Dana Point Yacht Club is a private club owned by the members. It's purpose is to provide boating, social and related activities for its members and their guests. We are currently accepting new member applications. Today the club is very active in racing, hosting many regattas and races throughout the year. Special Events We are open for private events. A beautiful yacht club that seems likes it's stood the test of time. You have a great view of the ocean here and membership is required to be able to use the facilities. The club and its facilities itself is a 5 star. No question as the decor and the feeling you get inside is spectacular. Their restaurant has a great view upstairs on the second story and they are very dog friendly which is amazing. Their menu is very simple and straight forward and they mostly have a mix of Mexican, American and Italian food. I had ordered their burger with a mix of onion rings and regular fries, the hummus and their flat bread with fig and burrata. They also have a selection of drinks and a daily drink specials. As far as the taste of the food... the burger was just good, it didn't leave a good or a bad impression, but the hummus had very little flavor and tasted very bland. The fig and burrata flat bread had more of a fig drizzle instead of actual figs and the flatbread had the texture of a cardboard. Now the food from what I have tasted was 2 stars. But again the place is so beautiful you won't care what you eat. I was invited here by a member and it's a great place to hang out and enjoy the view.

My family have been members here for a couple years now and we come to dinner often. The food is always pretty good. I would recommend getting anything with fish as they always have such great fish. The view is spectacular and makes the whole experience that much better.

We were invited by some lovely friends who own a boat here at the Dana Point Harbor, to come dine and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the Dana Point yacht club.. we met some lovely people . they were so gracious to let us bring our own wine of choice. The music was playing, we were sitting outside it was a beautiful evening. We had the delicious mussels and even one of their tasty burgers with sweet potato fries, the deviled eggs were delicious... super fun early evening before a sail out to the Pacific...

We went for Summering wine tasting event... beautiful lite bites and delicious wines .. Best part of the evening was sitting with great friends on the patio and enjoying dinner from a menu that was one of the best menus I have seen in a long time . Collectively, we could not choose it was all so good... Wedge, Sand dads , lettuce wraps and curry vegetables . All so good...

I just got married at DPYC and they were so wonderful to work with and made my wedding day go perfectly. Lily was so kind and helpful, the food was delicious, and our guests absolutely loved how beautiful it was. We had both our ceremony and reception there for 135 guests. I would highly recommend DPYC for any wedding or special event!

Beautiful place we went for a wedding and it seems to go smoothly.. all the workers seemed very nice and professional. Decorations were beautiful.. refreshments were always full only downfall is the parking

We have been coming here for years and have not had a single bad experience in all of our visits. With their menu being so fairly priced and the food being absolutely amazing I would recommend anybody who is able to come here to do so

DPYC was the perfect backdrop for our wedding this last Oct, the reason for the two stars is that the day of our wedding their in house catering was completely inadequate and unlike anything we had originally ordered or tried at our tasting... They didn't serve one of the appetizers we ordered and paid for, our chicken dish was very different from what we had during our tasting (they served boneless chicken breast vs bone-in, see the photos), and the salmon dish had bacon on it instead of the honey mustard sauce we ordered and tasted. They also never brought out the bread and butter that was part of the meal. Several guests also reported that their dietary restrictions (which was sent to the venue ahead of time and noted on their name cards) were ignored. The main reason i'm writing this review is because when i tried to reach out to get an explanation of any kind, i've been ignored / ghosted. Over the past months me, my parents, and planner have all tried to reach out to Lily (the event coordinator) to no avail. After spending tens of thousands of dollars you'd expect a response back, at the least.

Had high hopes but feeling disappointed. We were looking to use the facilities for our wedding. We were offered a date and excited to book it. The lady helping us was on vacation and upon her return we were told via email the date was no longer available. She said she would call us and never did. I understand a mistake was made and would accept an apology. Things happen, I get it. Unfortunately no attempt was made to resolve our situation. No other dates offered, no phone call we were just ghosted. Demand is obviously high and business is not suffering. Still, that's no way to treat potential customers. We were left with a sour taste.

It’s All About Fun!

DWYC’s membership is strong and we consider one another family! Whether you’re a salty sailor, prize-winning angler, new to the harbor and looking to make friends that “get you,” the Club’s social atmosphere is incomparable to any other. 

Those who own a qualifying vessel are welcome to seek membership by emailing the Vice Commodore and completing an application. That is your first step to membership.

Timing for consideration is based on whether you own a boat, as there are lists for both categories at this time. Don’t worry! We’ll keep you informed and get you in as soon as possible!

We’re known up and down the coast – and beyond – for our hospitality, incredible dining experience, top-shelf bar service and hosting fun and entertaining social events. DANA WEST YACHT CLUB offers a delectable selection of menu items for lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast.  Enjoy one of our gourmet, high-top “Burgers Your Way,” one of many seasonal or classic salads or a tender Prime Filet Mignon.  

On  Sunday , come down for breakfast and a mimosa or Bloody Mary.  Better yet, let us do the cooking for dinner and order our mouth-watering Prime Rib that is especially prepared every Sunday.  Try the Captain’s Cut if you have a serious appetite!

Seasonal Daily & Weekly Specials

Executive Chef Angel Fabian and his team create a fresh variety of lunch and dinner specials each week that you can enjoy.  Not able to hang out at the club? Your meal can be packaged for dining at home, on the boat or picnicking in the harbor. The Daily & Weekly Specials are in addition to our regular menu that offers a wide selection of delicious, freshly prepared dishes for lunch and dinner.  

There are more parties and events at the clubhouse than you can imagine!  Please see the master calendar for all the details.

Popular activities are karaoke, weekly game nights, sports viewing and planned parties that often include live music, dancing, costumes and prizes. Of course there are also holiday celebrations, such Mother’s Day and Easter Brunch, and Father’s Day BBQ.

Charity Regatta

“ Sailing for Life ” ™was conceived as the theme for  Dana West Yacht Club’s 26th Annual Charity Regatta  hosted on June 2-4, 2023, in support of the  American Cancer Society .

Together, DWYC and the ACS invite other yacht clubs, sailing organizations and generous sailors to adopt “Sailing for Life” as the theme for one of their fundraising events or other boating-related charitable efforts.

Youth Sailing

DWYC has one of the most active programs in Southern California, visiting destinations up and down the coast. This includes annual cruises to Catalina Island’s Isthmus and Avalon Harbor annually, and extended cruises to Channel Islands, San Diego and beyond.

Weather seminars, cruising destination presentations and burgee exchanges with clubs members have visited are part of the program.

Dana Point offers some of the best competition in Area J with winds ranging from low to high challenging any racer on the course. We host a friendly two-man series, harvest moon series, weekly summer evenings, and a 3-day charity regatta benefitting American Cancer Society.

DWYC is also represented in regional regattas, championships and international races.

Fishing at DWYC has grown so much over the last several years with several organized tournaments throughout the long season. So fill up your cooler, grab a few reels and join in the fun!

Clubhouse & Bar

The Clubhouse & Bar are currently currently open for members and two of their personal guests for dinner. We are once again able to accommodate reciprocal guests from other yacht clubs and look forward to seeing you. Please bring your badge and check in upon entering at the front desk or with the bartender.
