactly conceived for these “double boats”..

From what you said, it seems evident that in 2008, annus horribilis for the whole worldwide economy and boating, you, on the contrary, built a new establishment and started the production of new models… How was it possible?

Yes, it’s true. We reacted to the so-called “crisis” and while the others gave up, we launched some new products. Starting from 2010-1014 we revolutionized our product range and, since then, we have started a constant updating action. According to us, this was our most impactful element. Before 2008, the brand was not very popular beyond the Mediterranean and it didn’t have a universal range like today. It was mainly oriented to sport cruisers from 40 to 70 feet to be used in our seas. When the crisis came, we inaugurated our Absolute Global Project with the aim to create a range able to attract the different markets . Thus, we developed a series of specific technical, project and marketing measures to increase our presence in North America, Continental, Mediterranean and Northern Europe, Middle East, Asia, South-East Asia and Oceania . To do that, we had to design universally attractive boats.

Meanwhile, however, the market was deeply changed. Crisis has totally altered the scenario.

Yes, it has and we have seized this change. If major customers were previously oriented to a “status symbol” boat for an occasional use, today customers consider the boat as a source to be exploited. The idea is to invest money while enjoying the boat with family and friends and use it in seasonal terms. Boat owners need spaces and solutions functional to life on-board.

Can you give us some more examples?

The useful surface of our flyboats, when length is equal, is at least 30-40%, sometimes 50% larger than many competing boats which have maintained an outdated phylosophy of a time when aesthetics was much more important than space. We intervened technically to achieve all this. We moved the windshield forward, we straightened it, we made the astern terrace longer and now our flybridges are practically a second boat. It’s a work which starts early, since the first phases when boats are conceived.

So, a real industrial development of the project.

I’d say so. For instance, the choice to build larger boats in two parts which can be carried separately  on a truck allows us to have such internal heights no one else has. It was a specific engineering work. Our models, from 52 Navetta up, travel on two trucks to reach the sea before being mounted in a day and put into water. This is a very interesting technologic content.

Well, has crisis reinforced your group?

What was considered to be an economic crisis involving boating was a restoration for us. The world had created an unbearable “bubble” which, once burst, provoked a downsizing which resulted in a new opportunity for us. We immediately reorganized and adjusted our parameters to the new situation . Our workers was not affected by any lay-offs and no one was fired. On the contrary, between 2010 and 2016, our staff has practically doubled . We never stopped our production. We only changed direction and abandoned the old models by focusing on globalization. Since then, we have been following this tack in a systematic way.

But market numbers have decreased anyway. Are you broad-shouldered enough to bear all this?

The decrease in sales lasted a year and a half. Then, sales started to grow again. Our broad shoulders come from the fact we never acquired external finance as some other yards did . External finance only focuses on the cyclic nature of financial profitability and some “cold” established parameters. There isn’t the typical passion and availability to sacrifice of a businessman living his company. This makes us different from all the others and, even now, we continue to work with solely internal finance.

 Can you explain  us the entrepreneurial spirit of Absolute Yachts?

The management board–   Angelo Gobbi, Sergio Maggi, Paola Carini, Marcello Bè,   Giuseppe Bertocci  and Patrizia Gobbi – coincides with property and this, too,  is a strategic decision. When sacrifices were necessary, they did what any other businessman in the boating field has never maybe done: they invested further money, they greased and reorganized the machine. They are all technicians, born and raised in this field, with a very strong passion and dedication to their company. It’s an extended family. Moreover, we’ve internalized the entire production and planning cycle . We don’t have any kind of external collaboration. Of course, we’ve our suppliers but the boat is entirely designed, prototyped, developed and assembled here . All fiberglass structures are produced here. Having the whole cycle and the entire costs under control has allowed us to optimize costs during those troubled years without cutting the staff. The investment intended to create a real “know-how” starts from a “human loyalty”. Having formed a team has been an impressive capitalisation”.

How does this extended family work? Our organizational structure is not pyramidal but includes two different levels: a management board which shares methods, issues and solutions weekly and the team with which we work closely. There is no bureaucracy, no mandate, the process is immediate. The reactivity towards any event inside and outside the company is as quickly as possible.

Can’t this reactive family, where all decisions are made inside, represent a limit for innovation? Which ways are you following for the future?

