The most epic super-yachts at the F1 Monaco Grand Prix

Yachts routinely steal the show during the F1 grand prix weekend.

superyacht monaco grand prix

The yachts docking in the harbour for the F1 Monaco Grand Prix have turned heads - with a couple particularly impressing.

A yacht named Seven Sins caused a commotion because there is a Bugatti Chiron onboard.

The Seven Sins can be chartered for a week at a much more reasonable $300,000 but that doesn’t come with the Bugatti!

The car itself is worth around £2.5m and, now, there is one in full view in Monaco harbour during the F1.

A yacht named Evrima, owned by Ritz-Carlton, is being used by Lewis Hamilton , George Russell and Toto Wolff as part of their partnership with Mercedes .

Evrima is more of a floating luxury hotel than a boat.

Guests have voyaged around France before docking in Monaco for the coolest weekend of the year.

Rooms cost $10,000 to $100,000 for holidaymakers at this time of year.

If you want to charter Evrima, it will set you back $2.2m for a week.

It boasts 149 rooms, a private terrace for each suite, an infinity pool and even an onboard therapist.

It has direct access to the seawater, and watersports, from its deck.

The biggest yacht at the Monaco Grand Prix (so far) is actually owned by the Ritz-Carlton. • 149 Cabins • Pools, Spa & Gym • Rooms cost $10,000 to $100,000+ It's essentially a luxury cruise — you spend a few days in France and then dock in Monaco for the race. Pretty crazy. pic.twitter.com/7aGVIs5Peg — Joe Pompliano (@JoePompliano) May 23, 2024

A superyacht named Faith has also docked in Monaco for the grand prix and it is known to some of F1's richest people.

The $200m yacht was previously owned by Lawrence Stroll, the current Aston Martin owner.

Stroll sold it to the billionaire father of former F1 driver Nicholas Latifi.

Faith has a helipad onboard plus a gym and a theatre.

And it's yours to rent for one week for a mere $1.5m...

A yacht named Lionheart is also turning heads in Monaco this year.

It was formerly owned by businessman Philip Green, and is valued at $150m.

The largest yacht currently in Monaco's Port Hercule is Lionheart, a superyacht built for businessman Philip Green by Benetti SpA, which cost $150 million. Most famously, when Kimi Raikkonen was forced to retire early from the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix, rather than go back to his team garage he instead walked straight to the harbour to find his yacht.

Moments later, he was spotted lounging in the sun onboard his private yacht with his friends - with the F1 race going on without him.

Putting the pedal to the metal, the fast and furious Monaco Grand Prix returns to the streets of Monte Carlo on one of the toughest courses of the Formula One calendar. One of the biggest social events of the year for visiting Mediterranean yacht charters , the Circuit de Monaco draws crowds in their thousands, plus a glistening array of superyacht charters .

An adrenaline-fueled 77-lap race with intrinsic chicanes and hairpins, Circuit de Monaco is one of the ultimate tests for participating Formula One racers, battling for their place on the coveted podium. Close up view of the pits at the Monaco Grand Prix

While many corporate yacht charters thrive on the electric atmosphere of Port Hercule during the racing program, some of the most extravagant megayacht charters can be spotted at anchor in the bay.

Close enough to enjoy the atmosphere of the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix , but far away enough to escape the hustle and bustle on the mainland, charter guests out in the bay can embrace the best of both worlds, with easy access to the main event via helicopter or tender, and abundant space to open up the toy garage for fun in between in the races.

Here are some of the stunning super yacht charters currently at anchor at the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Largest Superyachts in Monaco for the 2022 Grand Prix

By Emily Dawkins

The Monaco Grand Prix is often recognised as one of the most iconic events in the summer calendar; not only for the fans of Formula One and motorsports, but also for the luxurious world of superyachts.

Marking the unofficial start of the yachting charter season, the prominent motorsport event offers the perfect opportunity for the UHNW elite to revel in all things luxury. From a-list events, dazzling car displays and lavish boutiques, the Grand Prix in Monaco has it all.

Not just offering the perfect high-class experience inland, the waters of Monaco present an incredible location to watch the GP races unfold. The legendary Port Hercule provides numerous berths with stern-to-track mooring, allowing those on yachts to watch the action unfold from the comfort of their lounges onboard.

With only one day remaining until the start of the 2022 Monaco GP, we take a look at the largest yachts that have been spotted in Monaco, either berthed in Port Hercule or deeper in the Monégasque bay.

96.6m FAITH

Delivered by Feadship in 2017, 96.6m FAITH is a magnificent example of the meticulous craftsmanship of the Dutch yard. Across five vast decks, FAITH offers numerous indoor and outdoor entertaining and lounge areas: an idyllic spot to watch the races from the water. With exceptional onboard features including a glass-bottomed swimming pool and large beach club, FAITH also provides an excellent retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the GP. Currently listed for charter with Burgess , it is no surprise that this breathtaking superyacht is berthed in Port Hercule.

