‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 Will Premiere in October With an Action-Packed 2 Parts | First Look

The next chapter about Blackbeard’s treasure will air in November

“Outer Banks” is about to embark on its biggest adventure to date: finding Blackbeard’s treasure. And Netflix has shared a first teaser and several first look images to celebrate the occasion.

The fourth season of the Netflix original will premiere its first five episodes on Oct. 10 followed by five more episodes on Nov. 7.

Season 3 ended with a flash-forward 18 months into the future that showed the Pogues being commended for finding El Dorado, the lost city of gold. In that season’s final moments, a man approached the friends and asked them if they would be interested in finding the lost treasure of Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard. But Season 4 will start before the tempting offer. Watch the first teaser below.

After El Dorado, John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), JJ (Rudy Pankow) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) return to North Carolina and try to settle into a “normal” life. They even build themselves a new safe haven, dubbed “Poguelandia 2.0.”

“We finally did it. We finally found the gold,” John B cheerily says in this first teaser as the camera shows the Pogues fishing and soaking up some sun. “That’s where the story should have ended. But really, it was just the beginning.”

The teaser then shows a series of objectively awesome things: scuba diving, surfing, motorcross racing and — of course — more boats. Buried among all of this high adrenaline action, JJ punches someone in the face.

“Nothing to lose,” JJ says.

“No, we have everything to lose this time,” John B counters. In addition to this first teaser, Netflix also dropped a series of first look images from this new season.

Following some financial setbacks, Season 4 will follow the Pogues as they attempt to unearth Blackbeard’s treasure. But with this new prize comes new enemies and dangerous obstacles. “They’re forced to question their past, present and future — who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?” a press release for the series reads.

Created by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, “Outer Banks” started in 2020 as a story about a young man who enlisted the help of his three best friends to search for a lost treasure connected to his father’s disappearance. That was a long time ago. Since then, “Outer Banks” has chronicled a whirlwind romance between John B and Sarah Cameron, established a regional class war between the working class Pogues and the rich Kooks, laid out too many love triangles to count, revealed that John B’s dad was alive all along, let teenagers discover both the Cross of Santo Domingo and El Dorado and has perfected the art of elaborate on-screen boat stunts. All of this, and yet “Outer Banks” has never once been nominated for an Emmy.

In addition to the aforementioned actors, Season 4 will star Drew Starkey (Rafe), Austin North (Topper), Fiona Palomo (Sofia), J. Anthony Crane (Chandler Groff), Pollyanna McIntosh (Dalia), Brianna Brown (Hollis Robinson), Rigo Sanchez (Lightner), Mia Challis (Ruthie) and Cullen Moss (Shoupe).

The results are both compelling and revealing, showcasing the resilience and raw instincts of those brave enough to take on the challenge.”

“Outlast” comes from EPs Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and Emma Ho for Aggregate Films, Ryan O’Dowd and Krystal Whitney for BBC Studios, Dan Bree and showrunner Mike Odair. Here’s a first look at Season 2:

Outer Banks Season 4 Teaser Trailer Previews Return of Netflix Teen Drama

Outer Banks Season 4 Teaser Trailer Previews Return of Netflix Teen Drama

By Ryan Louis Mantilla

Netflix has released the teaser trailer for Outer Banks Season 4, highlighting the return of the Pogues as they navigate new adventures.

Season 4 of the hit Netflix teen drama had begun production earlier in 2023, though it was delayed due to the now-resolved Hollywood strikes at the time. Outer Banks Season 4 will be released in two parts, with the first five episodes arriving on October 10. The remaining episodes will arrive the following month on November 7.

What happens in Outer Banks Season 4 teaser trailer?

The teaser trailer opens with Chase Stokes ’ John B. Routledge uttering, “We finally did it. We finally found the gold.” A discovery where the story should have ended, the character teased that it’s only the “beginning” of more adventures, though — contrary to the past seasons — they’ve got “everything to lose this time.”

“A tight-knit group of teens unearths a long-buried secret, setting off a chain of illicit events that takes them on an adventure they’ll never forget,” the logline for Outer Banks reads.

You can watch the teaser trailer for OBX4 down below ( watch more trailers ):

Fans can expect an intense new season considering everything that transpired during the Season 3 finale. Per the official synopsis, the upcoming season will take viewers back in time “following last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure.”

All of the Pogues will return for Season 4 to reprise their roles, including Stokes as John, Madelyn Cline as Sarah, Rudy Pankow as JJ, Madison Bailey as Kie, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, and Carlacia Grant as Cleo. The new season will also see the return of Drew Starkey as Rafe, Austin North as Topper, and Cullen Moss as Deputy Shoupe, with Fiona Palomo’s Sofia returning as a series regular.

Outer Banks will be returning on October 10 and November 7, almost two years after the Season 3 premiere. The past seasons are available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

Outer Banks season 4 first look reveals romance and happiness for all 3 Pogue couples

The 10-episode season will be split into two parts debuting Oct. 10 and Nov. 7.

