Nothing is a courtesy unless it be meant us, and that friendly and lovingly. We owe no thanks to rivers that they carry our boats, or winds that they be favoring and fill our sails, or meats that they be nourishing; for these are what they are necessarily. Horses carry us, trees shade us; but they know it not. — Ben Jonson 3
Wisdom, health, life and love cannot be found in trying to control the wind, but rather in harnessing the wind in the sails of receptive engagement of the present moment. — Martin Laird 2
Three fishers went sailing away to the west, Away to the west as the sun went down; Each thought on the woman who loved him the best, And the children stood watching them out of the town. — Charles Kingsley 2

WE two boys together clinging, One the other never leaving, Up and down the roads going, North and South excursions making, Power enjoying, elbows stretching, fingers clutching, Arm'd and fearless, eating, drinking, sleeping, loving. No law less than ourselves owning, sailing, soldiering, thieving, threatening, Misers, menials, priests alarming, air breathing, water drinking, on the turf or the sea-beach dancing, Cities wrenching, ease scorning, statutes mocking, feebleness chasing, Fulfilling our foray. — Walt Whitman 1
When I was very young, one of my favourite books was Captain's Courageous and I suppose one of the reasons I loved it, it was a life I knew I should have had, learning all the different bits of the ship and learning to catch fish and rig sails and to -all the things that I never learned and I never learned the discipline, but I hungered after it. — Clive James 1
Well, well, the world must turn upon its axis, And all mankind turn with it, heads or tails, And live and die, make love and pay our taxes, And as the veering winds shift, shift our sails. — Lord Byron 1
I played in rock bands in college and then right out of college I moved over to Europe and lived in Ireland for about four years playing in indie rock bands. I love and miss being in a band, I still am in a band but pursuing that as a career I definitely missed it but I felt like that ship had sailed. — Bill Watterson 1
Let the business of the world take care of itself... My business is to get the world saved; if this involves the standing still of the looms and the shutting up of the factories, and the staying of the sailing of the ships, let them all stand still. When we have got everybody converted they can go on again, and we shall be able to keep things going then by working half time and have the rest to spend in loving one another and worshipping God. — William Booth 1
I enjoy the competition and the process of learning as we compete. The whole thing is just fascinating. I don't know what I'll do when I retire. When I go sailing, I look around ... anyone want to race? I just love competing as opposed to just going out and watching the sunset. — Larry Ellison 1
At least that's what his note said, along with a scathing reminder that dishes didn't wash themselves and the fungus in the bathroom was one day away from evolving into sentient life. I folded the note into an airplane and sailed it across the room. It ended up perched jauntily on top of the ancient television. It looked good there and I left it as a tribute to freedom-loving fungi everywhere. — Rob Thurman 1
Patience, though I have not The thing that I require,I must of force, God wot,Forbear my most desire; For no ways can I findTo sail against the wind.Patience, do what they willTo work me woe or spite,I shall content me stillTo think both day and night; To think and hold my peace,Since there is no redress.Patience, withouten blame,For I offended nought,I know they know the same,Though they have changed their thought. Was ever thought so movedTo hate that it hath loved?Patience of all my harm,For fortune is my foe;Patience must be the charmTo heal me of my woe.Patience without offenceIs a painful patience. — Sir Thomas Wyatt 0
I love cities that are on the water. I love the water element, specifically the sea. I grew up on the sea and I grew up sailing - I love sailing - and the presence of the sea gives the air and the light a very special quality that I absolutely adore. — Connie Nielsen 0
I'd lay down my life for her - Mas'r Davy - Oh! most content and cheerful! She's more to me - gent'lmen - than - she's all to me that ever I can want, and more than ever I - than ever I could say. I - I love her true. There ain't a gent'lman in all the land - nor yet sailing upon all the sea - that can love his lady more than I love her. — Charles Dickens 0
