About davey & co.

Davey & Co are UK manufacturers of traditional marine fittings, made from brass, gunmetal and other traditional materials. We stock traditional boat building tools, and fastenings.

The Davey Team are passionate about British manufacturing, encompassing traditional skills and values.  Wherever possible, our products are produced in the UK often using very old patterns and processes.  We have a wide range of products, that have been tried and tested over the years.

We supply customers in the UK and Worldwide. We have provided parts and technical expertise to a wide range of incredible projects; many of the Dunkirk Little Ships, to all the cleats on the Queens Jubilee Barge, the Gloriana. As well as fittings to many award-winning boat builders throughout the world.

We continue to thrive in these challenging times, and we thank our customers and suppliers alike for helping us to keep this historic company alive.

I applied it to new teak benches as it was recommwnded for this by a "high end " vendor of teak furniture. I used a combination of a cloth and a brush to apply it.This was very quick and easy to do. It dried quickly to leave a smooth, subtle sheen. I believe it will protect it from natural weathering of the wood and prolong the natural colour.

Nice piece of kit, but the groove for a securing line seemed unlikely to do its job. Better would be a hole that the line could be threaded through, and this is what I intend to do myself. David

Many thanks for taking the time to leave this review for our stainless steel drop nose pins. I take on board your comment about the groove, but I can assure you we have found that our 2.5mm stainless wire rope and stainless ferrules work very well to attach a tether to these pins.

Good solid fittings. With enough depth of steel to hold the grub screws, but unsure of grub screw size did not fit my metric Alan keys. So could not fully Titan, Got replace m6 with dome head set screws that fit thread.

Sorry to hear thought that you had trouble with the grub-screw. These are metric (I always use my metric allen key set when I am using them for various bespoke jobs) so I am a little puzzled as to why you had a problem. I will check our latest stock.

Always like to buy from Boat Fittings UK, just seems good quality stuff. If I was to have a moan, it's that they seem to have limited their range of screws, especially the smaller sizes which I always find really useful.

This is the perfect tool to assist in tightening my Dart Trampoline. It grips the rope far better than you can with your hands.

After having my Previous Superwarm X Suit for over 5 years whilst working as a watersports instructor this is a great improvement over the previous suit. Warmer and softer linning throughout the inside of the suit and I will continue to use the suit all year round like my old suit.

A simple moulded part of good quality, supplied quickly and well packed.

Turned out that I had ordered the wrong make, my camcleats being Allen not Harken, however by drilling the two fixings holes out by 1mm and filing two small notches they fitted perfectly.

Super helpful company. Attentive, and quick to deliver.

Second time I have use for this purpose. Really easy to attach to alloy mast and so easy and positive to operate.

Nylet fittings are on my Squiggle (sail number 90) built by Bill Curtis in Falmouth, on the green Chinese E Class boat and on the red & blue Chinese IOMs which until recently I owned. I have sold both these boats to Chinese guys in Shanghai so your fittings are now being used by 3 Chinese boats, plus me!