92.4m TATOOSH

Two legends meet: Nobiskrug’s 92.4m TATOOSH has been spotted in the waters of Monaco. Delivered in 2000 by the German yard, the white superstructure of TATOOSH is recognisable around the world. Featuring several versatile exterior spaces and an array of onboard amenities including a jacuzzi, pool, and a floor that rises to become a dancefloor, TATOOSH fits in perfectly with Monaco’s opulence. Joining the brokerage market in 2021, the 92.4m motor yacht is listed for sale with Burgess .

91.5m QUEEN MIRI

91.5m QUEEN MIRI is the largest yacht to be delivered by Greek shipyard Neorion. Abundant in space, both inside and out, alongside numerous sublime features including a children’s playroom, beauty salon and conference facilities, QUEEN MIRI presents the ultimate yacht for optimal work/life balance. Spotted moored in Port Hercule’s Quai Rainier III, QUEEN MIRI is currently believed to be privately owned.

90m LIONHEART

Launched by Benetti in 2016, 90m LIONHEART remains in her home berth of Port Hercule for the Monaco GP this year. Often spotted cruising the nearby Mediterranean waters, little has been revealed about LIONHEART since her launch, but with an array of comfortable outdoor areas the 90m would undoubtedly offer an exemplary location for watching the GP. She is currently berthed at the end of Quai Rainier Ier.

88.5m CLOUD 9

Moored at Monaco’s deep water anchorage is Oceanco’s 88.5m CLOUD 9. Previously named INFINITY,  the 88.5m was delivered in 2015 by the Dutch shipyard, and was sold by Burgess earlier this year. As one of the largest sales of 2022 so far, CLOUD 9’s appearance in Monaco is the first time she has been seen since her name change. She is now available for charter with Burgess for the first time since her delivery.

Other large superyachts that have been spotted in Port Hercule and Monaco's surrounding waters include:

87.78m FOUNTAINHEAD

86m MAN OF STEEL for charter with Ocean Independence

82.5m SECRET for sale and charter with  Burgess

81.2m GRACE

74.5m LADY E for charter with Burgess

73m CORAL OCEAN

109m BRAVO EUGENIA was recently spotted in Monaco but has since moved to the nearby Port Vauban Antibes, where 91.5m TRANQUILLITY and 97.2m CARINTHIA VII are also berthed.

With the action set to kick off tomorrow with the first F1 free practice sessions, we can’t wait to see what the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix will hold, and what other superyachts will make an appearance in Port Hercule.

Very professional, customer orientated company - they remember your name when you call. Nothing seems too much trouble. Their packages are excellent - great choices along the Course to see the Cars. Rascasse and the Yachts in the harbour, being the best in my opinion.

Penelope Claire Mann - 2024

The Monaco Grand Prix was an amazing experience thanks to Senate Grand Prix. Senate Grand Prix takes the extra effort to treat all of there clients as if they where family and they make it affordable..

Art Gordon - 2024

From the moment you pick up the tickets , to the event itself, and the goodbye and drop off. I booked with Senate Grand Prix for the Monaco Grand Prix yacht experience and it has been second to none. Picking up your tickets at hotel hermitage with quite the welcome spread. Heading to the event with multiple people stationed in the principality to help you get to where you need (as this can get a little confusing for new timers). And, to the event itself, the Monaco Grand Prix weekend viewed from a beautiful yacht catered excellently, and served by quite the wonderful crew. I’m going again next year and bringing more of my friends and will be booking to senate Grand Prix again.

Mr. Lime - 2024

Absolutely fantastic experience - treated like royalty by the Senate team. Everything went like clock work and the service, food, facilities were great. The package we chose gave us exceptional views and we had a truly amazing experience!.

Stacey - 2024

Amazing trip to Monaco with my family and a few friends! We got to check one off the bucket list sitting on the back of a yacht watching the cars go by. Then moved spots each day for premier viewing and touring of Monaco. What an incredible experience. I would highly recommend this full package with stay at the Famous Fairmont. They even have two Michilin star restaurants in the hotel!

Jake William Thomas - 2024

What a weekend at Silverstone Grand Prix, the whole weekend exceeded my expectations and can’t thank the Senate team enough for providing such great service! The viewing from the legends suite was amazing, the food and drinks were faultless. Big Thankyou to Sian at senate for making it a fantastic experience, not just for me but for everyone that was in our suite. Highly recommend and will be booking with you in the future!

From the archives: 9 decades of yachts at the Monaco Grand Prix

In the heart of the Monaco, yachting and Formula One always been inextricably linked; here are some historic photos through the decades.