I think at the beginning of a project, you decide if you're in love with the idea and what it's about, or what you think it's about at that time at least. Then you commit to it, and once you've commit to it no matter what, no matter how many self doubts you have, you're in it. The ship's sailed, you can't turn around. — Spike Jonze 0
Love is going to replace life and from then on it's all smooth sailing. Love will replace life. — Marita Golden 0
There was this book I read and loved, The story of a ship Who sailed around the world and found That nothing else exists Beyond its own two sails And wooden shell And what is held within. All else is sure to pass. We clutch and grasp And debate what's truly permanent. — Conor Oberst 0
In the love of narrow souls I make many short voyages but in vain-I find no sea room-but in great souls I sail before the wind without a watch, and never reach the shore. — Henry David Thoreau 0
When I had youth I had no money; now I have the money I have no time; and when I get the time, if I ever do, I shall have no health to enjoy life. I suppose it's the discipline I need; but it's rather hard to love the things I do, and see them go by because duty chains me to my galley. If I ever come into port with all sails set, that will be my reward perhaps. — Louisa May Alcott 0
You think I love flattery (says Dr. Johnson), and so I do; but a little too much always disgusts me: that fellow Richardson, on the contrary, could not be contented to sail quietly down the stream of reputation, without longing to taste the froth from every stroke of the oar. — Samuel Johnson 0
Unless you really understand the water, and understand the reason for being on it, and understand the love of sailing and the feeling of quietness and solitude, you don't really belong on a boat anyway. I am for marriage. I am for fidelity. I am for love, whether it's a man and woman, a woman and a woman, a man and a man. I think the ship has sailed and I think the church needs -- I think this is the world we are living in and we need to affirm people wherever they are. — Rob Bell 0
It's fear of the unknown. The unknown is what it is. And to be frightened of it is what sends everybody scurrying around chasing dreams, illusions, wars, peace, love, hate, all that-it's all illusion. Unknown is what it is. Accept that it's unknown and it's plain sailing. Everything is unknown-then you're ahead of the game. That's what it is. Right? — John Lennon 0
I love to sail forbidden seas, and land on barbarous coasts. — Herman Melville 0
who knows if the moon's a balloon, coming out of a keen city in the sky--filled with pretty people? E. cummings 0
Human love, human trust, are always perilous, because they break down. The greater the love, the greater the trust, and the greater the peril, the greater the disaster. Because to place absolute trust on another human being is in itself a disaster, both ways, since each human being is a ship that must sail its own course, even if it go in company with another ship.... And yet, love is the greatest thing between human beings. — D. H. Lawrence 0
Have I mentioned that I expect death around every turn, that every blue sky has a safe sailing out of it, that every bus runs me over, that every low, mean syllable uttered in my direction seems to intimate the violence of murder, that every family seems like an opportunity for ruin and every marriage a ceremony into which calamity will fall and hearts will be broken and lives destroyed and people branded by the mortifications of love? — Rick Moody 0
A strong woman is a woman who craves love like oxygen or she turns blue choking. A strong woman is a woman who loves strongly and weeps strongly and is strongly terrified and has strong needs. A strong woman is strong in words, in action, in connection, in feeling; she is not strong as a stone but as a wolf suckling her young. Strength is not in her, but she enacts it as the wind fills a sail. — Marge Piercy 0
You know, when one's in love,' I said, 'and things go all wrong, one's terribly unhappy and one thinks one won't ever get over it. But you'll be astounded to learn what the sea will do.' What do you mean?' she smiled. Well, love isn't a good sailor and it languishes on a sea voyage. You'll be surprised when you have the Atlantic between you and Larry to find how slight the pang is that before you sailed seemed intolerable. — W. Somerset Maugham 0