The romance is only just heating up on Outer Banks.

The first look at season 4 of Netflix's treasure hunt drama is here, and the photos and teaser trailer reveal that all three of the Pogue couples — John B (Chase Stokes) and  Sarah (Madelyn Cline) ,  Kiara (Madison Bailey) and  JJ (Rudy Pankow) , and Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) — are still going strong after the 18-month time jump.

Jackson Lee Davis/Netflix

John B and Sarah are shown sharing a gorgeously backlit kiss, Pope and Cleo are holding hands, and JJ and Kiara are sharing a bed (!). Getting their happy ending of finding the gold and safely returning home is really working out well for them.

But the trailer also teases that they've "got everything to lose this time," because the story's not over yet. "We finally did it — we finally found the gold," John B says in the voiceover. "That's where the story should have ended. But really, it was just the beginning."

Season 4 is going to turn back the clock to reveal what happened in those missing 18 months, leading up to the Pogues being hand-delivered a new treasure hunt to find Blackbeard’s treasure. According to the official synopsis, "after finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a 'normal' life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed 'Poguelandia 2.0,' where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the 'G' game for a whole new adventure."

Of course, the "G" game always comes with risks, and "before they know it, they're well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future — who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?"

Outer Banks season 3 - Netflix shows

As the new season begins, John B, Sarah, JJ, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo are still marooned on Poguelandia following the events of the season 2 finale which saw the Pogues wash ashore the desert island. While it’s unclear how long exactly the Pogues have been on the island, it’s hinted that they’ve been marooned for roughly a month which is shocking given how clean their clothes are after a month lost on an island, but I digress.

Though the group is enjoying their stay in Poguelandia, they’re just as eager to get off the island so when they see a plane flying above them in the sky they race to get the pilot’s attention. Fortunately for the Pogues, the group is able to flag down the plane which is when they meet its pilot, a man named Jimmy Portis, who offers to give them a ride off the island.

The action then moves to Guadeloupe, where the Camerons have been living since fleeing the Outer Banks with the gold. We discover that Ward is in a coma caused by the injury sustained in the season 2 finale showdown with the Pogues, the stolen gold is locked in a vault in their home, and Rafe is actively searching for the Cross of Santo Domingo.

As we move back to the Pogues, Sarah expresses concerns that the man might have been sent by her father but they all agree Jimmy is their best shot at getting off the island. They all quickly board his plane and JJ sparks up a conversation by asking about how he came to be in the area which was when Jimmy spewed off a story about fishing for Wahoo . The only problem is that Wahoo aren’t in season in September, meaning Jimmy isn’t a fisherman and he lied to them. This is when they discover a photo of the boat they were on in the season 2 finale in Jimmy’s bag hinting he’s not who he says he was.

A skirmish on the plane ensues and the plane crashes in the water just offshore. The Pogues quickly manage to swim away from the wreckage as they notice military-like men swarming the beach. However, when Kiara decides to save Jimmy from the crash, she’s separated from the group and eventually taken by these mysterious men.

Catching back up with Rafe, he’s found the cross and has arranged a meeting with a mysterious French man named Michel Arnaud, who tells Rafe he has a buyer interested in the cross but little is revealed about the mysterious buyer in the moment.

Back in the Caribbean, Kiara is taken to Vaux Hall and is convinced Ward and the Camerons are responsible for her kidnapping. However, she quickly discovers the Camerons were not behind her capture, rather she was taken by the mystery buyer interested in the cross — oh and Rafe is there too because he’s arrived ready to sell the cross. Carlos explains that he’s looking for the gold at El Dorado, and he wants Kiara and Rafe to help him get it. He wants Denmark Tanny’s diary, which he believes the Pogues have.

Elsewhere in the episode, we see that Big John and Limbrey are both on the island as well after they show up on the beach to inspect the plane crash. We also get our first death of the season when Carlos captures and kills Jimmy for messing up his assignment to bring him the Pogues.

Outer Banks Season 3: Release Date, Trailer, Cast, and Everything Else to Know

Father-and-son reunion incoming!

portrait-cropped.jpg

At last, it's almost time for the return of Outer Banks . After waiting for roughly a year and a half, we're finally reuniting with our favorite Pogues. What treasure hunt will John B. ( Chase Stokes ) and his group of friends be on in this upcoming chapter? And what's going to happen when John B. reunites with his father, Big John ( Charles Halford ), for the first time?

We're expecting Season 3 to be packed with more action, adventure, and, of course, romance. The last time we saw the Pogues in Outer Banks ' Season 2 finale, they were chasing after the coveted Cross of Santo Domingo. While they did not get their hands on the ultimate prize, the Pogues at least escaped mostly unscathed.

Set in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the series   follows a group of teens known as the Pogues, who are, as John B. describes, the "lowest members of the food chain." John B. and his friends embark on a journey to seek the truth behind his father's disappearance and must face off against the rival Kooks, as what begins as a curious quest transforms into a deadly treasure hunt.