1934: Classic yachts keep their distance

Yachts at the Monaco Grand Prix are blessed with a trackside view as the race snakes along Monaco's waterfront and harbour. Since the Monaco Grand Prix began in 1929, the race has grown and changed with the times. So too have the yachts at the Monaco Grand Prix .

What is now the biggest and most glamorous automobile race came from humble beginnings – the first Monaco Grand Prix saw 16 participants vying for a prize of 100,000 francs. The photo above shot in 1934 shows Pierre Veyron driving a Type 51 Bugatti ahead of Carlo Felice Trossi in a Scuderia Ferrari P3 Type B Alfa Romeo.

What makes this photo stand out – besides the now-historic F1 cars – is the yachts in the background, what we would certainly now consider “classics”.

This doesn’t mean these were small vessels by any means. Some of the top classic yachts in the world were delivered in the early 1900s, such as the 60.96 metre Madiz , built in 1902, and the 83.21 metre Dannenborg , built in 1931, which bears a striking resemblance to the yacht to the far right.

1955: Sailing yachts dominate

In this photo from 1955, we see Cesare Perdisa driving a Maserati 250F, moving over to allow Juan Manuel Fangio in the Mercedes-Benz W196 and his teammate Stirling Moss in the Mercedes-Benz W196 pass by.

But the scene stealers are the graceful sailing yachts in the background. The prevalence of sailing yachts in attendance at the Monaco Grand Prix – many more than motor yachts this particular year – is notable. Quite a difference from today where it’s predominantly large motor yachts crowding the harbour.

1972: Motor yachts join the party

In 1972, the F1 race cars are starting to look more modern than the yachts that line the harbour. But don’t let this fool you, yachts are keeping apace.

Only a year later, for instance, the Jon Bannenberg design The One , launched as Carinthia VI , debuts – which is still regarded as one of the most beautiful yachts in the world and has gone on to inspire modern builds like Lürssen’s Limitless .

In the photo above, French driver Jean-Pierre Beltoise drives his BRM to victory, winning the 1972 Monaco Grand Prix. The yachts in background watching the race all fly the classic pennant flags and look very stately indeed.

1988: Yachts berth close to the track

Ah, the 80s. Big hair, big shoulder pads and a big focus on yacht windows. Aside from the classic yacht (third one in) with the Portuguese bridge, all the motor yachts trackside at the Monaco Grand Prix in this picture from 1988 have some rather interesting superstructure design choices that place them in this particular era.

Aggressively angled wheelhouses, triangular shaped windows and tinted blue flybridge windscreens are on trend. Also trending, only half the yachts are now flying pennants and there seems to be a lot of swimwear as the outfit of choice and a lot more skin on show.

Here we can see that the yachts are clearly starting to take centre stage, with McLaren Honda driver Alain Prost of France racing past them – he finished first place that year.

1990: Yachts line the seawall

This shot of yachts at the 1990 Monaco Grand Prix aptly depicts the end game of yachts’ migration over the decades as they've moved from out in the harbour to the seawall in the Port of Hercules.

Perhaps what's most striking in this photo is how different security is from today; no gates, no guards and the yachts firmly affixed to the wall rather than floating just off and tendering guests in.

Alain Prost of France drives his Scuderia Ferrari SpA Ferrari 641 Ferrari V12 past the yachts moored stern-to in the harbour during a practice for the 1990 Monaco Grand Prix.

1996: Sponsorship along the race track in full effect

The mid-1990s saw sponsorship and advertising along the race track on the harbour rise to its full effect. Now yachts along the quay not only enjoyed a front row view of the racing action, but were unable to escape being inundated by advertising and branding of all kinds. Welcome to the modern world of sports.

The photo above shows the warm-up lap before the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix. The cars, starting from the front, are Mika Hakkinen (McLaren), Heinz-Harald Frentzen (Sauber), Jacques Villeneuve (Williams), Mika Salo (Tyrrell), Jos Verstappen (Footwork) and Johnny Herbert (Sauber). The partially hidden car behind Johnny Herbert's is the Ligier of Olivier Panis, who took the top podium spot at the 1996 MGP.

2006: Yacht security boosted

In 2006, we see the yachts at the Monaco Grand Prix coming into their full form. The harbour is brimming with yachts of all sizes, from classic motor yachts to sporty open yachts and, in the middle of the port, the very large superyachts and even a sailing yacht of superyacht proportions.

What we see here in particular is how security has changed, a stark contrast to the photo from 1990. Less than two decades later, yachts are not content to snug along the seawall with nary a guard in site. Now even the smaller yachts have a fence surrounding them, and the larger yachts are moored off the wall to the north side of the harbour, with yacht tenders ferrying guests out to them.

In a very lively Monaco Grand Prix this year, that saw crashes and some ferocious over taking, the win went to Fernando Alonso.