We’re not alone in this process. We’re supported by our network of dealers to whom we repeat at every meeting – like a mantra – “ tell us all you grasp in the market “. We’re always ready to put ourselves at stake if customers don’t like something. If we realize we have something to change, we change it. We are always attentive to customers’ needs and we listen to them through our dealers or, where possible, directly. Moreover, we listen to the proposals or assumptions of our supplier s who, working in different fields such as construction, automotive and automation market, understand new trends before boating.

Your will to innovate is well-represented by your commitment to invest in IPS engines. Since the very first moment.

Yes, you’re right. In 2006, our choice to adopt Volvo Penta IPS engines as the only propulsion form was eye-opening. With them, we contributed to the development of IPS themselves. I mention some historic facts: IPS3 and IPS15 have benefited from our boats that Volvo Penta designers used to test new products. It’s not only a supply but a real collaboration and optimization. We were the first to use IP6 600 quadruple instalation on a 70-foot boat and IPS 600 triple installation on a 56-foot one.

We’ve saved the most important question for last. Can you describe ISS, your exclusive way to build boats?

The traditional method consists in extracting the hull from its mould and placing a “tray” on its bottom, where the different modules and systems are inserted. Then, the deck is added and the whole is closed. Our process is quite different. We print the hull while our joinery build interiors on a “fake “, a metal structure which simulates a boat. There, woods, multi-layer and composite elements, specifically made and cut for us by numerically-controlled machines, are bundled and transformed into a monolithic piece. Then, they are inserted into the hull while it is in the mould – there is no tray on the bottom – and bundled to the hull. We add the deck, which is first glued and then bundled. At that point, the boat is closed and sealed, still in its mould. After that, it is extracted and put down.  Only then, engines, tanks, batteries and systems can be mounted.

What’s difficult in this process?

First of all, you have to plan everything in 3D: lamps, drawers, screws… This takes many hours . But the advantage is that you have a perfect finished product and not a prototype. The is no margin of improvisation . Technicians have no decisions to make. We start from a precise codified and packaged basis. We know before what we will put on our boat and how it will work, including what comes from our suppliers.

What are the advantages? The boat is lighter but more rigid and we need less material to build it. There are no crunches or noise. The result is also a better thermal and sound insulation . The ISS  process allows to build the boat in two different parts for an easier transport and assembly. Future maintenance , too, becomes easier: “everything going in the boat can go out”, nothing has to be broken.

Absolute Yachts, when the made in Italy model is a success

In its just 18 years of existence, the Absolute Yachts shipyard has grown to be one of the most interesting players on the global nautical scene

Absolute Yachts is one of the few shipyards in the world that can boast a financial statement, which displays a nice and round zero under the item “debts”. This is where you need to start if you want to understand the continuous ascent of this all-Italian company, which has made financial rigour into its strength.

The double A bank rating, the 63 million Euro turnover, an Ebitda of 19.5 per cent, and 19 million in liquidity, allow it to face international markets with the necessary serenity . The economic and financial aspect, however, is only the premise of an entrepreneurial philosophy based on concreteness and on the idea of a cohesive society. The people who work in the shipyard are part of a large family where each member is called upon to make his or her contribution and to be fully aware of the importance of the role they play. Workers, craftsmen, employees, designers, and managers all move in harmony to obtain the very best.

Marcello Bè and Sergio Maggi founded Absolute in 2002, strong with their long experience in the industry and with their futuristic vision of how to do business in the nautical industry. The great turn of events came with a series of new entries into the company: Patrizia Gobbi , Paola Carini , Giuseppe Bertocci and Angelo Gobbi , who took on the presidency in 2007.

The partners all work in the company and each one deals with a specific aspect of the business, without saving either physical nor intellectual energy. The results are immediacy and sharing on every level, a clear awareness of the goals and methods established to obtain them, and the satisfaction of working in a cohesive team. In an environment like this, it is only natural to find material and immaterial elements of both individual and collective gratification .

Over the past ten years, the company has acquired international fame, wit h about 90 vessels produced per year, divided into four lines ranging from 40 to 73 feet , Flybridge, Sport Line, Sport Yacht, and Navetta . Thanks to 40 dealers, the brand is now distributed in 20 countries all over the world. We had the pleasure of visiting the plants exactly ten years after the construction of the new shipyards. Already then, it looked like the offspring of an innovative vision, thanks to certain choices that clearly showed an industrial development aimed at quality – both on the site and in terms of the people working on it.

The general feeling we had was a mix of amazement and admiration. Boats are products that require a great amount of manual work, which needs to be carried out by expert hands, and the industrial process must take this into consideration. In fact, to reach ideal results, both from the point of view of quality and from the point of view of financial competitiveness, everything needs to be strongly based on a valid project.