Here's everything we know so far about  Outer Banks  Season 3.

Outer Banks  Season 3 review

Our review is in! Outer Banks Season 3 is another fun adventure, Maggie Fremont writes, and even if the villain is kind of a dud, it builds to a must-watch finish. Read the full review .

Outer Banks  Season 3 release date 2023

Outer Banks  Season 3 will premiere on Feb. 23. Fun fact: This is the date that  Madelyn Cline  accidentally leaked in  an interview with Young Hollywood  last year. We are thrilled that the Pogues are returning just a few short weeks away!

The official Outer Banks Twitter has also shared the list of episode titles for Season 3. BRB, Googling "gnomon" now.

Outer Banks  Season 3 trailer

Outer Banks Season 3's trailer wastes no time in sharing what the Pogues will search for next, but the hunt won't be easy. "You and your friends hold the key to the ultimate conquest: El Dorado," Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen) says in the video. "And that, my young friend, is my destiny." And if we know anything about the Kooks, it's that they'll also do anything it takes to get their hands on the treasure. "I'm going to take what's mine. Rightfully mine," Rafe (Drew Starkey) says. Plus, the trailer teases a long-awaited moment: John B. seeing Big John.

Previously, in September 2022,  Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event  granted us a first-look teaser for Season 3. Everything starts off looking rosy for the Pogues, despite being stranded on an island. It's all coconuts and puka shells until we see the car chases, hand-to-hand combat, and imminent danger in store for the OBX friends in Season 3.

Outer Banks  Season 3 first look

Netflix dropped first look images of Outer Banks Season 3 when it announced the premiere date. There's a photo of John B., Sarah, and Cleo ( Carlacia Grant ) staring at something with different levels of excitement on what appears to be Poguelandia.

We also must talk about this first look image featuring an intimate moment between Kie ( Madison Bailey ) and JJ ( Rudy Pankow ). Can we finally expect romance from these two besties in Outer Banks Season 3? Jiara stans rise up.

Netflix also dropped this teaser of  Jonathan Daviss ' Pope and Grant's Cleo. We're pumped about Grant being upped to series regular in Season 3 and are eager to find out how Cleo's friendships with the Pogues unfold.

Outer Banks  Season 3 cast

In June 2022, Netflix announced new cast members joining the next season.  Andy McQueen  plays Carlos Singh, described as "a ruthless Caribbean Don on a treasure hunt of his own." McQueen will be joined by  Lou Ferrigno Jr. , who plays Singh's top security officer. Season 3 will also star  Fiona Palomo  as Sofia, who Netflix says is "a self-identified Pogue who forms a close connection to Rafe."

In addition to Chase Stokes, all the series regulars are returning for  Outer Banks  Season 3.  According to Deadline ,  Carlacia Grant, who plays Cleo, the newest addition to the central Pogues friend group, has been upped to series regular.

  • Chase Stokes as John B.
  • Madelyn Cline as Sarah Cameron
  • Rudy Pankow as JJ
  • Madison Bailey as Kie
  • Jonathan Daviss as Pope
  • Austin North  as Topper
  • Drew Starkey  as Rafe Cameron
  • Charles Esten  as Ward Cameron

Outer Banks  Season 3 spoilers

In an interview with  Metacritic ,  Elizabeth Mitchell  — who plays the scheming Carla Limbrey in the series — teased what's to come for her character. "I do get to hang out with Big John ( Charles Halford ) quite a bit, which is lovely, because he's terrific," Mitchell said. The final scene of  Outer Banks  Season 2 teased this partnership, since Big John told Limbrey he would help her find the shroud with healing powers if she agreed to help his son John B. "I don't know if you'd call it 'teaming up,' but they are indeed together a great deal of the time, especially in the first part." Of course, Limbrey has proven herself to be someone who can't be trusted — she killed her half-brother in Season 2. "I don't know that Limbrey is really a team player, let's just say that," Mitchell said.

What happened in  Outer Banks  Season 2?

Similar to Season 1,  Outer Banks  Season 2 ended with a near-death experience for the Pogues. Much of the Netflix show's second installment followed John B., Sarah, JJ, Kiara, and Pope as they tried to locate and retrieve the lost Cross of Santo Domingo. The season finale saw the crew secretly board the ship the  Coastal Venture  and attempt to take the cross. They failed after a chaotic shootout, and escaped on a lifeboat. Though the Pogues once again left empty-handed, the episode ended on a positive note as they celebrated being together and in safety — for now.

Where Was ‘Outer Banks’ Season 3 Filmed? Your Guide to Those Gorgeous Filming Locations, From OBX to El Dorado

‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 Returns With A New Adventure — And Two Parts!

‘outer banks’ star austin north arrested after attacking hospital workers: “the most extreme panic attack i’ve ever had”, secret netflix viewership data finally revealed in landmark report: netflix’s top 10 movies and top 10 shows, 7 shows like ‘pretty little liars’ if you’re looking for a mystery-thriller series with an edge.