2016: Superyachts flock to Port Hercules

As the race has grown into the most important and glamorous of automotive races, so too has spectator element of enjoying the prestigious perch of watching the Monaco Grand Prix from a yacht. Every year, more and more yachts squeeze into Port Hercules for the event – or anchor offshore – hosting fabulous parties attended by yacht owners and their VIP guests, yacht charterers and celebrities.

Nine decades after the Monaco Grand Prix premiered in the petite principality of Monaco, and the yachts are night and day to those seen in the early years. No less than 171 superyachts were spotted in and out of the harbour on the first practice day (May 27), including 82.3 metre Secret , 75.5 metre Boadicea , 99 metre Madame Gu .

2017: More yachts attend than ever before

As the years have gone by, the yachts in attendance have only grown in size and number. In this photo taken at 2017's Monaco Grand Prix, this is evident, with the harbour at Port Hercules filled by superyachts and even a cruise ship.

The fee to be docked berth side for the Monaco Grand Prix can be up to €16,625 per day for a 60-metre yacht, which is nearly 14 times more than the typical summer season rate of €1,200 per day. Booking must take place far in advance. But there are likely many more yachts that would pay it if they could, as the harbour fills up every year. What isn't pictured is the bay just beyond the harbour, which is also filled with an incredible amount of superyachts.

Monaco Yacht Show 2024: The Biggest, Boldest and Most Expensive Superyachts To See

Even in its 33rd year, Monaco Yacht Show continues to break its own milestones.

By Ellys Woodhouse and Toby Louch

superyacht monaco grand prix

The principality of Monaco has a calendar that’s filled with major events. While the financial benefits of this little tax haven ensure its population remains fairly well stocked with super-rich and socialites year-round, it’s these events that truly bring the masses. April calls for the tennis at The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters; in May it’s time for the Formula One Grand Prix ; June brings the world-famous car show Top Marques ; and summer draws to a close with perhaps the most glam of the bunch, the Monaco Yacht Show, which this year falls on September 25 – 28.

For those interested in gazing upon some of the finest yachts that can be found anywhere in the world, Monaco ’s Port Hercules is a pretty good spot year-round, but for the weekend of the Monaco Yacht Show, things enter a different league.

The Monaco Yacht Show is essentially a gathering of the global superyacht community. From owners to innovators, manufacturers and brokers, all head to the principality. Each year, builders and brokers present around 120 superyachts and 60 luxury tenders , with many of these reflecting current industry trends and revealing the potential future direction of the industry. These vessels boast an average length of around 160 ft, with a sprinkling of superyachts that top the 320 ft mark – with this year’s headliner clocking in at 400 ft.

Aside from the yachts themselves, visitors can expect countless designers improving yacht interiors and engineers working to ensure the industry becomes more sustainable. There’s sure to be a lot going on.

So ahead of this year’s event, Elite Traveler has looked into which yachts will be on display at Port Hercules and curated a list of some of the show’s unmissable vessels. So blow the dust off your Panama hat and add a few zeros to your credit card limit, because these are some of the biggest, boldest and most expensive boats attending the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show.

The undisputed biggest headline of this year’s show – in every sense of the word – Lürssen’s Kismet will be the largest yacht to go on display in Port Hercules. While the previous title holder was another from Lürssen, the 377.6-ft Ahpo, the Kismet takes its victory by a considerable mile, clocking in at 400 ft. Previously known as Project Jag, the Kisamet was handed over to owner Shahid Khan in May 2024, making it one of the show’s newest deliveries, too.

With exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and naval architecture by Lürssen Yachts along with Reymond Langton Design working on the yacht’s interiors , Kismet is decked out with a helipad, beauty salon, indoor and outdoor cinema, dance floor and gym. Perhaps unsurprising, but all this makes Kisamet one of the most expensive yachts to charter , too, asking for €3m (approx. $3.4m) per week with Cecil Wright & Partners.

Delivered in 2019 by SilverYachts and refitted in 2024, the almost 280-ft, self-described ‘sports activity vessel’ Bold takes center stage at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Designers Espen Øino created the superyacht’s striking, military-inspired exterior, creating a unique glass-enclosed loft on the upper deck that covers over 3,200 sq-ft of interior space. Meanwhile, Vain Interiors has created an opulent, New York-style loft, which is built to accommodate up to 12 overnight guests in eight luxurious staterooms and can carry up to 96 passengers while cruising.

With a a huge selection of water toys, a vast outdoor entertaining area with a bar and Teppanyaki grill, a cinema, an eight-person hot tub and a lounge surrounding a firepit, it’s no surprise that the Bold is a popular charter yacht, with Holl Robinson asking €875,000 ($972, 800) per week.

superyacht monaco grand prix

Following an extensive, three-year rebuild, the most expensive superyacht on the market has returned to Port Hercules for 2024, complete with a new look – and price tag, too, asking for €295m ($328m). The 344.5-ft Oceanco H3 superyacht has already picked up a handful of international awards for the new look and is expected to impress many fans at Monaco Yacht Show 2024.

