Our sprayhoods are well known for having excellent fit, rigidity and style. By manipulating the shape of the cover panels during manufacture, we create tension to ensure the hood is a whole rigid structure. Additional reinforcement where needed, expert patterning, the latest CAD technology and high quality manufacturing standards all combine to produce the best fitting product on the market.

This laminated window material offers exceptional clarity and gives clear vision throughout. For those who always leave their sprayhood up and in place, it offers the same great protection of the elements as our standard window material, but with greater clarity.
NB. It is not suitable for those who wish to sail with the hood collapsed, as it should be handled with extreme care.

- Sprayhoods and Covers
Sprayhoods, Covers and Canopies
We pride ourselves in making well fitting covers. These are usually always given personal attention on board. We will visit your yacht to measure up or take a pattern to ensure a perfect fit, then revisit to install the cover on board.
Our covers are manufactured in acrylic canvas for Sprayhoods, sail covers and spray dodgers. For winter covers and larger heavy duty boat covers Topgun a durable polyester fabric is used.
About our Sprayhoods
The frames can be jointed for ease of stowing. The frames are set up to the desired shape and patterned over, to produce a polythene duplicate of what is required. This means that you can see the hood and or enclosure before it’s made up in the fabric and make sure that windows and doors etc are where they are best suited for your use on board.
We then return to the boat to install the covers, to align fasteners and correctly tension the hood.
Winter Covers, Sail Covers and Dodgers
Winter covers are usually made to measure, fitted once for rig slots, mooring line access, doors and areas of chafe reinforced. We return to install finally ensuring the boats well wrapped up for the winter.
Sail Covers and Dodgers
Sail covers and dodgers are made out of a breathable acrylic canvas, allowing the sail to breathe when under cover. Coated fabrics are not used for this application as they can encourage mildew and rub off. Coated fabrics are only used where maximum water resistance is required.
Please remember that we also valet and reproof all types of covers as part of our valeting service. Regular valeting will ensure your covers are checked and prepared for the coming seasons giving you the maximum life out of your investment.
All our covers carry a three year guarantee against failure in materials and workmanship.

Our standard sprayhoods are made from marine grade acrylic, with 2 windows and provisions for 2 frames with push through sleeves.
Additional windows: £35
Zip sleeve: £15 per meter
Drop down zip window: £60
Frames made from 316 stainless steel, 19mm x 1 mm thick tube bent to suit boat on site: £120+VAt + deck fittings if required per hoop.
Spray hood shown below is a far larger and more complex hood with 3 bars, zip sleeves, side windows, handle bar sleeves, halyards cut outs and lots of hull fittings.

With a choice of cockpit cover to overall covers, we can talk you through the best option for your Drascombe. Our canvas man has been making our covers for around 40 years, and we have now moved forward with the Weathermax 80 as an option. Along with covers and overalls, we can supply tents to suit those who would like more of an adventure, along with cushions and in-fills to ensure you are comfortable when sleeping aboard.
Cockpit covers.
This cover fits at side bench level & requires lacing hooks screwed to the side decks close up to the gunwhale around the boat.
Overall Covers
The Overall Cover is sometimes referred to as the winter cover. It fits over the gunwhale cappings & down the sides of the boat by a few inches. By doing this it protects all the woodwork.
These Sprayhoods are available for the Dabber, Lugger, Longboat and Coaster in Acrylic Canvas or Weathermax
Cockpit Tents
A full camping tent is available for the open boats (except the Dabber). It encloses the whole of the cockpit & is supported on a set of bendy poles (these are NOT included in the price). It has a collar that laces around the mast, sleeves for the poles & an opening back panel with Velcro closures.
D22 Sprayhood and Tent
The Cockpit Cover is a welcome addition for when your boat is on a mooring. The Sprayhood and frame is included in the standard spec.