Outer Banks has always been known for its treasure, endless action, and addicting romance. But do you know why Netflix subscribers keep pressing play? It’s the locations, baby. Not only is Outer Banks packed to the brim with swoon-worthy vacation destinations, but the series does everything in its power to make its locales as gorgeous as humanly possible. If you’re watching an episode of Outer Banks, you’re nearly guaranteed at least one stunningly sunny day and a jaw-dropping sunset.

Want to experience the Pogue life for yourself? We don’t blame you. Here’s everything we know about the filming locations used in Outer Banks Season 3.

Where Was Outer Banks Season 3 Filmed?

Just like in its first two seasons , a lot of filming for Outer Banks Season 3 took place in Charleston, S.C. The state was chosen over its northern peer due to North Carolina’s anti- LGBTQ+ law, which has been referred to as the “bathroom bill.” By now, we know the exact locations of some of these settings. Most of the waterfront boat scenes took place on Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant. Sarah Cameron’s home is actually the wedding and events venue Lowndes Grove , which can be found along the banks of the Ashley River, and the chateau can be found in the Secessionville Historic District in Charleston.

But true Pogues already know all this. Want to know the filming locations exclusive to Season 3? Then we have one word for you: Barbados. Up first is the one and only Poguelandia, the deserted island where John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kie (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) are abandoned for a month. That was filmed on Bathsheba Beach. The Camerons’ vacation house can also be found in Barbados. The real property is called Cove Spring House and is available for rentals.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Carlacia Grant (@carlaciagrant)

But what about El Dorado? Though Outer Banks claims that the city of gold is located around the Orinoco Basin in South America, it seems like most of this season’s tropical scenes were also filmed in Barbados. Cast members Chase Stokes, Jonathan Daviss , and Carlacia Grant all posted and tagged photos on Instagram that look similar to Season 3’s South American scenes. In her post, Grant even tagged Dina’s Bar and Cafe , indicating that they spent at least some time around Bathsheba and Saint Joseph, which is located on the eastern side of the island.

Basically, if you want to plan an authentic Outer Bank s vacation, they you’re going to need to book a trip to Barbados — not the mythical lost city of gold. That’s about as good an excuse as any to visit the vacation hotspot as any.

With even more stalking of google earth and the cast posting Behind the scenes footage that is 100% John Bs House

I went there and it doesn’t look like John Bs maybe close...but it’s the colorful house scooters wife lived in.

Hi, I just set up a road trip to see all of these locations next month... John B's house is the only one we are missing... any info would be much appreciated! Thanks

catamaran in outer banks season 3

Hey guys, we cannot publish the address of John B house (or the pier) per request of the owners. The neighbors are not happy with strangers trespassing their properties. If you are visiting the area, please remember that a private home is not a public TV set. Thank you all for your undersanding.

Just went to see everything... heads up- the church attic (John B's secret spot) is a set I believe. It looks too small to actually be what the show portrays.

We also did drive to John B's (it is private property) and the swing is still there!

The creepy house with the gold in the basement is 209 Ashley Ave. The top part of the house was added digitally for the show.

Hey! Are you sure, Because it looks like it 100% and the house in the background are the same and the road is to

To bad Netflix is intolerant and doesn't coexist! they miss the ball on North Carolina's Outer Banks a beautiful place. But they still kept the name Outer Banks isn't that ironic.

They dont support Anti LGTBQ+

Sorry you got that backwards, Netflix DID NOT film in N.C. because they are anti-LGBQ+, that's why they went to S.C. I don't have a horse in that race but to each their own. I applaud Netflix for that decision all the same.

What about the cemetery, where John B. has found a message from his father?

It’s asinine that Netflix would name a show about us but film it elsewhere. We had a horrible Governor. He’s gone. He did a lot of damage, but it is being reversed. So much of this show is inaccurate in representation. But then again it is all make-believe. But please know, it is geographically impossible to take any ferry to Chapel Hill!! And by the way, who are these people wanting to go stalk these fictional characters?

They should change the name then! No way this would have turned out this successful if not filmed in MP and Charleston! FACT

They never said they took a ferry to Chapel Hill. They took the ferry off the island. If you notice, they didn't arrive in Chapel Hill until after dark.

Someone's mad, so let me explain. North Carolina had or still has an Anti-LGTBQ+ Law and Netflix doesn't support that so they filmed in the South.

And we (the OBX) has too many national parks that can’t get ruined.

Anything at all filmed in OBX?

Where is Cameron's house in Nassau? Like the specific house in the neighborhood.

I don’t think it is fair to say “anti-LGBTQ law”. The bathroom law isn’t anti-anything. It just simply says you have to use the restroom of the gender in which you have been biologically assigned.