In addition to the extra 10 meters that were added to the H3 ’s hull, the rebuild – from the likes of Reymond Langton Design, which worked on both the exterior and interior redesign, and the collaboration between Lateral Naval Architects and Oceanco on its naval architecture – also saw a pool deck, huge spa and wellness area and climate-controlled winter garden added to H3 ’s numerous amenities.

With its distinctive, shark-like exterior design, the 295-ft superyacht DAR will be hard not to miss at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Built by Oceanco with exteriors designed by Luiz de Basto Design, the glossy black silhouette was inspired by the look of the hammerhead shark, with sinuous lines, wide set wing stations and a mast modeled after a dorsal fin.

Meanwhile, renowned Italy-based studio Nuvolari & Lenard has crafted swooping, contemporary interiors. DAR’s impressive features include a complete owner’s deck, complete with a private salon and jacuzzi, a wellness area, an impressive beach club, and two helipads for private use. Offering grandeur and complete privacy in equal doses, DAR can accommodate up to 14 guests in overnight accommodation, with separate living quarters to host as many as 31 crew members.

Despite only hitting the waters in June this year, the first wallywind110, Galma , is set to make its global debut at Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Measuring almost 110 ft, Galma ’s naval architecture comes from German studio judel/vrolijk & co while interior and exterior lines are designed by Wally in collaboration with Santa Maria Magnolfi. With a design that offers the comfort of a cruising yacht while maintaining the performance of a racing boat, Galma is characterized by the 22.6-ft telescopic keel and an all-carbon hull that has been painted in light metallic blue.

Other highlights of Galma include an 860-sq-ft full-beam cockpit with seating and dining for up to 15 people, as well as an open-plan raised saloon. Galma can accommodate up to eight guests overnight, with five crew members.

The 400-foot-long Kismet embarks on her maiden voyage in the Med

When it comes to exclusive enclaves, it’s pretty hard to compete with Monaco. The world’s elite flock to the tiny principality on the French Rivera for its sunny weather, sophisticated hotels and casinos, spectacular shopping and other financial reasons. They love to drive their fast cars down the famous roads leading into the city, and they love the speed and power of the legendary Monaco Grand Prix, too.

Monaco Yacht Show 20224

But as for the absolute pinnacle of luxury, it doesn’t get much better than owning a superyacht. And for the select few who happen to be shopping for a superyacht, there’s one place to see nearly all of the best, and biggest, and most technologically advanced yachts that money can buy (in addition to the tenders, and limousines, and private submarines, and luxury cars that go along with a superyacht) in one place: The Monaco Yacht Show , which starts next week.

Renaissance is massive

During the show, the docks of Monaco’s famous port are always filled with numerous yachts longer than 250 feet. But this year, the largest superyacht in the show is 400 feet long! And lots of superyachts in the 300-foot-long range will be there, too.

Hackers Force Chrome Users To Hand Over Google Passwords. Here’s How

Apple’s update decision—bad news confirmed for millions of iphone users, today’s eclipse of the full moon sets up a ‘ring of fire’ — what to know.

So, if you are lucky enough to be in Monaco later this month, I’ll see you there. But if you not, here’s a sneak peek at the five largest yachts that will be on display.

Kismet underway

What can I say about the 400-foot-long Kismet (which was built by Lürssen , features an exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and an interior design by Reymond Langton Design and is available for charter with Cecil Wright ) that can help you understand just how big a 400-foot-long superyacht is? How about, since it measures 40 feet longer than an American football field (including the end zones), it’s safe to say that Kismet would only just barely fit inside the Jacksonville Jaguars EverBank Stadium. And that’s only if it could somehow be lowered from the top with a crane!

Kismet departs Lurssen shipyard in Germany

But since these photos and that explanation can’t really convey just how big Shaid Kahn ’s (the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars) new 400-foot-long superyacht is...The only way you’ll really be able to understand just how big the Jacksonville Jaguars owner’s new yacht is to see it for yourself in Monaco next week. It’s going to be largest yacht at the show and has raised the bar on what’s possible when it comes to designing, building, owning and chartering the largest yachts in the world.

The interior for the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week

And since Kismet has already spent her first season in the Mediterranean and is available for charter through Cecil Wright (instead of being hidden away for a private owner like many yachts in this size range are), you, too, could experience what it’s like to live the superyacht life aboard one of the largest and most opulent vessels in the world.

The interior for the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week is massive

So, if you looking for a charter yacht that costs roughly $3 million per week, the Monaco Yacht Show will be the place where you can see just how opulent Kismet (and theses other superyachts too) for yourself.

