Great little bar with amazing views! Friendly people and the bartender mando is amazing. Can also talk to them about renting the venue.

Wonderful friendly affordable yacht club. Great for parties, we have had birthday parties, and a celebration of life. Wonderful venue, helpful staff. Jc
Great place to hang out, still coming back after pandemic and a great group of friends and activities. Affordable membership pays for itself every month in food and entertainment and friendships are the cherry on top. View of the marina on one side and San Francisco skyline on the other. Breathtaking sunset. Best birthday ever. Strongly recommend membership or rental. Had my birthday party there, made everything simple and a big success! Thanks
Great location and setting for your event. Visit us at www.BBYC.org I have been a member since 2017 and have seen the club make improvements in our space that are attractive to special occasions. The members are friendly and welcoming. Give us a call and come by.
Ballena Bay Yacht Club has been a very welcoming place on the west end of Alameda. They have a great bar with a great room for events and will rent their club for social occasions. This is a small yacht club that has been a part of the Ballena Isle Marina for many years. Other yacht clubs come over by boat or car to visit or do a cruise-in since the location is not hard to find. Hope you can come visit this year. MikeM
Ballena Bay Yacht Club has an event space that you can rent out for company team events, and personal celebrations like birthdays, wedding receptions and baby showers. It's located right in Ballena Bay marina right next to the water, with great views outside of the Bay, Bay Bridge, and San Francisco. The sunsets are stunning. The club itself can accommodate up to a couple hundred over two rooms, outside spaces, and a full bar with bartenders is provided. The audio system is superb. I've seen great dj sets here. The club provides easy and friendly logistics, and this might be the most affordable event space in the Bay Area.
Great social club for boaters and land lovers alike. Beautiful views of San Francisco Bay Bridge, Oracle park, Chase Center area and the USS Hornet aircraft carrier on the west side of club. Views of Alameda beach, Ballena Bay Marina and Safe Harbor to the east. The Restaurants and cafe's include Pier 29 Waterfront restaurant, Abigail's Moroccan Cuisine and Harbor Mart Market to serve the boating community. Club Nautique Sailing School next door provides our thirsty new and experienced mariners to enjoy a nice cocktail while telling sea faring stories and tales. Such a great coastal community hidden away from all the city life.

I want to give a loud shout out to the crew at the Ballena Bay Yacht Club for allowing us to have our Encinal 50th High School reunion at their club. It is located in one of Alameda's many picturesque marinas that overlooks the great San Francisco Bay. Not only are they a yacht club that provides cruise-outs, racing, fishing and boating education they offer the use of their club for parties and any kind of social or private event. You do not have to own a boat to become a member. For more information see: https://ballendabayyc.com The club features a large room (Sunset Room) that overlooks the San Francisco Bay, bar area (large enough for dancing & a band), plus an open outside patio/courtyard that overlooks the marina. Ample and free parking. I cannot rave enough! This was a memorable lifetime event for us, thanks again. If you want a great and memorable place to have your event - this is it!
We had our 48th Encinal HS Reunion last night here and can't say enough about this event space. The all volunteer staff was fabulous to work with and accommodated our every need. Thanks to them our reunion was a success!
We have cruised her in the past and had great time on the guest dock. However, this trip our club was dispersed among two docks, in slips that were between mostly live-Aboards. A couple of those boats were extremely rude and unpleasant. When greeted with a friendly hello, we would get NO response in return. We also were yelled at, yes literally yelled at by one owner who claimed that if we set foot in the dock, we have to wear a mask. We all had our masks and were very careful when around people walking on the docks (and in town). But we did not wear them OUTSIDE when no one was around. We were sitting in the dock in our chairs in a large, spread our circle just talking with each other. We weren't playing music or being loud. Same people complained and then the office asked us to move to the garden area. We had complaints almost every day there and we were not loud or partying or anything. Just put a real damper on our vacation. We blame the yacht club as they should not put cruise in clubs near their live aboard boats, especially with folks as unfriendly and rude as these were. The people we met on G dock were nice. But F dock was a nightmare. Positive notes are that the staff in the office was friendly and I'm sure they were trying to handle as best they could. Several of our members went to the restaurant, Pier 29, and said everything they ordered was very good. I doubt we will be back unless able to be on the guest dock which is away from the curmudgeons!
This is a really special place. Tucked away and a bit hard to find, but worth the search. Great people, fun dinners, beautiful marina surroundings right on the Bay. Very down to Earth too. Club membership is affordable and a great value compared with other clubs. Highly recommended for private events too!
Ballena Bay Yacht Harbor is a very pretty harbor area in Alameda. There is a restaurant (Pier 29) where you can have dinner and drinks (full bar). They have early bird dinner specials. Club Nautique is also at this harbor, Club Nautique specializes in sailing and power boat lessons as well as once you are trained, chartering boats for day use or overnight or extended use. There are many private boats here as well. Its also a nice area to go for a walk....dogs are ok. On the opposite side of the harbor is a good view of the San Francisco Skyline.
