How did Dodi and Diana get together?
Princess Diana and Dodi reportedly first crossed paths in 1986. According to The Independent, they met at a polo match when Dodi’s team played against Diana’s then-husband King Charles at Windsor Great Park. This interaction was later recreated on season 5 of The Crown, though some details were changed: On The Crown, Dodi’s father, Mohamed, sponsors the polo match in 1990 (not 1986) in an attempt to sit next to Queen Elizabeth. However, he ends up seated next to Diana instead, who smiles at Dodi — though the two do not speak in the episode.
The same year, both Diana and Dodi experienced strife in their individual relationships. Charles and Diana each began extramarital affairs in 1986: Charles confirmed in his authorized biography, The Prince of Wales, that he began his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, while ex-army Major James Hewitt also claimed to have started a five-year affair with Princess Diana around the same time. Dodi, meanwhile, wed model Suzanne Gregard in 1986 —but divorced eight months later.
In April 1992, Princess Diana attended the London premiere of Hook — which was executive produced by Dodi — with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. Jim Hart, a screenwriter for Hook, later told Vanity Fair that Dodi had noticed Princess Diana at the movie premiere.

While the Amazon founder made waves last year with the debut of his megayacht Koru, Zuckerberg is the name on the yacht world’s lips this season.
By May, the transaction seemed all but confirmed when both the yacht and Zuckerberg made their way to Panama to celebrate his 40th birthday with a fete that included a few spins on his infamous hydrofoil.

In 2021, Gates took delivery of what would become his starter yacht, Wayfinder. Measuring 224 feet (68.2 meters) in length and built at the cost of “just” $25 million by Astilleros Armon, Wayfinder is a Shadowcat, which means it’s a catamaran designed as a shadow vessel. Until just now, it was unclear exactly what Wayfinder was shadowing since no one seemed to be aware of the existence of a mothership.
That mothership, according to eSysman Superyachts who cites sources inside Feadship, is Project 821, currently under construction at the shipyard. Project 821 is a gigantic vessel with a 2024 delivery date, with a total length on water of 390 feet (119 meters) and an interior volume of over 7,000 GT. Until now, Project 821 has been closely kept under wraps.
Technically, it’s still being kept under wraps, but this seemed to have slipped through the cracks: Gates is selling it.

The historic photograph of Princess Diana sat on the passarelle of a yacht in August 1997, was aboard luxury yacht BASH , known as Jonikal at the time and later Sokar. Portofino in Italy was the fabulous backdrop to this historic moment in time and this summer she will again be cruising the Mediterranean showing off her luxury upgrades.
The refit project included refurbishments across nearly every part of the yacht: new penetrations of a bulkhead and deck, new wheelhouse bulkhead, new wiring and plumbing, upgraded air conditioning and stabiliser systems plus other technical improvements. Internally, a new layout and decor was designed by Slovenian company Bobic Yacht Interiors turning her into a vastly improved yacht with years of service ahead of her.

“Getting to this point took a lot of hard work and required a lot of skill, but it was worth the effort. Our warmest thanks go to all those who contributed to the refit of the motor yacht BASH,” said Teo Petricevic, CEO of Capax Ltd.

Giving viewers an inside look into life on board a superyacht, BASH is the subject of brand new documentary series ‘World’s Most Luxurious Yachts’.
She was filmed exploring the coastlines of Greece with her owner and his family, showing off her decadent interiors and state-of-the-art-amenities
As well as a glimpse at her various on-board areas, viewers also get a taste for the crew's role on deck. At one point, we see the captain navigate the four-deck motor yacht into a narrow berth in the port of Mykonos .
BASH is a custom-built motor yacht, launched by Benetti in 2012. She is available for private yacht charters across the Mediterranean , in hotspots including the French Riviera and Italy’s Amalfi Coast.
The yacht’s interiors have been created by Benetti’s in-house team. She has been tastefully styled to reflect owner Bassim Haïdar’s taste, which he describes in the episode as ‘A bit of classic, a bit of modern’.
She features leather-embossed ceilings, silk carpets, ornate chandeliers and gold-plated accents throughout.
Accommodation is provided for 12 guests in six cabins, including an owner’s cabin with a beauty salon, study area and separate his and hers ensuites with steam shower.
On a superyacht charter , guests can take full advantage of an enormous toy garage, which includes jet-skis, a Flyboard, inflatable trampoline, floating pool and a waterslide.
The yacht also benefits from an on-deck jacuzzi, movie projector and iPad remotes which control the cabins' temperature and entertainment systems.
BASH is due to appear at the 2019 Monaco Yacht Show in just over two weeks. She joins fellow Benetti build motor yacht METIS , a 63m/207ft superyacht which is making her worldwide debut at the show.
You can catch up on the 'Word's Most Luxurious Yachts' on My5.