‘Renaissance’

The Bannenberg & Rowell-designed Renaissance that can accommodate 36 guests in 16 cabins is unlike ... [+] most other superyachts that are available to charter

The 367-foot-long, 7,200-gross ton, Bannenberg & Rowell -designed Renaissance is um, a “really big superyacht.” But what intrigues me the most is that unlike most superyachts that can only accommodate 12 guests per charter, Renaissance has been designed to swaddle 36 guests in superyacht luxury.

Renaissance underway

As you’d imagine, this yacht has it all. Open-air dining on five decks and a dining room with 18-foot-tall ceilings on the main deck. A sushi bar. A pizza oven by the huge pool. And of course, the requisite DJ stations when it’s time to party. There’s also a massive cinema that has seating 19 guests on lower deck—the perfect place to just Netflix-n-chill.

The 18-foot ceilings aboard RENAISSANCE BANNENBERG + ROWELL DESIGN

And, oh yeah, the spa features hot and cold plunge pools, steam room and sauna, two treatment rooms and a full beauty salon. Contact Burgess for more info.

The all-new exterior lines of Oceanco H3

I’ve seen lots of superyacht designs come to life thanks to the hard work, dedication, perseverance and love that the large fraternity of superyacht designers, builders, artists and countless others pour into every spectacular new yacht that gets launched.

The rebuilt Oceanco H3 got a "rockstar" relaunch.

But I must admit, after seeing the 344-foot-long Oceanco -built (and rebuilt) H3 (first launched in 2000) emerge after an intensive 3-year-rebuild, I’m at a loss for words. I’m in awe, actually. Because after spending time at Oceanco with the project team and the owner's representative , I understand why this project is way more than just a refit.

It’s been transformed into a brand-new yacht with every modern comfort, but also retains its…soul.

The accommodations onboard the 334-foot-long H3 are spectacular

The sustainability impact of this project is also pretty awe-inspiring to me, too. According to Oceanco’s team of engineers, simply using an existing hull instead of building an brand-new one resulted in a 50% reduction of carbon emissions for the build. And since H3 has been repowered with smaller yet much more efficient engines (and her top speed has been reduced slightly), the yacht burns much less fuel than she previously did as well. Delivery time was reduced by 25% as well, and hopefully we see more projects take this approach in the future.

The video wall in the welcome area of the Ocean co H3 is innovative as well as attention grabbing.

Oceanco’s CEO Marcel Onkenhout adds, “To say that this has been a remarkable process is an understatement. The project has called for passion, dedication and extraordinary craftsmanship, with many involved in her creation now contributing to her recreation, including myself.” Contact Edmiston for more info.

Silver Yachts' BOLD is sure to get attention at this years Monaco Yacht Show

The 278-foot-long BOLD is the largest and most aggressive superyacht the Australian-based Silveryachts has ever built. Working in collaboration with yacht designer Espen Øino BOLD brings a whole new look to the explorer yacht category.

There helideck aboard BOLD is...bold!

Amels Full Custom ENERGY will be at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show

The 255-foot-long Amels full-custom yacht ENERGY was created by exterior designer Espen Øino and interior designer Francois Zuretti to provide unapparelled luxury and access to the water.

The top deck’s helipad forward is a versatile space outside heliops—sun lounge, al fresco yoga studio with wraparound ocean views, a space for elevated entertainment served by the statement bar...assorted lounging areas and dayhead inside. The jacuzzi and sun pads aft allow guests to bask in the sun.

The bridge deck music lounge is designed for acoustic excellence. There is a Steinway baby grand piano and marble-topped bar. The entertainment continues in the open-air lounge aft, guests can find some privacy on the sofa forward of the bridge or keep going on the walkaround sidedecks to appreciate the anchorage from every possible vantage point.

Full-height windows in the the owner’s deck bedroom provide direct access to a private foredeck terrace, a hot tub and a mesmerizing marble fire pit. Contact Burgess for more info.

History of Novosibirsk Oblast

Over thousands of years, the territory of the Novosibirsk region, due to its location on the border of natural zones and cultural regions (the Siberian taiga and the Eurasian steppe), played the role of a buffer zone or border zone of different peoples.

In the 13th-15th centuries, this land was the eastern outskirts of the Golden Horde. Later, until the end of the 16th century, it was part of the Siberian Khanate. In the 18th century, the territory of the present Novosibirsk region became part of the Russian Empire.

Despite the relatively favorable climate, the Russians began to settle here relatively late. The Barabin Tatars were the indigenous people. Today, their total population is about 10,000 people living mainly in the western parts of the region.

The Barabin Tatars were subjected to constant attacks of the Kalmyks (the Oyrates and Teleuts). Russian villages were also under the threat. That’s why people preferred to settle in the north, near Tomsk. Only at the end of the 17th century, Novosibirsk province became attractive to settlers.