Dark Subjects

“Sometimes I pretend I’m an anchor because there’s a difference between sinking and drowning.” ―  R.I.D. Inkskinned

“When  Predator  sailed into war, she  sang . The rapid winds and rising shrieks suddenly blended into a single harmonious tone. Lines in the rigging and the yards and the masts themselves quivered in time, and began giving off their own notes of music, in harmony with one another. As the speed increased, the chord rose and rose, and built and  built , until it reached a crescendo of pure, eerie, inhuman fury. Grimm  felt  the music rise around him, felt the ship straining eagerly to her task, and his own heart raced in fierce exultation in time with her. Every line of the ship, every smudge upon her decks, every stain upon the leathers of his aeronauts leapt into his mind in vibrant detail. He could feel the ship’s motion, forward and down, could feel the wind of her passage, could feel the rising terror of his crew. One of the men screamed–one of them always did–and then the entire crew joined in with  Predator , shrieking their battle cries together with their ship’s. The ship would not fail them–Grimm knew it; he felt it, the way he could feel sunlight on his face or the rake of wind in his hair.” ―  Jim Butcher,  The Aeronaut’s Windlass

“So there you have it: hearing voices at sea is not a pathological condition. It’s quite normal. Welcome to the world of illusions at sea. Of mirages, looming, towering, stooping and sinking. Of moons that change size, suns that change shape, horizons that bend, lights that change colour, and sounds that play hide and seek. Of waves that speak, ships that effervesce and whales that turn into baby elephants. For the sea has a lobsterpot full of tricks and illusions to confuse and beguile even the most rational 21st century sailor.” ―  Nic Compton,  Off the Deep End: A History of Madness at Sea

“For I say there is no other thing that is worse than the sea is for breaking a man, even though he may be a very strong one.” ―  Homer

“She found out that having something to do prevented you from feeling seasick, and that even a job like scrubbing a deck could be satisfying, if it was done in a seamanlike way. She was very taken with this notion, and later on she folded the blankets on her bunk in a seamanlike way, and put her possessions in the closet in a seamanlike way, and used ‘stow’ instead of ‘tidy’ for the process of doing so. After two days at sea, Lyra decided that this was the life for her.” ―  Philip Pullman,  The Golden Compass

Walker,  Unbreak My Heart

You have a way with words!

Amy, devem existir incontáveis citações célebres envolvendo o mar e o nosso eterno caso de amor, que é velejar. Parabéns pelo seu bom gosto. Surpreendente. Já li algumas mas sua seleção é melhor de todas. Sinceros agradecimentos.

The sea is a good muse! 🙂

I collect sailing/travel quotes and many of these were new to me. What a great list.

And…you corrected my erroneously attributing a certain quote to Mark Twain 😉

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society where none intrudes, By the deep Sea, and music in its roar: I love not Man the less, but Nature more, Lord Byron

Thank you, Amy!

I looked up the Mark Twain thing before I posted, because I saw it attributed to both. Geat Bryon quote.

The quote: ‘Quit trying to alter the winds; harness them.’ really resonated with me today 🙂

Thanks for all the work putting this lovely collection together.

Aw great to hear from you! 🙂

“Every single day since I heard that tap-tapping and knew I had survived, I have told myself I am lucky to be alive. Why go back? Because I’m a racing sailor; that’s what I do. I love the sea, and I love competition. You don’t give up on life just because you once had a narrow shave from death.”  Tony Bullimore

“My mother, when asked for her opinion of the voyage before I sailed, had replied that she considered it ‘totally irresponsible’ and on this Christmas Day I began to think she was right. “I really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it’s because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it’s because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea – whether it is to sail or to watch it – we are going back from whence we came. ”  John F. Kennedy

“There have been times on this trip I’ve been convinced that GPS was wrong.”   Chris Robb

21 Sailing Quotes to Help You Seas the Day

sailboat love quotes

It’s time to hoist the mainsail and head for the open sea (or lake)! ⛵️

As the weather gets warmer and the days start to feel like Summer, we start itching to get out on the water. We love all kinds of water activities, but feeling the wind in our hair from a sailboat has to be one of our favorites.

Fun fact: We own a 1978 Catalina 22 , aptly named “For Sail”

Even if you’re not a sailor, you probably know that sailing comes with its own terminology . You’ve likely heard some of the more common sailing phrases, but here are a few directional terms to use so that you can sound like a seasoned pro.

  • Aft or stern : the back of the sailboat
  • Bow : the front of the sailboat
  • Port : the left hand side of the sailboat when you’re facing the bow.
  • Starboard : the right hand side of the sailboat when you’re facing the bow.

When you’re sailing on open waters, using the terms “left” and “right” can become confusing, so port and starboard are always defined in relation to the bow. Makes sense, right?

We love that sailing always feels like a new adventure. Every time we’re in a boat, the water is different, there is somewhere new to explore, and there is always more to learn . As we sail out onto the open water, we feel like we’re headed into the unknown.

If you also love adventure, exploration, and being on the open water as much as we do, here are some sailing quotes that are perfect for your letter board!