I was able to find the old Freedman's Church from the new season! It is actually now known as the "White Church" in Berkeley County and is located at 1513 Cainhoy Road, Charleston, SC! Looks as if they have a gate up leading into it but still pretty noticeable from the road! The courthouse inside and out is the Eternal Father of the Sea chapel on old Charleston Naval Base.

I was wondering about the Angel Oak. The series obviously didn't film the real tree, so what location did they use for that?

The scene in Season 2 Episode 5, where Pope goes to the apartment above the pharmacy to find his Grandmother's key, was taped at Guerin's Pharmacy on Main Street in Summerville.

Where would I be able to find Barry's trailer? Well worth a trip. Has anyone found the location of Kiara's house from season 2? I have been searching for days with no luck. Some have said it was on James Island, and others that it was in Mount Pleasant. Has anyone got any leads?

The Pelican Inn from season 2 is actually in Pawleys Island, SC. Burbage's Grocery was the gas station in the second season.

I knew from the first episode it wasn't the Outer Banks because of the lighthouse in the background of some of the water chase scenes. My question is: why keep the title if they didn't want to film there? I personally love the Outer Banks. It's beautiful, and I always met the friendliest people.

Does anyone know where the tree where they carved P4L is located (if it actually exists)?

The gas station John B and Sarah stop at in episode 4 is a different place from the service station pictured. The service station pictured was from episode 3 when Pope, JJ, and Kie stopped to get the truck repaired before they made it to Charleston. I’m not sure where this services station is. Although the gas station John B and Sarah stop at is indeed Burbage's self-service grocery.

Yes- this! The pic is NOT Burbages but the map location is correct for the actual Burbages. Picture is incorrect.

Kiara's house is located on Pitt Street in Mount Pleasant, the house is next to mine. <3

Oh! I thought it may be a house on McCants drive off Pitt. It looks like one I’ve seen on my walks on and around the bridge. (From a Mount Pleasant resident)

Is there an address for Topper's house?

Thank you for this! The reason I was looking for locations, was a rather uninteresting bit of the show: the simple, highway bridge that seems to connect the Cut to the Figure Eight. There's a common scene in the series showing the twinkie (or other vehicles) driving across a low, long bridge that perhaps is intended to connect the two halves of the island? I would really like to know where that bridge is.

It’s Breach Inlet. The bridge connects Sullivan’s Island to IOP.

Do you mean the bridge with the Outer Banks sign? It's the Breach Inlet. There's an electric bike tour company that goes there and other Outer Banks locations.

'The Acolyte's Amandla Stenberg Opens Up About the "Vitriol" Towards Cancelled Series

'industry' season 3 shows us a completely different side of kit harington, the 10 best 'the sopranos' characters, ranked.

The Pogues are back for Season 3, but this time, the gang is stranded on a Caribbean island off the Bahamas, biding their time. Netflix's Outer Banks follows a group of fun-loving, working-class teens from the Cut (a.k.a the wrong side of the island) who love to surf all day and party all night as they search for hidden treasure along their small coastal town in the Outer Banks of South Carolina. John B. Rutledge ( Chase Stokes ), the group's de-facto leader, has been grappling with his father's disappearance. While searching through his father's belongings, he finds clues that shed light on a treasure hunt that led Big John ( Charles Harlford ) to sail to sea and never return. With a bit of help from his friends like the straight-laced Pope ( Jonathan Daviss ), hot-headed JJ ( Rudy Pankow ), and hippie Kiara ( Madison Bailey ), John B sets out to find what exactly happened to Big John. Along the way, he falls for Sarah Cameron ( Madelyn Cline ), a Kook princess from Figure Eight and the daughter of Ward Cameron ( Charles Esten ), who knows far more about Big John's disappearance than he lets on.

Since its initial release on Netflix, Outer Banks has become a streaming hit. Both Season 1 and Season 2 have topped the Netflix Top Ten list for weeks after their respective releases. The show also scored an early renewal for a fourth season ahead of Season 3's release. Because of its popularity, fans worldwide have become invested not only in the adventures of John B and his crew but also in the actors behind their favorite characters. If you want to learn more about the cast behind these badass beach bums, read more below.

Chase Stokes as John B. Rutledge

As the charismatic and carefree leader of the Pogues, John B is arguably the main character of the series. Whether he's on the run with his star-crossed lover Sarah Cameron or standing up for his friends, John B wears his heart on his sleeve, almost to a fault. Popular among his peers, John B's easygoing charm draws viewers in, but it's the camaraderie with his pals that has led viewers to stay tuned for what happens next. John B is played by heartthrob and Florida native Chase Stokes who can be seen in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of Scott Westerfield's Uglies alongside Joey King . He will also play the leading man in another YA adaptation of the popular Marked Men series opposite newcomer Sydney Taylor .