In Podenzano we had the pleasant feeling of standing in an authentic industry, where everything was thought through down to the smallest detail to obtain the very best result from every action. Over the past ten years, the automated vertical warehouse and ventilation systems in the lamination department have been doubled.

The facilities have moreover been equipped with an automatic resin feeding system and a new CNC work centre for the carpentry department and for the storage and automatic movement of plywood. The construction of a new pool to test all the on-board equipment is planned for 2019. Absolute Yachts independently manages every single stage of their boats’ life cycle : concept, design, engineering, modelling, creation of moulds and setup of the production, lamination, and structural assembly, installation and assembly of equipment and furniture, tests, delivery logistics, and final setup of the boat. The covered surface of the plant dedicated to production is 30 thousand square metres within an overall area of 58 thousand.

Angelo Gobbi is particularly proud of the flattering results obtained in recent years:

«We want people to understand who we are and where we are going, the nautical world has changed. When sacrifices were required, our company actually implemented what no other entrepreneur in the nautical business even envisioned: we invested even more financial resources in order to oil and fix the machine anew» .

Even during the toughest moments of the global financial crisis, when the consumption of luxury goods experienced significant reductions, the company stood strong: «We adapted, we changed our models and diversified in new countries where we could distribute our boats. In 2013, there was a significant recovery in our turnover, we conquered new markets and allowed the turnover to keep growing constantly. Today, 240 people work in our plant and offices producing about 90 vessels per year».

Shipyard review: Absolute, Italy’s inland innovators

Located over 100km inland of coastal cities like Genoa and yacht-building hubs like La Spezia and Viareggio, the Absolute facility is a self-contained hub of in-house innovation, automation, craftsmanship and friendly, family-style management. By Clare Mahon.

I’m driving around looking for the Absolute shipyard, my instincts and my navigation app at war. There’s not a body of water in sight. A green sea of freshly ploughed fields is all around me and the aroma is of farmland, not low tide.

Feeling I must be way off track, I pull over to see what’s wrong. Suddenly, a truck loaded with Volvo Penta IPS engines passes me. Follow that truck, I tell myself, and soon I’m there.

Sergio Maggi and Marcello Bè founded Absolute in 2002 in an area outside of Piacenza where the other major industry is … tomato canning. After all, Piacenza is in northern Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, renowned for its local produce including ham, salami, cheese and pasta, as well as wine.

This, plus the fact the Med is about 100km south, make it an unusual location for shipbuilding, but Maggi and Bè are locals and wanted to stay close to their roots and the hardworking local talent.

The two had met while employed at Cantieri Nautici Gobbi, but when the company was sold, they decided to branch off and establish a yard of their own. Four years later, looking for ways to increase automation in their production lines, they asked former boss Angelo Gobbi to join them at Absolute.

“We started with nothing much more than a good first boat,” Maggi says. “Going forward, we had an idea of what we wanted, but we didn’t know how to get there. Angelo is our visionary. He had the knowhow and guided us to where we are today.”

Absolute is all about teamwork and efficiency, not ego. Gobbi happily joined his former employees as a partner and put his skills to work creating a state-of-the-art facility spread over almost 50,000sqm – imagine seven football pitches – where boats are built using an optimised production chain called Integrated Structural System or ISS.

Hulls are hand-finished while their corresponding interior structures are precision cut by robotic arms using CNC technology. Dedicated teams then assemble the interiors in modules and lower them into the hulls.

After the interiors have been mounted and sealed, the hulls are taken out of their moulds and the running systems are installed. The organisation and automation are astounding, and the shipyard works around the clock.

After the human workforce goes home, robots and computers take over, fetching supplies from a large and recently expanded automatic warehouse then setting them up for the next day’s work.

While Absolute is open to every kind of software upgrade and technological improvement, Maggi says that building a yacht will never be a fully automated or entirely industrial process.

“We can try to organise delivery and production to the highest degree, but there will always be a lot of handwork involved in laying a hull and mounting running systems. We design everything in 3D and nothing is left to chance, but we will still always need humans to do quality control,” Maggi says.

It’s this blend of humanity and technology that makes Absolute Yachts special. Everything at Absolute is done in-house by a tightly knit team headed by management and ownership that are one and the same. “And we’re here all day, every day,” says Cesare Mastroianni, CCO and Vice President of Sales.