  • Seas the day!
  • “I cannot not sail.” - E.B. White
  • Land was created so boats would have a place to visit.
  • Sailboat: a whole in the surface of the water into which money is thrown.
  • No landlubbers allowed.
  • A sailor is an artist whose medium is the wind.
  • Home is where the anchor drops.
  • Sorry for what I said when I was docking the boat.
  • Sometimes I wonder if my sailboat is thinking about me too.
  • Things I do in my spare time: go sailing, look at sailboats, think about sailboats, talk about sailboats, dream about sailboats.
  • Wild and free just like the sea
  • “We can’t direct the wind but we can adjust the sails” - Thomas S. Monson

Since we love to dream about sailing even when we’re not out on the water, we love the idea of decorating with these sailboat prints ! We also think these sailboat blueprints are perfect for someone who loves the technical ins and outs of sailing.

Paul is a little partial to our Orange Cream Letters, but we think Soft Magnetic Letters in blue tones would be perfect for displaying your favorite sailing quotes and thinking about the water! Try Dark Night , Blue Yonder , or Faded Denim !

52 Best Boat Quotes And Sayings About Life On The Ocean

Luxurious wooden boat fast movement on dark water.

A boat is a watercraft of varying dimensions used to navigate the seas and oceans.

Boats can be divided into three main categories; an unpowered or human-powered boat, such as a scull, which is made for a single person, a sailboat, or a motorboat. If you or your friends owns a boat, here are some great boat words to name your boat- Carpe Diem, Serendipity, Relentless, Aquaholic, and Liberty.

Boats have been used as a method of transport dating back to prehistoric times as proved by findings in Flores, which are dated to 900,000 years ago! Until the mid-19th-century, boats were made of natural materials, primarily wood.

By the 1930s, wooden boats were being used for industrial needs. And around the mid-1960s, fiberglass became the popular choice for recreational boats and cruise ships, as they don't rust or corrode easily.

The oceans and boats were meant for each other as time keeps proving again and again! "A boat is a hole in the water you throw money into" is a famous saying about people who own boats.

Sailing ever since its inception has been linked to things like the drive for adventures. For many centuries, sailors were considered bold and courageous men who were willing to risk their lives for their honor. As years passed, great men and women who fell in love with sailing gave us an endless series of adventurous and inspirational quotes.

Spy X Family Is Not a Comedy (According to the Author), and That's Why I Love It

Spy x family season 3 story, latest news, & everything we know so far, one spy x family character could rival yor's strength with proper training.

  • Loid is a wise, nuanced character, excelling not only as a spy but also as a caring father and husband.
  • Loid values self-awareness and thoughtful decision-making, never wanting to be ignorant.
  • Loid's dedication to his role as a father and protector stems from a desire to create a safe world for children, making him a respectable hero.

Loid Forger is not just Spy x Family 's main hero, he is one of the wisest and most nuanced characters in the show. Living under the nickname, Loid Forger, his true identity is Twilight, a world-renowned spy. His current mission, Operation Strix, is his most difficult yet, requiring him to form a fake family in order to fly under the radar as an average dad.

Loid is not just a strong fighter and clever spy, he is also a caring husband , and great at dealing with children, which he discovered when he adopted Anya for his mission. Although his father and husband roles are fake, he plays them well and with sincerity.

Loid is wise, disciplined, and guided by strong morals that aid him in always doing the right thing.

10 "Friends Are Important. Cherish Them."

Loid urges anya to remember the importance of strong friendships.

When Anya got into a fight with Damian at school, Loid was careful to remind her to consider her priorities. Although he does not want his daughter to be mistreated, it is crucial that she gets along with Damian. Gaining access to Damian's father is an integral goal of Operation Strix.

Loid urged Anya to remember the value of friendship and how important these bonds are. The opportunity to make friends is one of the best parts of the school experience. Loid's advice was helpful to Anya because she became friends with her classmates like Becky and even patched things up with Damian .

9 "The Mistake Was Endangering That Child in the First Place. How Did I Not See That? Making a World Where Kids Don’t Need To Cry... That Was the Whole Reason... I Became a Spy in the First Place."

Loid reveals the unshakable personal value that led him to choose his spy profession.

In this telling quote, Loid reminds viewers why he chose his spy profession . His desire to protect children from harm is admirable, and it is this value that led him to his chosen career. Loid hopes that one day the world will be a loving place for children to feel secure.

This is also why Loid is developing such an attachment to Anya, even though he insists she is just a pawn in his mission. Despite his protests, he appears to genuinely care for her as his own daughter and will stop at nothing to protect her from being hurt. His passion for keeping children safe is yet another reason he is anime's best father.