Madelyn Cline as Sarah Cameron

The Kook princess herself and honorary Pogue, Sarah Cameron marches to the beat of her own drum. Like her boyfriend John B and their friends, she likes to buck convention, even if that means going against her family. She is kind and compassionate unlike the majority of her Kook peers, which intrigues John B. Before joining the Pogues, Sarah was an estranged friend of Kiara's. Thankfully, the girls were able to patch things up and support each other through the craziness wrought onto them by the treasure hunt. Madelyn Cline can be seen lighting up the screen as Whiskey in Rian Johnson 's Glass Onion , opposite a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Edward Norton , Dave Bautista , and Kate Hudson.

Jonathan Daviss as Pope Heyward

Pope is the brains of the operation and the most academically driven of the Pogues. All of his life, he's lived on the Cut and tried to do what he can to get a scholarship to get out of there, but his involvement with the Pogue's treasure hunt puts a wrench in that. As for his love life, his short-lived romance with Kiara turned out to be one-sided, but with the new addition Cleo ( Carlacia Grant ), there may still be hope for Pope's love life. Johnathan Daviss appeared in Netflix's campy teen comedy Do Revenge alongside Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke .

Rudy Pankow as JJ Maybank

JJ is John B's childhood best friend who comes from a self-proclaimed 'long line of fishing, drinking, vendetta-holding salt-lifers who made their living off the water." He's a reckless loose canon and always down to cause some chaos, especially if it means angering a few Kooks while he's at it. JJ comes from a fraught home environment, dealing with his father's abuse and a lack of financial stability, and he often seeks refuge in the arms of his friend Kie (who he may or may not have feelings for).

Outer Banks isn't the only treasure-hunting adventure where you can find Rudy Pankow, as he also had a small role as a young Sam Drake in the Uncharted film starring Tom Holland .

Madison Bailey as Kiara "Kie" Carrera

Although she's the daughter of a successful restaurateur and lives in Figure Eight, Kie has chosen to go against the grain and reject the Kook lifestyle in favor of freewheeling adventures with the Pogues. To the disappointment of her parents, she puts her friendships with her fellow Pogues above all else. She, like her fellow former Kook Sarah, likes to stand up for the underdogs who live on the Cut and has empathy in spades. When any of her buds need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to, Kie is there for them. However, sometimes the lines of friendship and something more has been blurred, like her short-lived relationship with Pope, but ultimately, Kie is a ride-or-die friend. Madison Bailey will be starring in the upcoming Netflix horror movie Time Cut opposite Ginny and Georgia 's Antonia Gentry .

Austin North as Topper Thornton

When we first meet Sarah Cameron, she's dating Topper ( Austin North ), a Kook cut from the same upper-crust cloth as her. Topper and Sarah may have a real connection, but it's Topper's jealousy towards John B that pushes Sarah away. Topper is caring and kind, but he too often succumbs to peer pressure from his entitled Kook friends. Before he was on Outer Banks, Austin North starred on the Disney Channel show, I Didn't Do It . He can be seen next in the movie Beautiful Wedding alongside fellow Disney alum, Dylan Sprouse .

Carlacia Grant as Cleo

Initially, a recurring character that John B and Sarah met while on the run in Season 2, the former cargo ship crew member turned Pogue officially joined the Pogues at the end of the season. A newer member of the Pogues, Cleo is getting to know everyone, especially Pope (who just might have caught her eye). Although she once worked for Captain Terrence aboard his ship from Nassau and has an affinity for knives, she ultimately proved to be a worthy ally for the Pogues. Carlacia Grant is a newcomer who's previously had small roles on The Resident and Roots .

Drew Starkey as Rafe Cameron

Rafe is Sarah's drug-addicted, unstable older brother whose bad decisions, like murdering Sheriff Peterkin ( Adina Porter ) in Season 1, lead his father to pin the crime on John B. Often the instigator of violence and the ringleader of the Kooks, Rafe is nothing but trouble. He's dangerous, impulsive, and easily manipulated by his father, all of which make him a wild card and a threat. Rafe will go to great lengths to try and protect the family legacy, even if that means attacking his own sister. Rafe is played by Drew Starkey , who has previously starred in the movies Love, Simon , The Hate U Give , and Hulu's Hellraiser . Starkey also starred in The Terminal List alongside Chris Pratt .

Charles Esten as Ward Cameron

As the villain of the series, Ward Cameron is a force to be reckoned with. Ruthless and calculated, Ward Cameron will stop at nothing to get the treasure, even if that means attempting to kill his own daughter, Sarah as he did in Season 2. With infinite resources at his disposal due to his wealth, he tries to pin Sheriff Peterkin's murder on John B, and is revealed to be the one who left Big John to die at sea while hunting for the treasure. Here's to hoping that karma will get him and his son.

Charles Esten plays the Cameron patriarch with a cold menace, a departure from his previous role as the country singer-songwriter Deacon Claybourne on Nashville .

Charles Harlford as Big John

Big John is the estranged father of John B. During the first two Seasons it's presumed that Big John is dead, but the Season 2 finale revealed that he is very much alive and is being kept hidden by Carla Limbrey ( Elizabeth Mitchell ).