More Historical Facts…

The first settlement was founded by the boyar son Alexey Kruglik in 1695. Later, this settlement became the village of Kruglikovo. Today, it is located in Bolotninsky district. In the early 18th century, Berdsky stockaded town was built. Over time, the threat from the nomads decreased and the number of settlers increased.

In 1722, the Siberian line of fortresses along the Irtysh River was constructed. The locals were mainly engaged in soil tilling, fishing and hunting. In the early 19th century, the famous Ural manufacturer Akinfiy Demidov constructed two copper melting plants here - Kolyvansky and Barnaulsky.

In 1893, due to the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway and the railway bridge across the Ob River, Alexandrovsky settlement was built (from 1895 - Novonikolayevsky). Thanks to its convenient geographical location (the Trans-Siberian Railway crossing the Ob River, transportation ways connecting Siberia with the European part of the Russian Empire), its trade importance grew rapidly. In 1909, Novonikolayevsk became a town. In 1925, it was renamed in Novosibirsk.

Before 1921, the territory of Novosibirsk oblast was part of Tomsk gubernia, from 1921 to 1925 - of Novonikolayevsk gubernia, from 1925 to 1930 - of Siberian krai, from 1930 to 1937 - of West Siberian krai. September 28, 1937, West Siberian krai was divided into Novosibirsk oblast and Altay krai. This date is considered the official date of the region formation.

Novosibirsk Oblast - Features

Novosibirsk Oblast is located in the south east of the East-Siberian Plain, in the steppe, forest-steppe and taiga zones, between the Ob and the Irtysh rivers. The length of the region from west to east - 642 km, from north to south - 444 km.

The southern part of Vasyugan swamp, the largest swamp in the world, occupies the territory in the north and north-west of the province. In the southwest, it borders with Pavlodar oblast of Kazakhstan.

There are about 3,000 lakes on the territory of the Novosibirsk region. The largest lakes are Chany, Ubinskoye, Sartlan. Novosibirsk Reservoir also known as “the Ob Sea” (1,082 sq. km.) was created for Novosibirsk Hydroelectric Power Plant.

The climate is continental. The average temperature in January ranges from minus 16 degrees Celsius in the south and minus 20 degrees Celsius in the north. The average temperature in July - plus 18-20 degrees Celsius.

The largest cities and towns are Novosibirsk (1,621,000), Berdsk (103,500), Iskitim (54,700), Kuybishev (43,000). Novosibirsk is one the largest industrial, transport, scientific, and cultural center of Russia, the third most populous city in the country after Moscow and St. Petersburg. It is also the capital of the Siberian Federal District.

In the historical part of Novosibirsk you can find a lot of preserved monuments of the Russian Empire times. The Soviet era is presented by numerous scientific and cultural attractions, as well as beautiful parks.

There are more than 500 deposits of various mineral resources in Novosibirsk Oblast (coal, refractory clay, peat, anthracite). Natural gas and oil fields are located in the north-western part of the region. There are significant reserves of underground thermal and mineral waters. Forests cover about 4 million hectares, more than 20% of the territory.

Novosibirsk Oblast is one of the most industrially developed regions in Siberia (metal processing and machine building, food, power engineering, non-ferrous metallurgy industries). Heavy industries are concentrated in Novosibirsk, Iskitim and Berdsk.

The regional agriculture specializes in the cultivation of grain, potatoes and vegetables. Dairy cattle breeding, poultry farming and beekeeping are developed. The production of flax plays an important role too. Agricultural development of the territory is not high (about 48%). In general, it has about 25% of all agricultural land in Western Siberia.

Top Things To Do And See In Novosibirsk, Russia

Russian River Vineyards_PR

After the world-famous St Petersburg and Moscow , Novosibirsk is Russia ‘s third most important city. Off limits to foreigners during Soviet times, this beautifully historic town is only just being discovered by outsiders and its unspoiled nature makes Novosibirsk the ideal place to gain a true and authentic taste of Russia.

The state art museum.

Novosibirsk’s Art Museum is one of the most extensive art galleries in the whole of Siberia. This cultural capital of the Siberian region houses everything from sculpture, to ancient local crafts, to fine paintings, to exquisite Russian Orthodox icons, to the most cutting edge of Russia’s modern art, and with over 10,000 exhibits, there’ll be no end of masterpieces to explore. The immense, grey art deco building is one of the city’s most striking sights and a must-visit for any art buffs travelling the Siberian region.

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

Completed in 1898, this historic cathedral was one of the first buildings in Novosibirsk to be made of stone. The immense domes, sweeping arches, and superb brickwork are characteristic of the Neo-Byzantine style of Russian architecture at the time and the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is one of the finest examples of this style. The gleaming gold dome still retains all the glory of its past and the peaceful interior of the cathedral itself acts as a wonderfully tranquil hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Novosibirsk’s main streets.