The shipyard staff is like an extended family, but unlike most families, they work well as a team and seem to like each other. This all-in-it-together approach allows Absolute to move quickly and stay flexible.

“We have invested in our people,” says Mastroianni. “We don’t need to have a lot of meetings. Sometimes we just discuss ideas by the coffee machine.”

IN-HOUSE CREATIVITY

Maggi, who on top of being a co-founder also heads the design department, echoes Mastroianni’s words.

“We believe in staying independent and doing everything in-house. Yes, maybe you miss having people bring you new ideas from outside, but if you do that, you’re always trying to chase a new concept, looking for solutions to new problems,” Maggi says.

“Absolute’s approach is more like adaptive evolution because the team that has created all the best features of previous yachts know which ones to apply to new models. We’re building on our experience and the suggestions we get from our owners and dealers.”

Absolute works with a ratio of about one stylist to three engineers. “The stylist does their part, then shows their work to the engineers and they take over the project,” Maggi says.

“This means we have a perfect synergy between our production and our style departments. They go hand in hand, and this helps us to guarantee quality. We don’t go for impact or extras – everything is functional.

“Maybe an owner who’s looking for a status symbol won’t like what we do, but an owner who wants to live aboard and enjoy their yacht in safety and comfort will find what they’re looking for in an Absolute.”

Keep in mind that these are Italians, so style, even if it’s functional style, is always part of the package, as are bon vivant touches like wine cellars and stemmed glasses designed to adhere magnetically to tabletops. And in a yachting market that’s constantly changing, Absolute likes to stay a step or two ahead.

“We try to come up with two new boat designs per year because the market is changing all the time,” Maggi says. “It usually takes us about a year to develop a model, but in my head right now I’m thinking of four or five new projects – two we’ve just begun, two in the final stages of planning and one that’s still to come. The cycle is continuous and keeps us busy.”

Absolute’s quality department overlooks the factory floor

One thing that seems like it will never change is Absolute’s love for a certain propulsion system, Maggi confirms. “Volvo IPS forever! When we were designing our first model, we heard that IPS was coming and we contacted Volvo right away. I think we were the first to use them.”

From a builder’s point of view, Maggi loves how IPS works with industrial production methods and can be mounted in a smaller aft space. And he also likes the client comfort that comes with reduced noise and vibration, as well as the improved fuel consumption.

FROM LAND TO SEA

While Absolute’s ultra-sophisticated build technology seems to know no limits, the dimensions of Italy’s autostrada expressways pose some strict ones for a yard located quite some distance from the sea. Yachts over 52ft are divided into hull and superstructure before being trucked down to the open water, otherwise they wouldn’t fit through tunnels or under overpasses.

“We have a lot of experience in designing for the maximum possible size for overland transportation and we’re very quick at dissembling and re-assembling our yachts,” Mastroianni says.

“I can’t reveal any secrets, but over the years we’ve perfected a kind of plug-and-play system for re-joining the electrical and hydraulic systems between hull and superstructure. We can have a yacht up to 58ft ready to go in just 36 hours, whereas larger yachts are ready with all commissioning systems tested in 10 days.”

Just as Absolute’s production system is all in-house, its sales network is entirely run by their own dealers, which in Asia include Hong Kong-based Absolute Marine, whose orders for the city include the new Navetta 64, set to arrive in late 2021.

“We invest in the yard, its technology and in new models but we also invest in our dealers, backing them up and keeping them informed,” Mastroianni says. “We began working in the Far East in 2012 in China and then in Hong Kong. Later, we began working in Japan and Taiwan and lately in Singapore. We have recently appointed a dealer in Thailand.

“Thomas Woo [of Absolute Marine] in Hong Kong is one of our top dealers, both for the volume of boats that he sells and for the fact that he sells consistently well across our entire range. It’s a niche market, but he knows his business.”

Boarding an Absolute yacht, you may find yourself curious about the unusual, volume-maximising lines, but rest assured that you’ll step back to shore impressed by the build quality and the planning and intelligence that have gone into getting the most liveability out of every millimetre.

SUNNY FUTURE

Absolute is constantly updating its range to keep on top of market trends and is still receiving acclaim for the Navetta 64 that debuted late last year, due in large to the innovative option of a convertible aft cabin beside the swim platform.

This year’s new models will be the 48’ Coupé and the 60 Fly, the former introducing a new series featuring solar power, while the latter offers the option of solar panels on the hardtop. 