Charles Harlford is most known for his roles as Chas Chandler in the short-lived but cult-favorite NBC series Constantine and for playing Earl in Steven Soderbergh 's southern heist comedy Logan Lucky .

Andy McQueen as Carlos Singh

Carlos Singh is the main antagonist of Season 3. He's a Caribbean don who is obsessed with finding the treasure of El Dorado. His high intelligence and ruthlessness make him a major threat to the Pogues.

Andy McQueen plays the villainous role. He previously appeared in the HBO Max limited series Station Eleven and in the HBO movie Fahrenheit 451 as Gustavo.

Lou Ferrigno Jr as Ryan

Ryan is the top security officer of Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen), who also acts as the antagonist's number one henchman.

Lou Ferrigno Jr is the son of, you guessed it, The Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno . Though this isn't his first role on television, he plays Sergeant Donovan Rocker on the CBS series S.W.A.T. , and he followed in his father's footsteps and played a superhero on the small screen in the DC Comics series Stargirl , where he guest-starred as Hourman.

Apart from these actors, you can also expect Cullen Moss , Julia Antonelli , Caroline Arapoglou , E. Roger Mitchell , Deion Smith , Nicholas Cirillo , Gary Weeks , Marland Burke , Elizabeth Mitchell , and Samantha Soule to recur in Season 3.

Outer Banks season 3 plot

The official summary reads:

"After losing the gold and fleeing the Outer Banks, season 3 finds the Pogues washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home. Officially deemed "Poguelandia," the island's newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling. But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. They're broke and far from home, they can't trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there's a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it's the Pogues against the world — and the only way out is together."

The Pogues are back on the hunt and as wily as ever when Season 3 returns to Netflix in 2023.

In a brand new Outer Banks teaser released Saturday as part of the streamer’s Tudum global fan event, we catch our first glimpse of “Poguelandia” in the upcoming season. As we watch the group playfully enjoy paradise, we’re told via voiceover that, “Nothing good comes easy, nothing worthy is given.” After a few frames of a fistfight, an encroaching wild animal and a sea plane coming in hot, the clip asks: “What are you willing to do to win? How far do you go to keep your treasure?” (And be sure to watch the video embedded above to see one gnarly leap of faith!)

The drama’s cast for Season 3 includes Chase Stokes, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Charles Esten and Drew Starkey. Carlacia Grant, who was introduced as Capt. Terrance’s crew member Cleo in Season 2, will also return and has been promoted to series regular.

Outer Banks creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shanon Burke will be back as showrunners and executive producers.

In the Season 2 finale , Sarah learned that her father, Ward Cameron, had faked his death. She, John B and the rest of the Pogues — with Cleo’s help — escaped a very bad fate by hopping in a life boat and getting away from a cargo ship carrying the Camerons. The teens eventually wound up on a deserted island; back in the Outer Banks, the adults in their lives hung “Missing” posters and worried about their absent kids. And in an end-of-finale twist , we learned that John B’s long-presumed-dead father, Big John, actually was alive (!) and possibly working with Season 2 villain Carla Limbrey (!!).

'Outer Banks' season 4 looks bigger than ever

Chase Stokes and Rudy Pankow in Outer Banks season 4

More from Tom's Guide

Ready for another sun-kissed season of Netflix 's hit teen drama? The streamer certainly hopes so, as they've just dropped the official teaser for the addictive drama's fourth outing.

"Outer Banks" season 4 will see the Pogues returning for more adventures and judging by what John B (Chase Stokes) tells us in the new trailer, it sounds like things are about to get bigger than ever. This makes sense, given the set-up for season 4.

If you recall, "Outer Banks" season 3 ended with an 18-month flash-forward showing Wes' (David Jensen) proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard's treasure, and season 4 is going to take us back in time to the lead-up to this exact moment. After their previous adventure together, the group committed to having some sort of "normal" life ... but season 4 will find the gang sucked back into the game all over again.

The official teaser gives us just a brief taste of what to expect this time around. While it begins with a few lazy snapshots of life in "Poguelandia", we soon hear from John B that they've got 'everything to lose' this time around. Cue clips of deep-sea dives, a fistfight, serious danger, and some serious stunts. Check it out below:

Outer Banks: Season 4 | Official Teaser | Netflix - YouTube

What is 'Outer Banks' season 4 about?

The full "Outer Banks" season 4 synopsis tells us that the Pogues aren't going to be out of action. It turns out finding the location of El Dorado wasn't enough; some financial trouble led them to take Wes up on his proposal — but this next treasure hunt will be anything but easy.

The synopsis reads: "Following last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure, Season 4 takes us back in time to the lead-up of that moment. After finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a “normal” life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed “Poguelandia 2.0”, where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop.

"But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the “G” game for a whole new adventure. But before they know it, they're well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future — who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?"

Everything to Know About 'Outer Banks' Season 3

From the trailer to the release date, here's everything to know about Outer Banks season 3

catamaran in outer banks season 3

Get ready to return to Poguelandia!