8 "You Gotta Be Careful. Because There’s Someone Else Back Home Who’d Be Heartbroken if Anything Happened to You."

Loid warns bond, the family pet, to take care of himself, lest he risk disappointing anya.

These touching and insightful words are spoken to Bond Forger, the family pet. Loid warns Bond that he needs to exercise caution because Anya would be devastated if any harm ever came to him. Although this message was spoken specifically to Bond, it could apply to any member of the Forger family.

Although the family was created intentionally for the purposes of a spy mission, it has grown into something greater. Whether they admit it or not, they all care for one another. If any one of the Forgers left the family or was harmed, it would negatively impact the other family members, proving that Loid's words to Bond ring true on a larger scale .

7 "Ignorance Isn’t Bliss. Ignorance Is Weakness. Ignorance Is a Sin."

Loid values self-awareness and careful consideration of decisions before making any choice.

Spy x Family is often considered to be a lighthearted slice-of-life series. It does have those elements indeed, but there is a more serious story at its core. The overarching plot follows a war between two nations and Loid's efforts to protect world peace.

This quote stems from Loid's experiences dealing with war. He explains how crucial it is to know what you are fighting for and not blindly follow a cause without understanding every detail. Loid is an intentional person who thinks through his decisions methodically, so it makes sense that he would never want to be ignorant in any aspect of his life.

In an interview, Tatsuya Endo, creator of Spy X Family, explained that his action shonen series, although hilarious, is not actually a comedy.

6 "Hopes of Marriage? The Joys of an Ordinary Life? Those Joined My I.D. Papers in the Rubbish Bin on the Day I Became a Spy."

Loid gave up dreams of family, but found himself leading the life he never thought he’d have.

The life of a spy is not an easy one and no one understands that more than Loid Forger. Loid has spent years without a family, a partner, or a steady and predictable job. He made all of these monumental sacrifices because living a normal life is impossible for those with careers like his.

Ironically, although Loid claims to have made his peace with never having "an ordinary life," he seems to deeply enjoy his time as a father and husband in the Forger family. From helping Anya study to going on dates with Yor, Loid stumbled into an average and delightful life. He is living in a way he never dreamed he would be able to when he entered his job.

5 "If Belittling the Feelings of Children Is a Part of Eden Academy’s Educational Philosophy... Then I Have Chosen the Wrong School."

Loid stands up to professor swan’s cruelty and boldly protects anya’s feelings.

In one of Loid's most noble moments yet, he stood up to Professor Swan during Anya's Eden Academy entrance exam. Professor Swan began grilling Anya with uncomfortable questions about her childhood and birth parents, causing her to burst into tears. Upon seeing Swan's provocation of Anya, Loid became enraged and punched the man.

Even though it could have completely jeopardized Operation Strix, Loid was unwilling to let a child suffer for the sake of his mission. The fact that he was willing to fail at his mission to keep Anya happy proves that he cares for her. Loid is not willing to sacrifice his morals for any reason, and that makes him a respectable hero .

4 "Of Course, I Believe That Working Hard To Be Your Best Self Is Admirable."

Loid’s focus on personal growth is admirable, giving him a satisfying character arc.

Self-improvement is always at the forefront of Loid's mind. He is the most hardworking character in Spy x Family . Loid is willing to sacrifice anything in order to contribute to the success of his missions .

This quote is one of Loid's wisest remarks, expressing the importance of always working diligently to be a better version of oneself. He is dedicated to improving, not just as a spy, but as a human being. This makes his character arc satisfying to watch because he is always growing and changing positively.

3 "Very Little of What My Daughter Says and Does Makes Any Sense to Me. But by Acknowledging Her, Even When I Don’t Understand, I Can at Least Create an Opportunity for Dialogue."

Loid is a careful listener to anya, even when her behavior or remarks confuse him.

Loid and Anya sometimes butt heads. Whether it's over Anya refusing to do homework or Loid misunderstanding a comment she makes, they do not always see eye to eye. In this line, Loid explains that he tries his best to relate to Anya even if he does not fully understand her.

By meeting Anya on her level, Loid has built trust and established himself as a father figure she can depend on. Although they do have their disagreements, as most parents and children do, they try their best to find common ground, even when it's difficult. Loid's dedication to getting to know Anya deeply only helps their bond grow.