The Lenina Square

The beating heart of Novosibirsk: this square is a center of activity, culture , and local life. Lenina Square is home to many of the city’s most important buildings and also acts as an exhibition of some of the city’s most spectacular architecture. The square is a perfect place to soak up the unique architecture, bustling atmosphere, and fabulous culture of Novosibirsk. The Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, the State Concert Hall, the city hall, and the humongous Opera and Ballet Theatre, are all to be found here, radiating out from the square’s focal point: an enormous statue of leader of the Russian Revolution and Russia’s most infamous socialist, Vladimir Lenin . Many lush green parks are located just a stone’s throw from Lenina Square.

Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre

Inaugurated in 1945, the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre is famous both across Russia and the world for hosting world-class performances of opera and ballet . The repetoire is chock-a-block with masterpieces and the building itself is a sight to behold. The theater is famed for being the largest in Russia, larger even than Moscow ‘s celebrated Bolshoi Theatre. With its three halls, the largest seating around 2,000 people, the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre has a simply huge capacity. Due to its size and grandeur, many have dubbed it the ‘Siberian Coliseum’.

Novosibirsk Zoo

This world-famous zoo is home to over 10,000 different exotic animals, around 150 of these from the World Red Book of Threatened Species . Its idyllic pine forest setting makes it a wonderfully natural getaway from the city center, but at only a 10 minute bus ride from Novosibirsk’s centre, the zoo remains a very accessible attraction. The Novosibirsk zoological gardens play a vital role in protecting wildlife across the world and saving endangered species from extinction. Almost 40 different captive breeding programs here ensure that exotic species are preserved and allowed to thrive in as natural an environment as possible. In 2012 the zoo was the site of the birth of a hugely rare liger cub, with a male lion and female liger (half lion, half tiger) for parents.

Try Siberian cuisine

A natural haven, the wildlife of the Siberian region is some of the rarest and most iconic on earth. This has hugely impacted the Siberian cuisine which is one of the most interesting in the world. The fabulous restaurants here offer unparalleled opportunities for trying rare meats and fish. Siberian pelmeni (traditional dumplings) are a delicacy across Russia and certainly worth a try. The freshness of the produce in this city makes Novosibirsk one of the best places to try traditional Russian delicacies such as caviar. Novosibirsk’s food scene is one of the best and most varied in Russia.

The USSR Museum

This fascinating museum prioritizes interactivity to draw visitors right into the world of the Soviet Union . Crossing the entrance way, you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported back in time to a world of Socialism, monumental architecture, and 20th century culture. The space is designed to resemble a typical family home during the Communist period and gives visitors an intriguing snapshot of Russia’s Soviet past . Rumor has it that the building itself was a former headquarters for the KGB. The USSR Museum is a true treasure trove of vintage clothes, busts of Soviet leaders, historic toys, and other curiosities that are sure to keep you entertained for hours on end.

The Museum of Regional Studies

This museum is home to numerous exhibits on local history and nature and is one of Siberia’s most important museums. With around 200,000 artifacts and exhibits spanning around 150,000 years of Siberia’s history, the collection here is simply staggering. Discover the fascinating facts and enthralling details of the native people and local cultural of this world-famous region. Siberia’s inhospitable climate caused the local population to evolve its own, very distinctive culture and way of life which makes the area feel almost like a nation of its own, far removed from modern, European St Petersburg and Moscow.

The N. K. Rerikh Museum

Nicholas Rerikh , also known as Roerich, was one of Russia’s most influential painters as well as being a writer, philosopher, and archaeologist. The N. K. Rerikh Museum is dedicated to the life and work of this fascinating man who was, on numerous occasions, nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Many of the artist’s stunning paintings are displayed alongside artifacts from his life and details about the man himself. His five-year trek around the Himalayas and Central Asia is often featured in Rerikh’s landscapes – famed for their breathtaking beauty and striking colors. Free classical concerts are held here on the third Saturday of every month.

The Novosibirsk Planetarium

Only unveiled in 2012, this new addition to Novosibirsk’s excellent array of attractions has already earned itself a fine reputation across the entire country. This planetarium , the fourth largest in Russia, was named in 2015 the best social infrastructure in the country. You won’t need to be an astronomy buff to appreciate the beauty and scale of the solar system through Novosibirsk Planetarium’s observatory and star hall. The center is stunningly located overlooking a natural plateau and surrounded by an astronomically themed park. The park’s lush green alleys are dotted with representations of the sun, planets, and many comets. Observations often coincide with important astronomic events and the center is also home to a café and Foucault tower with a pendulum that demonstrates the earth’s rotation.