Netflix's Outer Banks is coming back for season 3 soon.

After the success of season 2 , which was released on July 30, 2021, Netflix renewed the show for a third season in December 2021.

In February 2022, Netflix announced that the series had officially started production on season 3 , posting a photo of the Pogues on Instagram .

Now fans are finally getting a first look at what lies in store for the Pogues. During Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event on Sept. 24, 2022, the cast shared the action-packed first teaser for the upcoming season and in January 2023, Netflix unveiled the first-look images .

Read ahead for everything to know about Outer Banks season 3 (warning: spoilers for season 2 ahead).

Which cast members are returning for Outer Banks season 3?

As shown in the season 3 teaser, most of the original cast members are returning , including Chase Stokes , Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Charles Esten, Jonathan Daviss and Drew Starkey. Carlacia Grant, who appeared as a new character named Cleo in season 2, has also been upped to a series regular , per Deadline.

Who is joining the cast of Outer Banks season 3?

In June 2022, Deadline announced three new stars for the upcoming season . Per the outlet, Andy McQueen ( Station Eleven ) is playing Carlos Singh, "a Caribbean Don who is intelligent, refined, and ruthless, and is out on a treasure hunt of his own," Fiona Palomo ( Control Z ) is playing Sofia, a Pogue who "secretly yearns to be a part of the country club crowd. Likable and scrappy, she starts to form a close connection with Rafe (Starkey)," and Lou Ferrigno Jr ( Stargirl ) is playing Ryan, "Singh's top security officer and enforcer."

What will Outer Banks season 3 be about?

Per a description from Netflix, season 3 of Outer Banks kicks off with the Pogues washing up on a desert island after losing the gold and fleeing their hometown. Their new location "seems like an idyllic home," but "things quickly go south" for the show's central group.

"They find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives," a synopsis from Netflix reads.

"They're broke and far from home, they can't trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there's a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty," the description continues. "Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it's the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together."

"John B's relationship with his dad is a huge theme," showrunner Josh Pate previously told Entertainment Weekly about season 3. "And having his dad back around and eventually they're going to meet back up and John B has to reconcile his idealized version of his dead dad with the reality of his alive dad, it gives us a lot of thematic father-son stuff to work with."

Pate teased that there could be some new romances developing as well, particularly with Kiara and JJ. "That was one thing we really loved about season 1 that's less of an element of season 2 that we really want to get back to," Pate said. "That was the plan, kind of architecting the characters towards opening up some romances in season 3."

Is there a trailer for Outer Banks season 3?

The first teaser trailer for season 3 was released during Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event on Sept. 24, 2022. In January 2023, Netflix shared the full trailer for the new season, showing John B. reuniting with his dad, the Pogues getting into trouble with the law and the continued search for treasure.

When will Outer Banks season 3 be released?

In January 2023, Netflix announced that season 3 will return on Feb. 23 . Along with the premiere date news, the streaming service unveiled several photos tied to the upcoming installment as well as promotional teaser art with the tagline, "Nothing to lose."

Will there be an Outer Banks season 4?

Netflix hasn't renewed the series yet, but showrunner Jonas Pate has expressed his desire for the show to run for at least four seasons. "Ever since we started, we always viewed it as something that was probably like a four-season, maybe five-season show, but definitely four seasons," he told EW . "We've sort of long-arced it out pretty far. I'm just hoping that we get a chance to actually tell those stories."

Where do I meet the boat for boarding and do we get off at the same place?

Can I bring more than 6 total guests?

Each boat can only take up to 6 guests. If you have a larger group, book a flotilla. We can accommodate up to 12 guests with a Flotilla Sail, where we sail two identical boats together. Such a fun experience, many options for extra fun with two boats. Check out our flotilla sailing .

When should I arrive at the dock?

Please arrive just a few minutes before your charter begins. You will find the start time of your charter on your receipt. Often, particularly in the heat of the summer season, our skippers are often taking a water break and will arrive just a few minutes before your charter. It only takes a couple minutes to board and shove off.

Where do we meet the boat and captain?

Most of our charters leave from the Buxton Harbor Hatteras Sailing Center at 48962 NC-12, Hatteras, NC 27953 . However, sometimes due to the weather we may depart from other locations. Your skipper will be in touch with you before your charter if there is any weather related start location change. Can children come on the boat?

Of course. We love kids, and have 3 of our own. Please bring your own lifejackets for children. Safety is so important to little ones, and according to the US Coast Guard regulations they are required to wear a life jacket at all times on the boat. The life vest should be comfortable enough that they will wear it and fit them appropriately.

Can I bring a cooler and drinks?

Please bring water and drinks. Alcoholic beverages are allowed, but your captain reserves the right to stop serving if a guest becomes a danger or annoyance to the other guests.

Please do not bring a cooler. We have a cooler and ice is provided. Whether you are an adult or a child, it is a good idea to bring along a lidded cup to prevent messy spills.
