 56m Perini Navi sailing yacht Melek soldThe 56 metre Perini Navi sailing yacht Melek has been sold in an off-market deal at Edmiston & Company with the seller represented by Bruce Brakenhoff and the buyer introduced by Dirk Johnson. Built in aluminium by Italian yard Perini Navi to a design by Ron Holland and delivered in 2010 as a cruising ketch, Melek has had the same owner until now. As the ninth 56 metre Perini Navi, she may share the qualities and attributes of her sisters, but she has her own character and elegant innovations. Among them are a hydraulically opening transom, which contains a structural staircase descending to a wide bathing platform, a portside platform and some differences in layout including a larger, athwartships dining room forward of the saloon and a corridor allowing crew to move from the aft cockpit to the crew quarters without impinging on guest privacy. Accommodation is for 11 guests in five cabins configured as a full beam master suite, three doubles and a twin plus a Pullman berth. All guest cabins have en suite shower facilities while the crew quarters sleep 11 staff. The flybridge hosts a Jacuzzi spa tub which is surrounded by an ample seating area. There are two further outdoor lounging areas, one on the foredeck and another on the aft deck and these are both furnished with sun loungers. Under power, her top speed is 15.5 knots and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 3,600 nautical miles at 13 knots with power coming from two 1,275hp Caterpillar C-32 diesel engines.