2 "Completing Such Mundane Missions That Require Patience Makes a True Spy."

Loid acknowledges the importance of composure when completing spy missions.

The saying "patience is a virtue" rings true for Loid Forger. His spy profession requires patience and careful behavior. One small mistake could ruin a mission, so he is constantly walking on eggshells.

Being a spy may seem to be an action-packed career, and oftentimes it is. However, Loid acknowledges the fact that not every mission is larger-than-life, some of them are boring. It is his willingness to work just as hard at the lackluster missions as he does at the exciting ones that makes him a great spy.

Spy x Family returns with thrilling new episodes, blending espionage and family drama, promising fans even more action and heartfelt moments.

1 "Striving To Live Up to One’s Ideals Is an Admirable Thing, of Course, but When Those Ideals Start to Constrict You, It’s Easy To Lose Sight of Who You Are and Where Your True Strengths Lie."

Loid always works to live up to his true potential.

Loid often finds himself at a crossroads. He wants to be the best spy he can be, but still make honorable decisions. He explains that he never wants to become so dedicated to an ideal version of himself that it keeps him from living up to his potential.

Loid often finds himself pulled in different directions. It is crucial for him to have a clear understanding of who he is and what he values, and he seems to. In this quote, he elaborates on this point, hammering home how important it is to him to reevaluate the path he is on and make sure it aligns with his values and virtues.

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough Spend Time Together Out on Boat in New Photos: ‘Cruising’

Mariska Hargitay Refuses to Retire From Law & Order SVU

Morning Joe ’s Mika Brzezinski and her husband, Joe Scarborough , spent some time together on the water ahead of the weekend.

“Cruising thru the week #usa #freedom #we❤️america,” Mika, 57, captioned a post on her Instagram page on Thursday, August 22.

In the first photo, she and Joe, 61, posed for a selfie. The talk show cohosts wore hooded sweatshirts for the outing on the water. Mika had a pair of sunglasses perched on top of her head for the boat day, while Joe wore a baseball cap.

Facts About Mika Brzezinski You Might Not Know: Inside Private Life

In a second picture shared in the post, Mika and Joe sailed together on a boat. He took the reigns navigating while she stood alongside him in a yellow raincoat and blue rain boots.

“I don’t like when you go on vaca! Selfish me. I enjoy your perspectives every morning!” one person playfully commented, while another wrote, “Love the pics!! Looks like you are having a great time!!!!”

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough Spend Time Together on Boat

Mika and Joe love spending time by the water, as she inherited her Maine vacation home in Northeast Harbor from her parents.

“We started coming up when we [children] were very young, and the house became a North Star for my entire family,” her brother Mark Brzezinski told the Mount Desert Islander during an interview in December 2020. “When summer would roll around, we would think of Northeast Harbor and getting out to the islands and doing all the hikes and going on the carriage paths.”

And while the pair appeared to be united in their recent photos, sources told Closer that tensions are running high on Morning Joe between Joe and Mika.

“Spending every waking moment together is just too much,” the insider said on August 9. “Their on-air bickering has escalated into full-blown fighting , and the cracks in their relationship are becoming more apparent.”

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski's Love Story: Quotes About Each Other

In the past, Joe admitted that the pair had their fair share of disagreements but always were able to move on from them.

“For me, the mistake always was I’m very driven at work, but I go home and I don’t want to fight. I’m passive aggressive. I’m sort of like, ‘Whatever you want to do,’” the former politician said during a SiriusXM appearance in August 2017. “That’s really what I think hurt me in one relationship after another. And differences grow over a decade and things ultimately blow up. With Mika and me, we both learn you have to. If there’s a problem, put it on the table immediately. If it gets ugly, it gets ugly. You go there and you fight through it.”

He went on to explain that their duties as cohost of Morning Joe have pushed them to settle disagreements before they go on air each morning. The two wed in a private ceremony at the National Archives in Washington, D.C., in November 2018.

“I’ll tell you, the blessing for us is, we always knew we had to take care of things by 6 a.m. the next morning,” he shared. “So we couldn’t go to sleep mad at each other, because Mika has the worst poker face in the history of television. She wears everything on her sleeve. I know if she goes on the air angry with me that everybody’s going to know.”