Absolute 60 Fly features forward master The upcoming Absolute 60 Fly features a full-beam master cabin forward on the lower deck, following the designs on the Italian builder’s larger models.

Maggi says: “The 60 Fly will be a new reference point for flybridge yachts, a boat that will establish the parameters for this typology of yacht in the years to come.”

Not surprisingly for a shipyard that loves engineering as much as design, Absolute set up a mini solar energy plant to find the best type of solar panels to mount on its yachts, with the system to be rolled out on the 48 Coupè.

The master cabin on the 60 Fly is forward

Translucent solar panels in the roofing will produce energy for running the boat’s hotel systems while also letting light, but not heat, filter into the saloon. You can drop anchor, turn off your engine and generators, and enjoy the clean air and silence. Interestingly, Maggi says the Coupè design is more reflective of Absolute’s earliest ranges (Sport Cruiser, Sport Yacht, Sport Line) than the subsequent Fly and Navetta lines.

“The 48’ Coupè is the modern heir to our first boats, but things have changed in the meantime. Clients used to want something fast and glamorous, and didn’t really care about living on the water. Now, on top of moving fast, our clients want a comfortable boat where they can entertain and stay aboard for extended periods of time. Now, you need function and ease of use,” Maggi says.

  “The Coupé still has a sporty soul and delivers on the water, but it’s also comfortable and sustainable. We designed extra-large windows that open and close like car windows, so there’s as much fresh air moving through the boat as possible. The aft section has openings in the gunwales and glass under the aft railing so you can see the water at all times.”

Ironically, the Absolute shipyard doesn’t have such views of the sea, but it does have a management team with a crystal-clear vision of what they want for their clients and how to deliver it. www.absoluteyachts.com

Absolute Yachts’ most recent model is the 52 Fly, which rolled out at the 2023 Miami International Boat Show. From the first step aboard, it was clear the Italian builder had sweated not only the details, but also pushed the genre ahead of its competition.

The hull’s glazing, resembling a short, tanto-bladed knife and a vertical bow up front, also added to the contemporary design. Undulating LED lighting inlays in the cockpit overhang imparted a cool, sophisticated look to the space. At the same time, a starboard-side docking station spoke to this boat’s bona fides as a serious cruising machine.

The salon also had design touches that one might not expect to find on a 52-ft. semi-custom build. The aft galley had a four-burner Bosch cooktop and a six-foot-tall, stacked refrigerator and freezer that is useful for longer trips. The drawers all had chic leather tabs as handles, extending a beach-like, elegant vibe to the space.

The starboard-side helm was another place onboard that feels just a little bit different than the standard offerings in this size and class.

Twin Garmin screens were angled off in a small arc, as opposed to facing straight back, which gave them a slightly futuristic feel. Tightly stitched helix patterns in the seat-backs of the helm chairs pointed towards a high level of fit and finish.

A sturdy door next to the helm led to the side deck. Perhaps most important for the helmsperson, the Volvo Penta joystick control was maneuverable while standing on that side deck. The joystick and cockpit control station should make docking this boat easier than a conventional setup.

One of the other significant layouts was the flybridge. Absolute managed to make it look stylish and large, without appearing top heavy. The design included a large forward lounge surrounding the helm station, with back-to-front seats to port, and an L-shaped lounge extending back to the transom, with a center dining table. The side island with fridge can also double as a serving station. The overhead hardtop had an opening center window, and stereo speakers were embedded into the bridge.

Our final impression after a tour aboard: The Absolute 52 Fly was more than the sum of its parts. The boat was full-featured without looking crowded, but also highly functional. This 52-footer was clearly ready for a weekend cruise or extended voyage. The Italian builder proved that a well-conceived design makes for a well-rounded boat.

What if the allure of a new yacht made it something totally different?

Every detail of the Absolute Navetta 70 expresses the allure of a completely new model, starting from the dynamic and captivating appearance of the exteriors: the flybridge and cockpit terrace are much larger compared to those of other similar yachts. From the spacious terrace cockpit at the stern, where there is a third mooring station, a covered staircase leads up to the flybridge. Here one can enjoy moments of relaxation and socializing, taking advantage of the shade offered by the hard top, which can assume two distinct configurations depending on the customization chosen. It can, in fact, be openable if one opts for coverage through a sunshade, or fixed if one prefers the addition of solar panels, which are lightweight, efficient, flexible, and resistant to the effects of salt water. They are useful both while sailing and during port stops, improving the comfort of guests and crew on board. Absolute has always paid considerable attention to sustainability, even to the point of integrating this issue into the company ethos, which is characterized by a deep love and respect for the marine environment.

Its interiors are supremely sensual and seductive, with bleached wood, tones of white, grey and black, rounded corners on the furnishing accessories, and bronze detailing expressing a sleek and glamorous look. Freedom of movement is ensured by floor levels with a minimal use of steps, high ceilings throughout, and space-saving sliding doors. A sense of continuity is provided by the circular motif used for ceiling decor and light fittings. From all the interiors, vast windows establish a constant connection with the seascapes outside, in a perfect combination with the sophisticated design of the living spaces.

The flybridge of the new Navetta 70 offers a privileged setting, in two different versions A and B, from which to enjoy the infinite spectacle of the sea. It feels like part of a far larger yacht, with its progression of seamlessly integrated areas, from the forward helm station, to a wet bar, outdoor galley and dining table for 6-8 guests in the shade offered by a retractable canopy, to the leisure area astern with designer furniture that can be rearranged to suit the occasion, whether aperitifs in the warm light of the setting sun, or a platform for late-night dancing. The same sense of generous space can be found on the cockpit terrace and the saloon with its free-standing table and large galley, enhanced by the use of stylish colours and the exquisite crafts skill of Italy’s finest artisans.

Flybridge Series

Italian style and luxury from 42 to 72 feet, the Absolute Yachts flybridge model line offers a fresh design for the mid-range motor yacht. The Absolute shipyard is located in Northern Italy, in the Province of Piacenza, and in the city of Podenzano. The facility includes over 157,000 square feet of production space and employs over 250 people. WHAT DOES ABSOLUTE YACHTS DO DIFFERENTLY?

The hull of every Absolute Yacht features a strong, durable fiberglass structure that is reinforced with a multi-dimensional grid. All of the structural components of the yacht, from the bulkheads to the floors, are reinforced with fiberglass supports for additional strength. 

The 48 Coupe' is a wonderful example of innovative concepts put into execution. Absolute had special motors created so that the large glass windows in the salon of this model could be lowered electrically. Additionally, new furniture has been designed for Absolute that is modular and free-standing. This allows owners to be able to creatively position their seating on the flybridge or cockpit to fit the conversation of their guests on board. The modular seats can also come with storage space underneath the cushions. Transparent solar panels have also been integrated into the hardtop that can power most of the electrical equipment on board, while also allowing the natural sunlight to filter into the interior.

62 FLY - The Absolute Alchemy

The perfect fusion between comfort, functionality, and beauty shapes a model that is synonymous with pure innovation. The design is attractive and harmonic. Moreover, the external lines are outlined by uninterrupted, mirrored windows which offer an extraordinary visual effect and remarkable brightness inside the spaces.

Outdoors, the high livability ensures full relaxation in each area. On the flybridge, there is a practical sun lounger next to the well-equipped double helm station, a table with a surrounding sofa, a cabinet with a fridge, a barbeque, a sink, an ice maker, and a terrace towards the stern that can be equipped with sunbeds.

The bow deck ensures maximum quiet and is accessible in total safety through comfortable and protected walkways.

Aboard the Absolute 62 FLY, every room gives you an exclusive experience, maximizing entertainment, and functionality.

The spacious, versatile aft cockpit features a cozy sun lounger area, walkways to easily access the aft platform, the fly, the bow, and the beautiful main deck. Here, the layout and interior decor offer you and your guests an absolute level of comfort. Combinations and contrasts, in pure Italian style, enhance the elegance of the space with essence, leathers, and fabrics worthy of the best artisan tradition.

Moreover, the galley, the table, and the outdoor area can be lived as a single large space for dining, thanks to a retractable glass screen and a sliding access door.

Below deck, there is plenty of space to experience your yacht to the fullest and comfortably accommodate eight guests.

The master cabin is full-beam and takes full advantage of the hull’s beam (17 feet). It has a large double bed, spacious bedside tables, a two-seater sofa, and a roomy vanity area. The en-suite head is large and has a voluminous shower box.

The VIP cabin is positioned diagonally: an ideal solution that ensures large surfaces—furnished with elegance and equipped with high-level en-suite services.

Furthermore, the sleeping area has a twin cabin with separate berths that, through an electric control, can turn into a third double bed. The last cabin is aft and with similar living standards, perfect for an extra couple of guests or the crew.
